I posted the same thing in the metalsmith forums cuz i have a metalsmith alt. my tailor is also missing recipes. It's not as bad as my metalsmith as i have a couple recipes left, but definitely much less than i should. i think this is a bug of some sort, and turbine should fix it really quick. if turbine stated that this would happen already, then I'm sorry for the inconvenience T.T
You may want to check the changes listed in the Notes for Update 2. The recipes you are missing will likely be on the list of the ones that have been removed.
No, the only recipes that were upgraded to the multi-output format were the standard versions. None of the racial recipes were upgraded. We just lost them, unless you had the standard version as well in which case you still have the racial version in the multi-output. If you only had the racial version of a particular piece then it's gone, as intended. This was discussed while the Update was still on Test and has been railed about in several threads since the Update went live. You just have to deal with it.
nah just hit up the humanoid mobs while doing some deeds or something
You get a lot of recipes.
Wingwoz (on hunters in LOTRO), "I prefer to think of them more like Elvis or James Dean. Terminally self indulgent but their presence in a party, nay, the very fact that they ever existed, makes the world a cooler place."
'Zairente hums, "Little rabbit Poo-kie / running through the Di-res / scooping up the Mon-archs / and BANGING 'em on the head."' The Antics and Ramblings of Family Nenaelin
This Issue is not getting the attention it deserves! The racial variants should of been replaced by the multi output variants of the recipe! Tired of the "just deal with it response" What a crock....Alot of us spent alot of coin getting these recipes for complete sets of armor and banked them for alts and kinmates...to just flat out steal our recipes via nerf without replacement or compensation is just straight up gankery

There are lot of people that felt this way. It is what it is. Once Turbine ran the scripts to delete all these recipes all record of which characters knew these recipes was destroyed. Even if Turbine wanted to undo it. It is not possible.
Each customer has to decide. Live with and continue playing. Stop playing the game. Those are to only two choices Turbine is giving us. I must had hundreds of recipes deleted between my two tailors and my metal smith. Gosh only knows how many one shots were taken by Turbine. I am not even sure how many gaps I have in my recipes. In some cases I only had one of the three versions.
Turbine took the solution that required a lower expenditure of dollars for them. Many of their choices are done this way. They pick a solution that is not full featured. Has defects. Not really what we wanted. Sends it to live because it is less costly for them. Or Turbine has a schedule to meet. It has to be shipped in May 2011 - but but but - we did not get the roof finished - the customers are going to get wet if it rains.

Turbine is being backed by somel arger companies now and Im sure has more resources than they did before! I am sure they can afford to compensate those who took a large hit by what they did to us!...

Yula's point is that, even if they wanted to, there may be no way for Turbine to know who to compensate and for what. If the recipes drop as frequently as people are saying, in the time since the update you could have been restocked already.
Do I think it was a bad move? Yes. Is it the worst that has happened? Not by a long shot. In the grand "pick your battles" scheme, I'd let this one go for now. Heck, if you are on Brandywine, let me know a couple of the recipes you are missing and the next one of them I get, I'll mail to you for free.

You do realize that Turbine picked this bad solution long after being bought by Time Warner Incorporated - Warner Brothers.
Like Thornglen, I felt the choice Turbine picked is ill advised. I did not raise a lot of ruckus about it because I felt it was pointless. Honestly, I had bigger axes to grind. Other changes in Update 2 that I disliked even more.
It is old news at this point. It was done in Update 2. A few people had a tantrum. Turbine listened to the Update 2 feedback on this change - Not enough decibels on the noise meter. We are not going to do anything in Update 3 which went live late in May.
After two Updates, it is a done deal. If it makes you feel better raise a ruckus. I do not expect Turbine to put up with much of fussing before:
1) They remove your posts
2) They take away your ability to post on the forums.
Unfortunately a lot of times in all aspects of life, we encounter situations where we all feel that we have been wronged. The folks making the decision - the decision has been made - it will not be changed. You will have to decide how you are going to have to deal with it. Make sure to choose responses that are acceptable.
