Who is the most active kinship on Nimrodel

I just started playing again after some time off and my kinship has really died down. There is usually only a small handful of us on at a time. I am currently lvl 50 RK and was considering moving to a more active kinship where I can run 6 -12 man instances on the weekends and do group content.... Any sugesstions. Also what is the etiquette for leaving a kinship

Re: Who is the most active kinship on Nimrodel

There are many active kinships, some accept members less than max level, some don't. I suggest you read each kins recruitment thread and find one that fits you. As for etiquette, either post a goodbye on your kins website or just tell whoever is on at the time why you are leaving, or send your leader mail.

Sons of Durin is a large kin with lots of active members. Try us out! If we are not a good fit you can leave with no hard feelings. And if you want to come back you are welcome back!

We are a family friendly kin which translates to some rules that need to be understood. Our kin website has a Kinship Etiquette that needs to be read.

Send a tell to an officer if you would like to try Sons of Durin as your next kinship. Here is a small list of some active officers. I cannot be sure what hours they are on. You can also find a Sons of Durin member and ask them for the name of an online offcer you can send a tell to.

Officers often available are: Jubelee, Dakeras, Culian, Logrjigi, Egilad, Sulis, Arladriel, Sammybo, Serren, Belraene, Tomborn, Gonnhirr, Borat, Brugo, Lassdae, Saelretil to name a few.

Kin events upcoming: Logrjigi's Beir Stein Adventure, All Loremaster Turtle Run, All Warg Tribe.

There are three very active raid groups and we are actively seeking more leaders to create more raid groups.

Good luck in your hunt for a kin!

First thing first, get closer to level 60. At level 50, you are very limited in the number of instances there are to run (CD, Uru, Helegrod, and Rift & scalable classics), besides the limitations on the number of instances, the number of players around level 50 to group with is even more limited. Get up into Moria, 56+, and PUG some 6 mans. The majority of instances that people are doing are level 60, or level 65 instances. If you level slowly, you may be lucky enough to skip the radiance grind which is currently required for any raid besides the turtle.

In regards to this. Yes, SoD has (or had) 1500 characters in it, last I knew, about 900 of them had not logged in in the last 3 months... The remaining, we either in one of the raid groups (that don't change members very often, so don't plan on getting into one of these right away), or they are somewhat ignored. As someone who used to run a smaller kin, a LOT of people who approached me looking to join my kin were people who were fed up with being ignored and getting no help from these larger kins.

On a side note, if you haven't done it yet...

    /joinchannel glff
/joinchannel gooc (unlikely attempt to revive a nearly dead channel)

GLFF = global looking for fellowship... treated like gooc should be, so there is quite a bit of spam, but a necessity when looking for pugs.

As far as leaving your current kin, gotta agree with Spidey, at MINIMUM, send an in-game mail to your kin leader.

Re: Who is the most active kinship on Nimrodel

I hope negative comments aren't taken too seriously. There is no level requirement to joining Sons of Durin.

I am not sure where the information was gleaned on membership, but information stated is incorrect.

There are many players actively forming up groups. Requests to join fellowships start in kinchat then progress to GLFF if a group cannot be filled. In otherwords, lots of activity!

Anyone persons experience in the game, good or bad, is subject to a variety of reasons. Let's make the best of it and have some fun!

    See you in the game!

Re: Who is the most active kinship on Nimrodel

Whatever kin you join, remember that you're only going to get out of it what you put in. Sons of Durin is a fantastic kinship and as a relatively new player I've never experienced any of what the previous poster has described as negative. If you're interested in raiding, make that known to your new kinship and be active and available. Don't be offended if groups are looking for a specific class or level of experience/gear - this is a game and it's important to remember that fact. In my experience, SoD is equally accommodating to all players from casual to hardcore and if you chose to make your home there I think you'd be happy.

I have a very fluid work schedule and have been on at all hours - there's *always* people on and happy to help. While other kinships may be ahead of us in progression or more focused and active in PvP (I don't know how we stack up), I don't think anyone is more active across the board. I think the kin recently (within the last 3 months) pruned a lot of inactive players because I don't think the roster is anywhere near full anymore. As a primarily solo player there's an almost overwhelming amount of kinship events and every time I have tried to be involved, I'm involved for hours.

To the previous poster, remember that raiding is as much about individual skill as it is about player synergy: knowing how the players around you are going to respond to things is an invaluable tool and lets everyone play to their fullest. It's very likely that the players you recruited joined and expected to immediately be raiding in the core group or carried through instances, then became offended that they weren't swamped with geared people begging to help them.

Re: Who is the most active kinship on Nimrodel

I ended up going with SOD right after i posted. I simply went it o the game and sorted players by what kinship and saw the SOD was by far the largest.

So far it I really like it... You are right, there are a lot of 65s and not that many in the 50s. But I have met about 4 who are at my lvl (57 currently) that I group regulary with.

I have been running Ammuninas 6 Man daily, GS Daily, hele mark runs, and just about anything else at my level with no problem getting a group in this kin. Most of the time we dont even have to go outside of the kin to fill a single spot.

There are also crafters who will make whatever if u provide the mats, and ppl gifting leg items that arent for their class.

This is by far the best kin i have been in.

This is completely false, we remove inactive members weekly after 30 days of inactivity. We currently have around 1400 active characters and yes I would know I am a co-founder of SoD and have a very good idea on the numbers far more then this Kril.

Re: Who is the most active kinship on Nimrodel

I would like to say that being the largest kin or 'most active' kin really doesn't have anything to do with enjoying the game. I've played on several different servers and have been in many types of kinships. The important thing to remember when looking for a kinship is finding people you get along with. You could be in the largest most active kin and find that you're surrounded by a bunch of jerks, or you can be in a smaller kin and find a home. Or vice-versa.

Bad-mouthing kins that you are not part of is just plain ridiculous. Everyone has a different idea of what kind of people they wish to associate with. Just because a specific group do not meet your standards (Or perhaps you don't meet theirs) is no reason to spread malicious rumors.

This statement says it all. Every kin is going to have a personality and those kins attract personalities of players they get along with.

Someone in the thread also said they sorted by kin? Okay well I have 9 toons all in All Shall Fade and most of the others do as well. If you want to check activity go to an area where you are questing and look for those people fellowing. That will give you an idea of who is on and who is not.

Time Zone -- What time zone are you in, some kins will tell you they base everything on CST or PST..ect. To get the most out of your kin you might ask what time zone they primarily play in.

Level should not matter, a good kin should help you along the way, but put in as much as you want to recieve.

I was on a couple of kins before I found All Shall Fade. Knowledgeable players and normally enough on at all times to fill the 12 man raid or to find someone to help you with those pesky small fellowship quests.

Completely true for us, we have, i'd say 500 members, none of whom actually come on anymore

Thumbs down Re: Who is the most active kinship on Nimrodel

I have to say all kins on alot of servers are active at different times. so there isnt really 1 active kin in a world/server.
This thread is a big mistake.
