Thread: Let's Make a Deal....

I had posted the other day of my interest in purchasing a Symbol of the Elder King and offered a 400G buyout....after much thought, I came up with a new "buyout" plan to offer anyone or any Kin who might have one they want to sell.

As everyone knows from past history....when new symbols first appear they are a hot commodity.....but after all of the Kins have had several weeks to raid and many loot winners have multiples of the symbol and no longer need one, you will see them appearing on the AH....they will be pricey at first [200-300G I would think] and then over time, as the supply is greater and the demand drops because more and more people have one....so will the price on the AH [as evidenced by the fact that Symbols of Celebrimbor are now averaging 20G on Firefoot where once they were bringing in hefty sums of virtual coin.

In light of this I am offering this deal:

If someone sells me a Symbol of the Elder King the remainder of this week [4/28-4/30] I will pay them 800G [that's correct.....eight hundred gold]

If someone sells me a Symbol of the Elder King during the week of 5/1-5/7 I will pay them 700G

During the week of 5/8-5/14, 600G

The buyout offered will drop by 100G each week until the week of 5/29-6/4 when the buyout will be 300G and there it will stay [unless I find one cheaper on the AH of course].

By June, I would expect to see these symbols appearing on the AH, even if only one or two every now and then.

When/If I obtain a symbol or [for some other reason] withdraw the offer, I will edit this post and state that intent.

As I've been checking the AH at every opportunity, last night a First Age Symbol appeared with a buyout just a few gold more than my current offer for this week....so I bought it off the AH.

As everyone who has EVER identified legacies on a legendary weapon/item knows, even now [after the update] it's a ****shoot. Identified with three major legacies and then the remaining three were all minor....not even ONE MORE MAJOR legacy. *sigh*

So.....I am still in the market for another Symbol of the Elder King....but with an offer of 500g from now until the end of June....OR....until I see what the "going buyout" is on the AH. [if it's less than that].

Wow! So you spent over 800g and are still offering another 500 for a second. You have been playing since August of 2007, starting just 4 months after myself. While I have not played pretty much since after we raided and burned out a crew of good gamers. Killing the watcher 1.0 about 20 to 30 times a week at our peek.

Then taking about an 8 months break to come back and Raid DN and burn another crew of good players out...including myself. Where we were doing the queen Alzeria about 3 to 8 times a week, because our crew was not as hardcore :P !!!!!

No offense to our former group of Renegades as we all loved and hated to play with each other. We had our good times but I can say more bad than good. I think i gave plenty of people headaches -- but you guys have no idea what each of you were saying behind each others back to me in messages and I won't reveal that information because you trusted me with your input. You jack**** were whiny as all get out sometimes!! I swear!

We had some really good potential people want to join and unfortunately I let the extreme flexible Raiding/Kin style destroy it. There is something called Elitism to the extreme. I'll let this thread stay buried deep within your lets make a deal thread, to not piss any former players off. But I do say we also had our good times too. It has been so long that i look back and miss -- only the good times. Without all the drama. I'll admit i made a mistake with Necrosis but he deserved a fair chance just like anyone and he was a decent player, just wanted to fit in too badly and no one wanted him in a group because he weirded them out.

Anyway -- I probably gave away about 600 gold to someone spend thrift or i'd be sitting on over a platinum piece right now after the break time. But i'm normally pretty efficient and earning gold. So my compliments to you Sir, you have a good system!
