Thread: AU/NZ Kinship has been made!

Since there seem to be no AU/NZ/Oceania-majority timezone kins, I made one: Stragglers and Strangers. Couldn't think of a better name to be honest.... however we've grown attached to the name and are proud Stragglers . We're currently Rank 9, and we have a kinship house.

Basics:
- mixed kinship so any race
- any class, although it would be nice to get an even mix of classes. We do currently have a pretty good balance of "roles" but we are a tad short on Captains and Burglars... but we will take anyone.
- crafting/vocations doesn't matter
- I'm not anti-RP (I like to have a bit of fun with my characters too) but don't expect the kin chat to be all in-character
- no age limits but I dislike people who act like children
- happy for this to be a very freestyle, social kin, helping people level, doing those pesky full fellowship quests and maybe make some friends/friendly acquaintances. We can tackle the harder stuff when we get to it.

If you want to know a bit about me: I'm in my 30s, am female (not that it should matter), and live not too far from Melbourne. I work full-time, I used to play WoW, doing 40 and 20 man raids in original and BC, as DPS (mage) and had a rent-a-tank for smaller dungeons. I've been an officer in a couple of guilds. I am F2P/Premium but I don't see why that would make any difference

I know the name's a bit "meh" but I couldn't be bothered looking up how to say "ANZAC/Oceania" in Quenya Name doesn't matter anyway really, it's A Group Of People In Similar Timezones, and we'll see how we go.

UPDATE I've been offered the chance to take over an existing Rank 7 Kinship that just has one person's characters in it. It has a kin house already. It's "The Undying Fellowship" and the existing leader/members would be happy to transfer all leadership and whatnot to me. Does that sound like a better deal?

I think I may be up for leaving my current kin for this.....we have quite a few members, but its only like 3 or 4 of us that are really "active" (most haven't logged in for for 20+ days).

As to a little info on me? well, I live not far from Melbourne too, I work night shift - usually get home round 7am or so, play for a couple hours, wake up round 5pm-ish and play for a couple hours......and play for a bit on weekends (depending on how busy i am)

I've been loving the whole crafting thing, and love being able to help out in a kin (not that the Kin i am part of needed much) I'd be open to a little light RP, but since i have no real experience with that in an MMO setting, that could be amusing.

And Wulfdeyne is the guardian you'd be looking for

It's barely 48 hours old so things might still be a bit flaky/not set up right but the forums seem to work.

Let me know if this is still running, I am looking at joining an AUS/NZ kin as my past kin's have been very quiet and mostly US based.

Yes, we are still around. The best bet would be to send rezah or kethean a tell/mail in game..usually one or the other are around. We'd be welcome to have join us

We will take anyone who is interested and active, though it would be nice to get a bit more varied range of classes... so: minstrels, burglars, rune-keepers, and lore-masters in AU/NZ timezones, if you're interested please drop us a line. We won't turn you away if you're not one of these classes though.

Still active, as has already been said. As to how active? im there at least a few hours every day, as are most of the officers. Others pop in when they get a chance, so its never devoid of people

We've formed a fresh raiding alliance with Of The Relic, too, as they have some Oceania/Australasia players in the same timezone who, like us, wanted to see some signs of life during their normal play times. So far we've just been doing some GS dailies but we're working on doing more.

And just to see if we could, three of us went into Urugarth and went and killed Athpukh for the class quest item for one of our kinmates. It probably would have been quicker if we had a healer, but we got there. Class quest item obtained, one happy guardian! If you're the type who likes to give things a go regardless of what classes are in your group and what level your tank is (or even if you have one at all!) then you'd fit right into Stragglers and Strangers

We are a fairly casual kinship so far, but we give the harder stuff a try when one of our members needs a hand.

Still here, still recruiting, still slowly growing. Stragglers and Strangers are a Rank 8 kinship now, with not too long before we hit Rank 9. Not that we need that extra 200 member spaces or whatever it is... we aren't huge, but we're helpful.

I am part of a small GMT+12 kin and I figure we shouldn't compete for members in such under-populated timezone.

Stragglers and Strangers is always recruiting. We aren't huge, but we're helpful. The kin has a decent variety of classes and crafters at a lot of different levels, all AU/NZ timezone. If you're seeing no signs of life because of the timezone differences, give us a try.

Secondly, you will not find a friendlier or more helpful group in this or any game so if you are in our neck of the woods, C'mon down!!

Stragglers and Strangers hit Rank 10 about a week ago. A very nice Australia Day present for us! Who knows what will happen on Waitangi Day?!
