Thread: My First LI and I think I broke the quest. Now what am I going to do?

So I'm doing the Vol II, Book 1, Chapter 10 quest.

I'm down to Objective 5 - "slot a setting relic"

However, I accidentally broke down all of my relics to shards, b/c I was confused about who I was talking with and completely unfamiliar with the screens. I did read the tips, but obviously not good enough.

So now I have no relic to slot (the LI inventory box has nothing listed to select and click the "slot" button), 4 shards (visible in the barter wallet), and 3 NPCs that I cannot talk with and rectify the situation (using that has no effect). Nor can I go into the Walls of Moria for the mini-watcher quest.

Am I missing something? What other information am I not providing here? Why would I be able to talk with a Relic Master and shard relics before completing the slotting objective? Can I actually barter for a setting relic at a skirmish camp?

Fear not! You can get relics from the skirmish trader. For 23 marks you can get yourself a Fuzed Copper Relics, which will yield 6-10 T1 relics.

for 23 skirmish marks you can go to the legendary item trader and get a fused bronze relic. then take that to a relic master and deconstruct it. After you do that, hit shift + I and slot the relic. you do not need to visit a forgemaster or a relic-master to slot a relic.

Looks like you will never be able to use a Legendary item on that toon... sorry.

I would recommend deleting that toon and creating another one...

Unfortunately this didn't work out so well. I've submitted a ticket so hopefully something can be fixed. I purchased the fused relic from skirmish vendor, but I am unable to talk with the relic master to break it down. "nothing to do here" or something like that.

you can also try abandoning the quest and starting that quest over again. there may be a cooldown period before you can accept it again.

Oh man! that's a great idea. Will have to try that tonight.

The ticket is the solution, someone else did the same, the GM fixed the problem.

problem with some answers is that you cannot use the forge master or relic master til after you finish this book. Don't think the dev's remembered this when they 'fixed' the LI system. I'm guessing the reason you cant use either npc til after is so that you can finish the quest without doing what the OP did.

That section of the relic master should be unusable by noobs (that is: people who haven't finished this epic quest line) to prevent this from happening, just like they can't use the forge master to identify or otherwise mess up their current noob LI's til after they've gotten them to level 10 at least.

I'm guessing the Dev's forgot about THIS mess when they put in the new system and DID NOT update the epic quest. I mean really guys... the arc is supposed to teach people about LI's not incite trouble tickets.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Although it is good that they are able to fix it. If only I had found that other post it could have cut down on the time take to resolve it and hide my shame :-)

Hey, at least I know I'll never do it again.

Obviously this is a missed impact. Turbine needs to disable the melding panel until after your character finishes Volume 2, Book 1.

Same hee finished quest and got my first LI at 45, But after getting weapon to 20 i couldnt reforge casue when talking to foge and relic maste it says "Using that has no effect" and seemingly no way to fix=[ dont have moria but gonna get it to see if it fixes and tips on how to fix now?

You have to continue and finish Book 1 before you can use the forgemaster again.
