Thread: Farewell from Elite Squad

The Elite Squad is closing its doors for awhile. The reason we are making this post isn't to make this public, but to apologize for the behavior of certain members of our kinship. Since the begining of our existence as a kinship we tried our best to be part of the community in a positive way, even more since we are a brazillian guild and in most MMOs we carry the stigma of troublemakers or worse. I belive we achieved that goal since, for most part, we are respected by the PvE and PvP community of this server.

The problem is most of our veteran players, the ones that created the kinship and uphold this general ideia got bored with the game and left, and sadly the new people are not living up to the ideias that we always preached, despite our best efforts to teach them. We don't want to see the good name of our kinship sullied by people that care very little for all the we worked so hard to build and don't share the respect that we have for the community of this game in general.

For the game developers we say our farewell and let you know that you really let us down. Most of the veterans from Elite Squad are lifetimers and still we can't find the desire to log in the game once a week to do the single raid that we have right now. The game has gone stale for a very long time and is heading downhill each day. Lack of content, lack of quality, lack of interesting things to do. The only thing that is present is the endless and boring grind. This was a great game once and had many chances to be one of the best, but somewhere along the way you guys just lost it. Maybe you can find the right way eventualy, i just hope you are not too late when you do.

We thank you all for everything, for being a good community to us, for not discriminating our brazillian guild, for giving us a good game (while you could). It has been a long and interesting ride. We did a lot in the last few years, we managed to kill every raid boss in the game. But now it's time to let go of everything and move ahead. Thanks one last time, see you all around.

And for all our friends in Meneldor, we hope to see each other again in another game soon.

It was a fun run, thank you everyone that helped us in any way, i'm sure we will meet again very soon in any future game.

I think we need to have a talk with Mr. Pinheiro before this goes any further.

Sad to see you guys go, but I totally understand. We haven't had any new end-game content for a year. That is inexcusable and hence we are seeing people leave the game in massive numbers.

I don't blame folks one bit for bailing on this game... as it's no longer even a shadow of its former self.

I wish the departing ES members a fond farewell. May you find enjoyment in RL as well as in any future virtual adventures you may partake in.

I have always had great respect and admiration for the members of Elite Squad, although mostly quiet about your accomplishments you guys were always at the cutting edge of conquering new content.

Too sad I came in late, didn't became a 'veteran' and so, didn't do all that the officers did. When came in to ES and started (inexperienced by that time) playing the Raids, most of them were already getting tired of it all.

Turbine! Since Isengard is a long way to go, why not givin' us some more areas? Northern Eriador is not all explored. There's the Northern Mirkwood and all the way until Lonely Mountain I (among other thousands of players) would love to see too. Would be a good Idea for new content, aside from the Mordor target. Maybe you wouldn't loose EliteSquad by now with more content (content is different from updates) to keep it all interesting.

Hope we don't loose any other High-End Kinship.

This makes me sad. You guys were always pushing the limits and giving other kins something to look up to. Hope to see you guys back soon if content is released that suits your desires. It seems like alot of kins are hurting on Meneldor.

I miss fellowing with some of those already gone, and I'm going to miss those of you I currently fellow with -- class acts, and great players all. Happy hunting wherever you end up...and I suspect some of us will meet again in a galaxy far far away

I only grouped with the kin PvE a couple of times when we all were figuring out the rift, but always had great admiration for you all.

Even in PvMP I enjoyed seeing your names on the other side.

I too miss the old LotRo, but it is not entirely gone, just hidden.

So sorry to see you go Brunodoc, have some awesome memories of you with us in Helegrod; and anytime I fellowed with any of your kin, they were always great team players and a good reflection of your team tag. So many great friends have left, makes me sad. But that's a part of an aging game. Best of luck in all that you do.

I agree with this. Take care ES and hope to see you in RoI or when things look more suitable for end game kins.

Turbine, would still love to see some kinship only upgrades in LotRO. A ask the community on this might be really neat.

I only can remember a few instances I ran with ES back in the day and it a lot of fun getting to know some of your members, especially Safada. I will admit, it has been quite sad to see a game with such promise end up at this state. Helegrod/Rift/Moria were a lot of fun; however, since then the game has been a disappointment. Even with lifetime, I rarely feel like logging in.

Most of you were great, perhaps we'll see ES emerge in another mmo? If not, I wish you all the best.

I'm not *completely* gone. As Mullian, I'm have a lifetime account. I just don't feel like logging in to do... anything.

But I'll definitely be back for the next update. If I'll play for 5 days or 5 months, only Turbine can tell!

Having not played for quite a while myself, I'm glad I happened upon the forum at just the right moment to bid you ado. There were some great times back in the day when we could Raid for hours on end in Hele or the Rift and enjoy it week after week. Elite Squad was always one of my most admired Kinships, always respectful, yet competitive, friendly, and helpful. Can't say enough good things!

P.S. Okay, at second glance it looks like I wasn't here "at just the right moment". Apparently the Meneldor forum doesn't receive enough posts to bump a couple month old thread out of the top 10 posts

Hope to see you guys come back for the next update as well. Ddint get a chance to group with many of you, but the ones i did group with were always pleasant to play with.

Now that rad is gone I hope this is an indication of things to come from trubine as it seems to me they are slowly trying to get the game back to where it was in SoA and that it will entice some ES members to come back.
