I only see options to choose 9 and 10 in the graphics menu in-game. New drivers for my video card just this week, What's up? I'll post the dxdiag info below.

Correct, only ATI 5000 series and above, or NVIDIA 400 series and above support DX11.

I am using an XFX RadeonHD 5750 that is full DirectX11 capable on Windows7 32bit and I can not set the game to use anything above DirectX 9. It does not even give me an option to use DirectX10. According to my dxdiag I am running DirectX 11.

Check all shortcuts to the LotRO executable files and make sure that you're not running them in any compatibility modes. (right-click each of them and then click properties to check)

Once that is done, you might also delete your userpreferences.ini in your MyDocs\LotRO directory.

(if neither of those suggestions fix it, post your dxdiag)

I'm having the same issue.

I was running at DX11 quite happily before, but since I did the latest update, it's only letting me choose DX9 - all the DX10 and 11 stuff is now greyed out on my graphic options.

I tried to force it into DX11 by setting GraphicsCore=D3D11 in the UserPreferences.ini file, but when the game boots up, it still only shows DX9, with 10 and 11 unselectable. If I then inspect the .ini file, it's changed it back to D3D9.

Tried deleting the UserPreferences.ini file and reloading the game, same problem. Still greyed out.

Installed the latest graphics drivers from nvidia, problem still there.

I'm running out of ideas now - anyone know what's happened since the last update?

As Hurin suggested, you'll want to make sure that none of the game's executable files are set to run in compatibility modes.

Try opening your game installation directory ('C:\Program Files\Turbine\The Lord of the Rings Online' by default) then right-click "TurbineInvoker.exe" (should have a 'one ring' icon) and select the Properties option. From here click the compatibility tab and make sure the file is not set to run in any compatibility mode. Repeat this process for "TurbineLauncher.exe" and "lotroclient.exe", then try launching the game again to check whether you can now enable DX11.

I for some reason had it in XP compatibility mode. I unchecked that and it worked. I now have full DX11. Thanks.

Im using Windows 7 and it will not let me higher than DX10. It also only shows the Male and Female selections in 'Race', excluding out the Dwarf, Elf, and Hobbit. I cannot use LoreMaster, and the 'continue' button is shaded and I cannot interact with it. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Going forward rather than resurrecting a year old thread I would recommend starting a new one.

Per the description your system most likely has an Intel model graphics card that erroneously tells DirectX (and thereby the game) that it can support DX10/11 mode which it can't as it applies to 3d graphics.

Try what's outlined here.
