So I haven't been around the forums too much since it was the old forums look. Needless to say much has changed. I recently posted about a topic I really shouldn't have, i made a mistake. But really, I thought I was ok to post about such things becaus I read the "Forum Rules" and saw nothing saying I couldn't do it. Here's why I was wrong.
Things are different now. Now the rules are under an Announcement tab that is a font size half of what everything else is on my screen that I can't change, making it hard to notice. Next, I'm still not use to this all being called the Community rather than just the Forums. And finally, Guidelines are just that, guides, meaning that you go along a general path but can deviate. Naturally I didn't think that this was what I was looking for when it came to hardcore forum rules.
So what I found was at the bottom of every forum, a link titled "Forum Rules". This is what I read, and is what lead me to make my mistake. You shouldn't refer to adhering to the forum rules, but site the rules from the Community Guidelines, that just creates confusion. having the two things titled so close gives room for such errors. So my suggestion, either conslidate the two or rename them.
