Apparently one of my character names was in violation of the naming policy and was just changed. However, the name I selected was derived from the in game random name selector.
The name it issued was "Ananus"... Hey your name selector offered it, please check your records.
So now after 41 levels that name is stripped from me and the name Kalanenth has replaced it. I don't like that name and feel that in all fairness seeing as to how it was the game that gave me the original name, that I should get the option to select a different name.
I have done that. I just thought I would post here too. I think people should be aware of this problem and that the game needs to be accountable for issuing names that in violation of the game's naming policies.
Im pretty sure they would have no problem giving you the free name change, considering they gave you the name in the first place :/ Though it would be good for them to reinspect their random name generator, and perhaps add a few more "guildlines" or something like that in their generator. Am I even making sense? I hope so :P
We encourage all players to thoroughly review any name prior to selecting it for your character, even if it is provided by our random name generator.
As noted in this sticky thread, you may appeal or provide feedback about the name change via a web inquiry to the In-Game department. If you do not like the new name provided, you may purchase a rename from the store.
I will certainly pass along the feedback about the name generator and new name selected.
