Thread: Undeciphered Moon-Letters and Long-Lost Second Age Texts

Eregion. Look at the orc infested ruins near Echad Eregion (Pembar is one, can't recall the other name to the south).

I’ve been farming for these items around the Himbar region of Angmar, but the drop rate is horrible. Just wondering if anyone knows of a better location where these drop.

I get the Undeciphered Moon-Letters now and then from the dwarves in Misty Mtns. Never ever had Long-Lost Second Age Text drop from a mob. They are both available in the Vases in MM and Angmar if you are a Scholar, but those nodes are not plentiful. I will check out the Northern Eregion this afternoon. Thanks for that hint!

People are trying to get rich in AH from the texts. 2g + for 50 of them.

Yep,even seen as high as 8 gold for 75.Ok,I will pay them the amount. . . . .but ALL of it in copper,and they have to insert every single copper coin into their ****,one at a time.I feel your frustration Lorekeeper.It is not that I cannot raise those funds,it is the point of the matter.And I hate to say this but,seems like the prices at the AH got jacked way up on everything since the game went free to play.

Pembar in Eregion is a good place to look. Those half-orc ruins just outside Echad Eregion have the most Master tier scholar mats I've seen in-game. Barad Morlas.

The Long-Lost Second Age Texts seem to drop the least, next to Ornate Candles. So I usually have nearly double the other 5th tier items before I come up enough of those.

I'm not at a high enough level to use these yet, but I found quite a bit of them hiding in the Barrow Downs in Bree-land. Namely Haudh Iarchith.

Haudh Iarchith contains all the drops you will need for these

If you seek Undeciphered Moon-Letters and Long-Lost Second Age Texts, do NOT follow the advice given above. When I read them I thought that perhaps the Barrow-Downs update included some lvl40 areas that might contain such nodes (I hadn't been there in years), so I traveled there.

I ran through Haudh Iarcith and several other barrows just to be sure, checking every visible node.

Haudh Iarchith and the other barrows in the Barrow Downs contain nothing higher than Tier 3 Scholar nodes. Mostly Tier 2.

It was correct when it was written 18 months ago. Now it old stale information because the game has changed. Whenever you did something that is a year old, you should bring it to the top of the forms with a post asking - Is this still valid? Or start a new thread, asking the question again and referencing the old thread for its applicablity in 2012.
