/signed. This is a great proposal, it would make being in a kinship much more fun and dynamic, as well as more organized. I really hope turbine can update the kinship system to something along these lines, even if they aren't willing to adopt your design completely, although I don't see why they wouldn't.
I came on to this forum specifically to make a suggestion about kins, but this already says it. As an officer it's hard to retain members in a kin because we all have playing different times and can't really say when we will be on. With these suggestions, particularly the one about calender, it would be so much easier to plan kin events, raids and instances.
I would like the GMs to take this suggestion up to the game developers and let them know that this idea is a must-have for this game. Even though our word on these forums may not be important to you, at least we can reconcile on this suggestion for some development of the kinship system on LOTRO which has not been developed these long, marvellous years.
I would like to emphasise my signature, through its translation: "Beyond a certain point there is no return. This point has to be reached."
We need to be at the point where we are using a newly-developed kinship system which can not only benefit Turbine in the long-term, but also raiders, role-players, casual players, me, others and above all: everyone!
If anything it takes to get this idea a reality, I would be happy if Turbine were to make this feature an upgrade which can be at a price suitable for Turbine to earn a break-even or profit from the resources invested to make this idea work. I think through the amount of responses and the amount of people who are signing this idea to their interests show how much LOTRO and Turbine can benefit from a dynamic guild system.
I see this thread was started a year ago and Turbine still did nothing regarding Kinships. The essence of playing mmo is to be a part of the community that's why we create guilds/clans/kinships. In LotRO I think kinships are useless, they don't give anything more than kinchat.
I agree with all suggestions. What bothers me the most is kin bank, not only for gold but also for items. Lets face it 3 chest AREN'T enough for a kinship with hundred members. We store tons of crafting ingredients, crafted items (pots, scrolls, food, dyes, etc.), looted goods and many more, everything for the sake of improving our kinmates. There should be bank for lets say 500 slots where everyone can donate money and store items. Permitions to withdraw should be set by officers.
Here you go my 3 cents regarding this matter, and sorry for my english

This would be wonderful if Turbine would implement this or something similar. But the thing most Kin Leaders would like is to have PERMISSIONS just like we do with our Kin Houses. If we want our Co-leader or officers to be able to promote others to officers, etc... Why not let us do it? The Leader should always have the final say on permissions of course, but at least let us have the options to run the kinship the way we want to.
RoR will be a solo-focussed expansion. That much is clear. And I'm truly fine with that, I solo a lot, like 99% of the time. And I'm not the only (casual) type who does, I wager.
However, what makes LOTRO a MMO for me is the kinship I'm in. The kinships are the social cornerstones of this MMO.
A kinship revamp would do a lot to balance the shift towards solo. It would also help to keep players playing longer.
Also, it'd be a sign of appreciation for all the voluntairy kinleaders and officers who put in their own time to help make the kinships alive. Thumbs up to you all!
This is absolutely AWESOME! Grats for the job guys, you did really good!
It's one of the best proposal I've seen so far in the forum.
Hope to see it in game soon!
Im a kinleader and i have been for a year now, i LOVE these ideas, its always been a little struggle making the kin feel like a true alliance of friends, im all for these ideas. and an update on the alliance system, to where you can make a list of the different kins you want to be in an alliance with and their names will turn the same color and there will be an alliance chat option. 10/10 love all these ideas. lets get em to turbine
Miembro de The Proud Ones, kinship hispano de LotRO en el servidor [EN]Evernight.
Main: Nyaku, Dwarf Guardian
Main Alts: Sonah (Captain), Xaika (Minstrel) y Mindun (Warden)
Creeps: Nyakus, Nyakub, Nyakud, Nyakul, Nyakua y Nyakuw
for the past 5 years i have either been a kinleader or officer, many times the kinships have struggled to get people working with the kinship. The ideas on this give a kin a real meaning right now they are just stepping stones for people to do raids. They have to mean more and these ideas are perfect! I hope turbine really do look at these suggestion threads but i think this will be to much work for them to want to undertake .

This proposal was added for more than a year ago, and there is extremely few suggestions that get trough to turbine so dont count on it. But we can allways wish for it...
great ideas there, would be a great addition to the game! would love some more kin incentives for a variety of stuff to do, as running the same instances over and over can get old..
Turbine, make our dreams come true, implement this system, lag free, STAT!!

I love this thread. Long after i have quit the game, and come back to check out the forums, this thread will still be shining bright yellow in my "subscribed threads". New players calling for Turbine to give them this, old players sighing dishearteningly. Ill just feel a wave of nostalgia and remember how excited i was the first time ive read this proposition.
Maybe another day and another mmo.

Thanks Let's hope something will come of it besides the new store items that seem to be taking inspiration from some of the perks I suggested (think the sales from those should contribute to a kinship revamp).
I see a lot of posts from people who ask for some way to halt levelling or to slow it down. For them I think it would be a blessing
I loved practically everything you write in the opening posts and would really like to see something like this implemented in-game.
Three suggestions (I hope I'm not repeating something from the 14 pages I didn't read):
1. Add a blessing that would give -100% exp from all sources, or let the current blessing reach 100%. You have no idea how many people I know who desperately want this option.
2. Allow Guild/Alliance leaders to designate a quest focus. If an RP guild wants their story to take them into Moria or something, allow the leader to make those particular quests give some sort of incentive.
3. Along the same lines, allow the guild/alliance leaders to activate certain missions of their own design, possibly even social missions that would allow a kinmate with the appropriate permissions to decide whether or not a group or individual successfully achieved the goal. A very simple example of this would be hide and seek. Give the hider permission for that mission (It would be a part of the mission design) so that they can mark themselves "Found by So-and-so" and transfer the permission to the next hider.
Goodness, I only just realized how old this is! I hope its resurrection has positive impact...
I guess it is wishfull thinking on my part, but it would be greatly appreciated if Turbine would let the community know if there are any plans at all to bring at least some of these great ideas to life in one of the future expansions/updates. As I see a large community of players supporting this initiative, yet unfortunately no word from Turbine at present on this.
Please Turbine, just a headsup that it is indeed on the agenda to look at the kinship-system in Lotro again.
Just looking at the amount of players that support this initiave creates a clear picture of the painfull need for this in the community.
It's such a shame they don't have time to even review this and give us a bit of feedback at Turbine. Too busy installing and revamping apparel dummies, I guess. Once they're through with that, they'll probably have to start on the in-game billboards advertising the store. So much to do, so little time.
