It should be fairly straightforward. It's been awhile, but I believe that if you're in-game and try setting the graphics setting to the highest value, it will offer you the opportunity to upgrade to the highest graphical setting. I may, however, be mistaken. Please do let us know!

I, too, thought it worked that way, and I've been telling players to do it for a long time.
However, I just tried it last night and it's no longer possible to "upgrade" to the highest resolution textures this way. (Either that, or it was never possible, and I was just imagining things.)
The consensus seems to be that the safest way to accomplish this is to uninstall the standard-resolution client, then download and install the high-resolution client.

Wow, thanks for letting me know! I agree with you-- it must have changed, as I recall doing this before.
I'm going to cite you in the "Answers to Your Questions" thread (linked in my signature). I'll be sure to give you credit. Also, +Reputation for the helpfulness and not chewing me out for having outdated information!
EDIT:
You have given out too much Reputation in the last 24 hours, try again later.

Hopefully I'll be able to give it to you soon.
Thanks! It would be rather hypocritical of me to chew you out, since I have been spreading the same outdated information until I finally tried it for myself last night.

Is your user data and game progress preserved when you uninstall and reinstall LOTRO? Is there anything that should be backuped first?
