PAX Prime Seattle 2011
As the meeting request I just confirmed reminded me, it's never to early to start thinking about PAX PRIME!

Re: PAX Prime Seattle 2011
Should be a good year! I'm excited to see Turbine of course (especially so close to ROI), and hope to see some good stuff from Bethesda as well. Two major fall releases with dragon-related elements is going to make the end of 2011 pretty crazy.

I sure wish! Far away for me though. How are these covered media-wise?

Re: PAX Prime Seattle 2011
Myself and the Mrs. will be attending. Been at PAX Prime every year since LOTRO was announced!
Sapience, do you have any idea if Patience will be attending (as per usual)? We've always enjoyed chatting with her and catching up on goings in life and family on over the past year. Looking forward to introducing our little 4 month old Hobbit lad (well, he'll be 5 months by then).
Regardless, we're looking forward to seeing everyone from Turbine (oh yeah, and the game stuff, too!)

Re: PAX Prime Seattle 2011
I went last year, and had an incredible time. Was great meeting you Sapience (and everyone else). I highly recommend anyone who can go to do so with all haste and priority!
Sadly, my wife's due date is near PAX Prime this year, and I like being married so I'm going to pine away for Seattle from my home for that weekend. See you in 2012 though!

Where now is the lolcat and the derailer? Where is the troll that was trolling?
Where is the URL and the youtube, and the snappy retort flowing?
Where is the hand on the keyboard, and the LCD screen glowing?
They have passed like rain on the thread, like a wind in the post;
The days have gone down in the forums behind the cookys into shadow.
Who shall gather the smoke of the nubs not searching,
Or behold the flowing derails from the Sea returning?

Re: PAX Prime Seattle 2011
I'll be there with my SoA box for you guys to sign. Will you have Sharpies or should I bring my own?
I spent virtually all of 2009's PAX at the Turbine booth trying out Moria and introducing newbies to the game. Several attendees assumed I was a Turbine employee, partly because of the MoM shirt I scored.
I hope there will be an exclusive mount or other cool memento. Care to drop a hint?

Re: PAX Prime Seattle 2011
Ah - I didn't know she had moved on. It had kind of become the yearly ritual for the last several years (even just prior to LOTRO's release). Go to PAX. Chat with Meghan.

We'll definitely be stopping by the booth at some point over the weekend. Look forward to seeing you guys!

Still working out the details, but if I do go I'll be there as an exhibitor. Hopefully I'll be able to sneak away for a bit and say hi.

"There will be stuff" ... sounds promising! I've been looking forward to PAX for months now, it seems. The buttons I got from the Turbine booth last year were my favourite freebies of all (I can advertise my Lore-masterliness everywhere I go now!

Re: PAX Prime Seattle 2011
I'll be there! Was at PAX last year as well but got so overwhelmed with everything that I missed out on the Turbine booth. I'll make it a point to stop by this year. I don't really spend a lot of time on the forums but I'm looking forward to meeting the crew.

Re: PAX Prime Seattle 2011
I wasn't able to snag a PAX pass before they sold out. I've been debating dropping by the convention center on Friday and seeing if I could find one at a halfway decent price. Don't want to miss out, we'll see how it goes.

Re: PAX Prime Seattle 2011
They've posted it twice to Twitter, but not once here on the forums. So very annoying as not everyone checks Twitter.
Anyway, here's how to request an invite to the Turbine party at PAX.
Going to #PAX ? Want to come party with #Turbine Friday night? Request your invitation now. RSVP@turbine.com must be 21+ #LOTRO

Re: PAX Prime Seattle 2011
+rep to you MidnyteTragedy. I would not have found it, either.
Sapience started this thread before Gamescon and I had high hopes for communication. But we're just now getting the time-sensitive info only 4 days in advance on 3rd party social media. What's the point of having a "LotRO Community (beta)" forum if you're not going to use it, Turbine?

Re: PAX Prime Seattle 2011
According to his Twitter, Sapience got home from Gamescon yesterday, so I'm hoping he'll have the time to post something to the forums with more details.
I sent off an email for an invite, but no confirmation has been sent back. Not very reassuring.
Editing to add:
Two new tweets regarding the Turbine Party...
"If you RSVP for our PAX Party, Invitations will be sent to you via email. You must present a printed invitation at the door. Remember, 21+."
"You can also pick up an invite on the show floor on FRIDAY AUG 26 during show hours. Our Party is Friday night at 9:00PM."Last edited by MidnyteTragedy; Aug 23 2011 at 12:11 PM.

Re: PAX Prime Seattle 2011
The Turbine booth will be my first stop once I get into PAX on Friday, that's for certain.
I'm RSVP'd for the pre-PAX meetup at the Daily Grill so hopefully will meet a few fellow LOTRO peeps there.

Re: PAX Prime Seattle 2011
When Moria previewed at PAX, I spent the whole three days at the Turbine booth, testing it and showing off the game to potential new players, many of whom assumed I worked for Turbine (if only!).
