    Issue with account cancellations.

    I canceled both my accounts on February 23. Based on my "anniversary dates," the primary one should drop to Premium on April 10th and the secondary one around April 20th.

    Instead, the primary one is showing as "Pending cancellation March 31st" and the secondary one is showing as "Pending cancellation July 31st." This is unexpected, and disconcerting. Of course, if Turbine wants to extend my VIP status for another 90 days for free, I won't complain. But if they charge my credit card, I will contest the charge.

    I'm hoping this is just a bug and both cancellations will occur on the correct dates.

    Contact turbine account support directly, they cannot deal with individual account issues like this over the forum.

    Phone's the fastest way if you can.

    Actually, the primary purpose of my post is to warn others considering cancellation: there appears to be some confusion, on the part of Turbine, regarding when accounts are supposed to be canceled.

    Rest assured, Turbine will be getting a very interesting phone call tomorrow, especially if my primary account is canceled ten days ahead of schedule. I have very, very little patience for "errors" involving my hard-earned money ;^)

    MINE DID THAT TOO!!!
    I was cancelling one account.

    I purchased [renewed my account to VIP] ONE month subscription for $14.99 it successfully went through [or so i thought] according to Turbine: My Account page.
    1-Month-$14.99 Pending Cancellation: March 30 ******

    As of yesterday [March 30th], I played my little heart out expecting my sub to run out at any time. It never did.
    I checked my subscription on Turbine: My Account page and it now says: Subscription Plan Special! 3-Months - $29.97 Pending Cancellation: July 31, ******

    I thought it was a gifted subscription from somebody but everybody that would do that said they didnt. Again, I would LOVE 90 free VIP days but if i get that card charged again, turbine will be having an earfull and i hope they have tranquilizers over the phone.

    We're aware of a cancel date display issue that is currently occurring for a small number of players. We're working to get this fixed.

    In the interim, if you want to verify your end date or subscription/account status, please contact the Account Management department and they will be happy to assist you.

    Probably should get that fixed, for a couple of reasons:

    A. Account management automation is supposed to reduce your customer service bill, not increase it by forcing players to call your CSRs when they weren't planning on it.

    B. There's a pretty high chance that players who are canceling their accounts are already annoyed at Turbine and inclined not to give you the benefit of the doubt.

    Just a thought, you know?

    Cancelled my VIP subscription, but the date of cancellation....

    About two months ago, I had cancelled my vip subscription to go back to lotro free to play. I wanted to check and make sure that it was actually cancelled because it said it would be in April. So I waited for two months, kind of forgetting until I went to go play today to check if it was cancelled...

    It is now april, and I signed into the billing to check it, and it said the new expiration date was July...when it was supposed to be cancelled now....I'm really confused by this because I'm not sure if I did something incorrectly, when I'm sure I didn't because there is an Upgrade now button. My mom is paying for this and I don't want her to be paying for something I don't use very often.

    Help?

    Well i just called the account management and they told me they couldnt do didly squat for me...What are your suggestions now?

    1. last sub i paid for was a ONE month sub....and magically it was upgraded to a THREE MONTH sub..How would you wonderful people of account management like to explain that???????????

    2. My subscription was canceled after the ONE month sub..that should have been the end of it....but for only 2 whole hours [thats 120 minutes] it successfully acknowledged my account as premium [WHICH IS WHAT I WANT]. what happened next? See 1. and then let me know so i know.

    3. I've never had a problem with turbine or lotro til now and for me to call [the wait was rather short...i applaud] and then turn around and say your S.O.L. and gotta pay your 3 months regardless even though my sub was already CANCELED?!?!?!

    ~Turbine...we have a love/hate relationship. If all you want is more money then make it useful to where your "lotro store and turbine points" get you more money...not by rippin people off that has been with you for years.

    Get it fixed. Me and many more would appreciate it thanks.

    (all posts/responses i make about this issue are being recorded to my computer.)
