My name is Atesca and I am still currently looking for a kinship. I have posted before and thought maybe I should update my post with a fresher one. I am looking for a kinship that isnt large, and is intrested in running together. I have alts I do not mind running, but my main is my guard. (Alts: Lvl 65- Champ, Burg, Rk, Cappy, and Mini). I am not too intrested in a heavy raid kin, however, I do like to run any instance; I just dont want to live in the F2P zone. I am not intrested in a large kin is the big thing with me. To clarify large kin; i mean when i type in the kin name on the Lotro search, and its shows me 250+ members I am not intrested. I dont mean to sound rude or offensive, its just not for me, and I wish to avoid any misunderstandings ahead of time. I hope to hear from someone. thanks for your time.
we are a smaller, tight-knit Kinship, we sit around 19 active accounts. We have affiliations with other Kinship's, so we gain the benefit of numbers when it comes to running Instances, if needed, while still being a smaller Kinship.
We would rather have a small Kinship of quality people that know one another, than a large one full of strangers.
If this seems like something you are interested in, please feel free to message one of our leadership.

Just a tip so you compare apples with apples:
250+ avatars do not mean 250+ members. Kinships that don't allow alts have a much lower avatar / player ratio. Kinships like mine (which I believe is like the majority) that allow any alts in have a very high avatar / player ratio.
For example, my kinship has 328 avatars, which would seem to be over your maximum. However, we have only 79 active actual players for an average of about 4.1 avatars per player. Some of our players have 10+ avatars to their name.
Just an FYI.

I should have figured you'd drop by soon...yes I am aware of what you are mentioning, we discussed this once before, you and I, and your right on more than one count, but also like your kin, which is a large kin and why I strayed away from it. It gives me a fair indication which usually is followed by some communication. But like the other times i have posted I always welcome inputt!! Have a nice day
Kinship size is hard to judge. If you judge by characters, altoholics tend to make your kinship look huge. If you judge by "active" players, then you have to define active. Is an active player someone that logs in once a month, once a week, or for at least 3-5 hours every day? Or do you attempt to judge size based on the number of people you have online during your kinships' prime time?
My kinship is quite large. We have just over 100 active players (that have logged in within the past 30 days - hard to keep accurate track beyond that, I'm afraid). How does my ~100 active players compare with TSK's 79 active players? I have no idea.
We have enough players (and some alts) to put together 3 static raid groups a week, a bg pug, a dn pug, and a thorog pug. During our prime times we've had as many as 30 players online at once (which really does make the kinship feel large - when the second page of the roster requires a scroll bar).
Taking into account the various level of "active" that players can be, I'd say between 15-30 active players is about the size Atesca is looking for in a kinship. A kinship that at the right times can get together a 12-man raid, but usually has just the right number of people online for a 6-man instance on a good night. Somewhere around there, I'd guess.
Not to totally derail your thread Atesca, but I wanted a place to think out-loud on the kinship size dilemma.
Hope you find your right kinship sir! Best of luck!

Brushfire
its ok brushfire, I think I'll stop posting becuase this is the second time this has happened, it seems in looking for a kin it gets undersome folks skin and instead of lookin or exchanging information, the post becomes something different. It sort of goes from what Im looking for into something that all of a sudden needs explainations and definations. Anyway, take care Brushfire hope your holidays went good.
