Question: The Twisted Branch that drops from Harmon Rushes - can that drop for anyone who kills him, or does it only drop if you actually have the HotW2 quest? In other words, could I potentially buy it from the AH or acquire it with a higher level alt, or do I actually need my woodworker to be part of the kill?
As Crell pointed out, the crafter must be part of the group that makes the kill and must be in the radar range of the actual kill (no hiding in Bree!). On another crafting quest, by an error my character got a blade for a dagger that the character I was escorting on the quest needed (both of us got the drop, as my character was a weaponsmith also but had completed the quest earlier). I was unable to use the blade, sell it or give it away and eventually destroyed it.
If you kill the quest target without the crafter in need of the quest being there, the Branch simply does not appear.
If I had received this quest prior to the update, am I still able to complete it? I've noticed that it has moved from the Quest Log to my Crafting Window as a one-time use recipe. Do I still to find Harmon Rushes (does he even still exist)? If so, how do i find him since I don't seem to have anyway of adding this to my quest tracker. If not, am I able to get the twisted branch from somewhere else? Or is this just a useless recipe occupying space in my Crafting Window now?
