Discussion: How does a European Player connecting to a US Server?

I know we have a number of European players on the US Turbine servers so I'm hoping one can give me and a friend some guidance.

He lives in Sweden, has the Turbine program and created a Turbine account. However, whenever he tries to log in to the US servers, it won't let him. To the best of my knowledge it keeps giving him a "Wrong account/PW" error, but I'll confirm.

Long story short, is there anything else he needs to take into consideration to sign in from Europe other than having the Turbine Program and Turbine account rather than Codemasters?

Your friend has all he needs. Is he making typos on login?

Dunno what else the problem can be. I'm in UK & never have problems getting ingame

Only one of two reasons that I can see

- he's attempting to use an account created on codemasters EU version

- he has the EU version of LOTRO downloaded and is attempting to log in using a Turbine version account

Ok, not sure what the problem is, but we have it solved. He does have the Turbine account and program, but still didn't work. However, based on his error (Wrong Account/PW), I assumed it was an account, not software problem. So, I just created an account for him and then gave him the name/PW to test out.

Worked great and now he is unleashed on the populace of Landroval....

I suspect he created the acc over at EU version, simple as that. Happy gaming!
