LOTRO stuck on loading screen when attempting to enter world

Would a laptop with the following specs be able to run LOTRO on the lowest possible settings?

-Running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (Licensed if it actually matters)
    -Intel i3 1.33Ghz
    -4 gig ram
    -500 gig HD
-Integrated Mobile Intel 5 Series/ 3400 Series Chipset Family

I'm curious because I tried installing and I got as far as the character selection screen but the screen background was pitch black and there was no character preview. I decided to push on and clicked the "enter world" button and it went to the loading screen and has been there with absolutely NO PROGRESS even after 4 hours of waiting with only LOTRO running.

It shouldn't be the internet because I tried with the following speeds
    -Home connection :100 Mbps
-Office connection: Fiber Optic connection that said 1GBps
-My Computer Shop connection: 5000 Mbps

    and still the same results.
    Please help.

And another thing, are the new expansions like "Mines of Moria" needed to run the game now? Because the LOTRO I'm running says " The Seige of Mirkwood". It's just an expansion so I don't think it's the problem but still just to play safe, is it?

Re: LOTRO stuck on loading screen when attempting to enter world

    Shadows of Angmar - Game
Mines of Moria - Shadows of Angmar + Mines of moria.
Siege of Mirkwood = Shadows of Angmar + Mines of moria + Siege of Mirkwood.

the people can't play siege of angmar or mines of moria, haves to be siege of mirkwood, and that haves all entire game and previously expansions in it, so don't worry.

Can I ask those who are having this issue to check something, to see if my issue is the same?

When you get to your character select screen, bring up your options -> Graphics and de-select "Full Screen". This will ensure you are running in windowed mode. Then, when you click "Enter World", watch your task bar in the bottom right and see if your network maintains its connection. I had the same issue listed here, but found that I was losing my Internet connection completely when I logged in, and it happens from three separate locations, so I know it's not my router. When it happens, I have to close the LOTRO window (effectively force quitting the game), and immediately reload it. Usually I can get in after 2-3 cycles of doing this.

I am having this exact problem as well. I first noticed it when I tried to login today at around 2:30 EST.

Re: LOTRO stuck on loading screen when attempting to enter world

I've noticed that the loading bar right before you get to the character screen has some trouble finishing out the last bit. When it does, the character selection screen is completely black where the avatar and background would normally be. Any attempt to enter the world with any character meets with failure, as the loading bar makes no progress, but the ring symbol pulses, indicating that the game isn't frozen.

Like I said, I first noticed the problem at around 2:30 PM EST. I tried reinstalling the LOTRO client, to no avail.

    I'm on the Imladris server.

    Exclamation Fixed it.

Fixed it. The issue for me was dx10. Go to options in the character selection menu and select dx9, restart, and it should be good to go.

Hooray for very old threads.... my primary laptop crashed as did various back ups, now I am on my really, really old laptop (missing the high res already) and had this same problem, turning from DX10 to DX9 seems to be doing the trick!

    Thank you!
Everything fits, otherwise we'll make it fit!
