I'm looking for the defrag tool that was posted by the Dervs about a year back.
When I do a search I find lots of links, most take me to a page that states:
"Hi dreamcreatorx, thank you for your interest in The Lord of the Rings Online™ !

Well I have a lifetime LoTRO account, so I'm not sure what this is all about.
The link on the Lore Book states:
"Your organization has been disabled
Salesforce.com has disabled access to the system for your company. Please contact support@salesforce.com for more information about this error."
So no luck there.
Maybe Turbine fixed the problems with the defrag and the tool isn't available anymore /shrug
If I recall correctly, the tool cannot be downloaded using Internet Explorer v8 (not sure about the latest version). Use Firefox or another browser.
This is a great tool and for older lotro installations, should vastly improve load times when first logging into the game and when moving between zones.
Edit: See Below! My advice is bad, as it seems the defrag tool is incompatible with the latest update. ( /gives self negative reputation )

Reason: Obsolete, potentially destructive advice!
Yes, we've recently removed the Dat Defrag tool as it will cause an issue with your files in this latest update. Please do not run it.

This is why staying up to date is HELPFUL. I had no idea, didn't see it for some reason and said hey my games being all funny and laggy let me defrag it only to have a messed up game now. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Seriously irritated right now.

Does the defrag tool damage the standard res client as well or just the high res client. I run the standard client and things are getting a bit slow. It is on an older XP machine. What are my options? I looked at flashboost, but that is not XP compatible.

Currently it only damages a high resolution installation.

Glad to hear that it does not damage the standard res client. Anyone have any suggestions on where i can find it since they have removed it from here?
You would have to get a customer that has the tool to send it to you. You got no way of knowing if what you are getting is the real official Turbine defrag tool. I do not have it. I deleted it in fit of madness after the tool destroyed both of my clients.

I'm running the high res version of the game and I defragged it two weeks ago with the tool found at http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/LOTRO_DefragSuite. I've logged many hours of play time, including raids and whatnot, since then and haven't seen anything to make me think my game is corrupt. In fact, it runs WAY more smoothly than it did before the defrag. I had never defragged my game before but it was hitching and lagging so badly that I felt I had to try something.
I chose the "Defrag All" option. Did I just get lucky?
