Rise of Isengard? What about the Rise of PVP????

Hello my fellow Windfola-ers! It has been a long while, I am attempting to get back in touch with what has happened in lotro these past few months. So I hear there will be a Rise of Isengard expansion coming 2011, yes? Well, that brings me to my next question....what of the rise of PVMP?!?! Ever since Mirkwood came out, PVMP has been seriously broke and dead. On top of that, there was no additional content to aid mpers, no new regions to go to not even good gear to work for. So I say this, Turbine! I implore you, restore PVMP! One of the things I loved about LOTRO before they added the stupid, c-r-a-p-p-y and annoying "LOTRO store", was going onto my creep and beating the hell out of the freeps, invading fortresses, defeating bosses, and most important of all, camping the newbies. Now, I would be lucky to get a full raid on a fort once a month instead of two or three times a week. I would also be lucky to gather a good raid group and have an actual battle with another full horde of freeps.

So, my question is to you Windfola-ers, should they focus in this next expansion on restoring pvmp to what it once was? Or should they focus it on something else? What would that be and why? Or if you like it better this way, do you guys agree or disagree with me on where Turbine should focus their energy on? Why or why not?

Re: Rise of Isengard? What about the Rise of PVP????

It has been said by Turbine and the developers that PvMP will get a major revamp with Isengard expansion and a new map as well
Sam: “It’s like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn’t want to know the end, because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you, that meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folks in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going because they were holding on to something.”
Frodo:“What are we holding on to, Sam?”
Sam: “That there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it’s worth fighting for.”

From what has been written monster will be available for f2p and premium with the expansion. It has not been stated how this will come about store purchase perhaps? I imagine this will result in a large increase in activity.

I can't say I have much sympathy for someone whineing the PVP zones are dead when he admits to camping newbies.

I think this line is what probably confused Brian. Like him, I read it to indicate that you longed for the "good ol' days" of camping newbies ... not that the recent decline in PvMP participation has relegated you to doing so.

Personally, I disdain PvMP and would rather the Developers invest their time on just about anything other than the 'Moors. But I accept that Turbine should service all aspects of the game. More players ... regardless whether I share their reasons for playing ... mean a healthier game. And the PvMPers deserve shiny new things now and then, just like the rest of us.

Well see, I do like camping newbies, its funny, but like I said before, thats ALL you can do. You cant get a group together for raids often, you cant take back forts, let alone invade them, the only thing you can do is camp, which is not a bad thing, but obviously it can get very boring very quickly.

I don't know what server you are talking about but it isn't Windfola. TDH bring the fight nearly every night and W A R P A T H and Ferveo are active to try and counter it (with the Banana Brothers running about terrorising freeps). If there are a number of freeps out, then there is usually a raid formed.
'Forts' (or Keeps if thats what you mean) are being flipped sometimes 2, 3 times a day, so.......
Yes the map is the same but a new one is inbound....allegedly
IMO its more active now than it has been for a long, long time.

    Freeps - 6 x Lvl 65s, 1 x Lvl 15, 2 x Lvl 10
    Creeps - 1 x BA, 3 x Wl, 4 x Wvr, 3 x Wargs, 3 x Def, 3 x Rvr
    Given up.

Anyway, pvmp needed a revamp, there are people who play it and it is part of the end-game for part of the crowd that get bored of pve and 'may' bring more people as well. The small upgrade to the monster side was only the keep some people play, though I don't believe they're that great (kinda lam-o).

Lotro's pvp has a lot of potential as it pull its roots from RvR and I've heard/seen enough of pvp games to know what could be done to improve the game.

And for those who care more or less about pvmp, you should know that Isenguard will be the rebirth or the dead of pvmp. Btw you got some kewl instances with last patch
If it isn't about FlameThrower, Grenade and Rocket Launcher, you're playing the wrong classes, race and game..

Uh, yeah, it is. And lame to boot. Not much for PvMP myself, but there is actually quite a bit going on in the Moors whenever I have headed out that way. Caeser is right, those groups/kins are out there pretty regularly. Which means to me that you aren't as sincere in looking for the action as you might be as simply "camping newbies". Or it's the safest way to pad your stats, whatever.... Sorry to be so blunt, but camping in any game is annoying.

I think that f2p has nothing to do with the moors. People are almost every night out in moors and having fun. I think you should check out your server, 'cause that's now Windfola

The OP hasnt played in the Moors other then on a 40 something and not for a very long time. So I would just ignore his posts. From most of his other posts all he does is gather what he thinks are facts from posts of other players that play the game and then make a post like this one just to see what kind of responses he can get.

In other words just a Troll, move along nothing to see here folks.
