Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
My wife and I joined and I think it's a great kinship. It's really a team building effort, with us sharing resources with each other. We give to others what they need. And it's a positive, helpful environment.
Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club

Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
Again can’t say enough good things about this kinship. Let’s face it, if you are older with kids your gaming time is limited and precious. The last thing you want to do is have to sort through mass amount of nonsense. You won’t get any at our kinship, you’ll get pleasant discussion and if you are out questing and otherwise not available, no one is going to whine about why you haven’t replied to them.
Bottom line, this is a great kinship. I’ve been helped tremendously by way of advice, been gifted numerous recipes, items, tools. Contact Faragrim with an in game mail and join us. The parents of middle earth awaits!
Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
Been a member now for nearly 2 months, whenever I need something I have no problems getting it. Armor, chisel (primary is a RK) and resources. It wont be long we will have a kin house. If you are a parent in real life and looking for people who understand family comes first, check us out.
Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
Only been a member for aa couple days but the support is fantastic. Very mature group who helps each other out withanything needed. That said I am stockpiling items needed for tasks ( i.e. med hides, carapaces and the like) if anyone needs any send me a message either in my inbox or in game (mjolnirgar) and I will see what I have.
Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
Hello ,
Never thought this kin would have a webby as well as a thread.
Going off topic , Im here to thank Anaraxorious ( i forgot the confusing name ) , member of the Parents of Middle Earth coz of her kind deed. I happened to accidentally bid on her 2nd age bow on the AH and she gladly returned the money to me
Didnt thank her enough through the mail so , thank you so much That 30 gold meant alot for a newbie like me.
Back to topic , +1 the Parents of Middle Earth kinship and bumps to its thread
Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
I have been a member of this kinship for a few months now, and I find it to be the best kinship that I have been a part of. There is an active membership that is willing to help with quests, skirmishes, crafting and advice.
The kin chat is light and friendly.
All in all, a good experience, and one that has kept me more interested in the game than I would be without such a friendly and supportive kin.
Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
Our members range from new parents to experienced grandparents, from MMO veterans to folks new to gaming in general. We are a casual non-elitist group of mature gamers that realize that family comes first and the game is a stress reliever not a stress inducer. We support each other as much as possible wether that be with quest help or crafting support. We have many crafters that enjoy providing services to kin mates. While we're always growing we're not a huge group that individuals disappear into; we are a social group. If this sounds like what you are looking for please stop by our website Parents of Middle Earth.
Any of our officers will be most glad to answer any questions you may have or you may feel free to look me up with any questions you may have about the kin.
Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
We have over 250 characters in the kinship now and welcome new players. We have a Kin House, website and ventrilo for those interested. Please see our website for more information.
Cheers,

Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
Are you married with children and have limited gaming time? This is absolutely the kin for you. When I started out on riddermark I found Parents of middle earth and they helped me through the trials of getting my RK to moria. I’ve since moved on, hence why I think my recommendation carries more weight.
If you are a parent and want to play with people who have similar real life issues, look no further. You’ll get plenty of help for new toons, fair exchange of mats and a wide range of experienced players with several alts.
Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
I have been a part of PoME for several months now. After trying 5 or 6 kins I found PoME on the forum. This kin is unlike any other I tried. I tend to solo most of the time but find in our kin people who are helpful and fun to play with. I now do instances and fellowships for the first time. I always find a kin to help when I need crafting, fellowing, or just simply advice. This is the only kin I ever plan to be a part of. Absolutely the most fun part of playing is being a part of PoME.
Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
Are you a parent who has to juggle your LOTRO playtime with real-life responsibilities? Tired of being in groups who don't understand when you've got to suddenly go AFK because Junior is trying to eat his Crayons again? Wish you could find other players who go through the same things? Parents of Middle Earth is just what you're looking for!
Joined PoME several months ago, and I haven't regretted it once. This is a great group of folks who are always willing to help with quests, crafting or just a few words of advice as needed. So if you're interested, look up our website (shown in one of the posts above), or just PM one of us in-game, and we'll direct you to one of the officers to get you set up.
Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
I've been in this kin for several months, and it was a perfect choice for me. Lots of friendly, helpful folks. There are always people ready to help with sharing craft items and help with advice. I've done quite a few fun fellowships runs too. I love that anytime I've grouped and someone has to leave for family issues, everyone is really supportive. And we can usually find another person ready to jump in and help. It's really given me the confidence to group more often than I did in a previous raid-driven kin. Family comes first with PoME, but it doesn't stop up from having great time playing together.
Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
I have been a member of this kin for several months now and have been made to feel thoroughly welcome. It's ideal for me as a parent of young kids, because they are always understanding when kids take me afk, even when with a group is in the middle of something. Plenty of help and support too. Very friendly, no stress, and no bad language.
Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
I have been in this kin for about 9 months now. I had just started as a total beginner and had never played an MMO before. I joined after seeing this forum and have been very thankful to be a part of the kinship ever since. People are happy to answer basic or advanced questions, help with crafting, and help with questing.
I never thought I would enjoy grouping for instances or enjoy questing in Moria. Yet here I am at that point now. I feel very fortunate to have joined this kinship as my experience with LOTRO would likely have been far less enjoyable.
Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
I've been a kin member for several months and it was definitely a great choice for me. It's a great group people, of varying ages and locations and experiences. So often, there are conversations in kin chat that strike me as funny and natural - just as if you were having a conversation in person.
I've been a mainly solo player since I joined LOTRO last year - admittedly a bit intimidated in fellowship quests. But it's easy to get a group together in such a large and diverse kin and quite a few of the members have a huge amount of experience and are happy to train or explain. Friendly people, no pressure, relaxed conversation and all-around a great experience.
Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
I've been a member for a few months now and I have really enjoyed the kinship. Lotro was my first MMO experience and I almost quit because I was tired of all the drama that took place with some of the kins I was a part of. But since joining the kin I have had people who are fun to play with and understand when I have to go afk to change a diaper. There are some excellent players with a lot of MMO experience. I mean, some of these people date back to the days of Zork! The kin has made instances an enjoyable experience, and it is nice to have a (usually) more mature conversation level going on in the kinship chat. If you are someone who has all of Bree on ignore, then you might want to look into The Parents of Middle Earth.
Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
Mae govannen Parents of Middle Earth!
I just installed Lord of the Rings last night and spent the past several days reading these forums to find a kinship that I would feel "at home" with. It didn't take long to find this thread and read so many positive posts regarding PoME. I too am a proud parent of two wonderful little boys, my family being my priority, still need a sanity break to slip away from the real world here and there.
My toon is Ladenfir, Elvish Lore-Master hailing from Imladris. Character creation claims the Lore-Master is advanced but I'm willing to work through the class and focus on this one character. I'd like to apply to this kinship and although I'm level 8 now, I'm looking forward to all that this journey will bring.
I have a lot of MMO experience, starting back with Everquest when it went live...branching off to EQ2 for a brief period and finally, following my friends to World of Warcraft where I had to break from gaming in general because of the player base as well as my friends calling it quits. This brings me here to Lord of the Rings.
Look forward to hearing from you all. I've yet to figure out how to search for kinships in game or members of PoME so as soon as I explore a bit more, I'll try to find someone for more information on applying.
Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
This is the best Kin that I have found. I have been a member since the early summer of 2011 and love every moment, there is always someone willing to help with any crafting or questing as well as provide any needed items. If you are a parent with liited time check us out.
Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
Having never played an MMO before LOTRO I had no idea how involved it could be. I almost instantly took to the game and wanted to learn more. I like to solo (a lot), but knew there was more to the game that I was missing. One day I saw a toon that belonged to the Parents of Middle Earth kin and it intrigued me enough to look up their website.
I joined soon after and do not regret one thing about it. What a great bunch of people. Having played FPS games for years this has been a refreshing change. Everyone has a child(ren) to care for so it is understood that things come up. The game never takes precedence. If you're in the middle of something there will be another day to complete the quest, instance, or whatever. Often times someone else will fill the void so the task is completed anyway.
All of that said, there could not be a more helpful group. Nothing goes to waste it seems. Mats, gear and other items are cordially traded and it is a win-win for the whole group. If you are a parent looking for a family-friendly kin you can't possibly go wrong with Parents of Middle Earth.
Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
I have been with Parents of Middle Earth since it was founded and this has been the absolute best group I've ever been a member of in an MMO. I've played many different games, all the way back to EQ1 when it was shiny and new, but never have I felt as sense of belonging as strong as I do within this kinship. I cannot imagine finding a better group of people to play with and this kinship, more than anything else, is what keeps me wanting to stick with LOTRO (which isn't to say I don't love the game, but rather that PoME is the icing on the proverbial cake).
I really love that everyone understands the demands of raising children and doesn't even bat an eyelash if I have to suddenly go AFK or log off to take care of child-related matters. Also, when it comes to helpfulness I find that our members often go above and beyond, both in crafting and questing matters. I couldn't be happier with my kinship!
Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
Before I started playing LOTRO, I spent some time in a raiding guild in WoW. So I was used to lots of rules, and in-group conflict, and strict time commitments. With a couple kids, it was hard to follow that and still have any fun.
Then, shortly after I started in this game, I came across Parents of Middle Earth. I've been in the kin more than 6 months now, and it's been nothing but great. There is always a bunch of people online, working at all levels of characters. The people are friendly, helpful, and generous with their time. And the whole point of the kin is to be a place where you can say to your group "kid just woke up from a nap, gotta go" and that's ok.
We've had a lot of new people joining lately, and things are lively and active. If it all sounds good to you, look us up in-game. Or go to http://parents.guildlaunch.com/
Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
Been playing lotro for a year now and been in PoME since this fall. It is the best experience that could happen to me, from the help to the ambiance this kinship remind me the old time I was playing FFXI.
Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
Testimonial.
Been with Parents of Middle Earth for a couple weeks now.
I came here as a complete newb in fellowships and instances. I have never did anything in a group setting and wanted to learn how to contribute on my Champ.
Since coming to Parents of Middle Earth I've been in a group everyday doing Limlight runs and have done several instances and even a Dragon run.
People here at Parents of Middle Earth take the time to explain things and have a mature attitude even when I make mistakes as I learn.
Has been a very supportive/friendly kinship and a great gaming experience for me.

Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
I am interested in joining your kinship. I am a father of one, and nearing 40...I'm so tired of immature players in WoW and SWTOR. Whom do I speak to in order to join?

Although we are a social kin, we have group runs all the time and offer quest help, crafting, instances and fellowships. This is a no-pressure, mutual respect club that supports all levels of play and expertise.

Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
I'll contribute a testimonial as well. I was in a great little kin but due to time differences and size I made the reluctant decision to switch. PoME has always been a kin that interested me and I have to say, after being a member now for a month, that it is great place be. Everybody is friendly, understanding of RL commitments, and a lot of fun.
I have no hesitation is recommending PoME to anyone who wants a great gaming and social experience.

Re: Parents of Middle Earth - the Mature Players Club
I've been with PoME for awhile now.. each and everyone of them has become more like a family memember than a Kinsman.
Without them I doubt that I would still be playing Lotro. they have helped me in the thick and thin of things..
