Coal is supposed to drop as a bonus resource off metal nodes. Yet it has been months since I have seen any drop from a node rich or otherwise. Am I (and everyone else I have personally talked to) just incredibly unlucky, is this a bug or did it get stealthed nerfed/removed without being mentioned in any of the patch notes?

Coal was removed as a node drop a few updates ago. I don't recall exactly which update or whether it was in the patch notes, but coal definitely does not drop from nodes anymore.
