So this week we are going on a fishing trip! Please make sure you have done the initial start-up quest for picking up this hobby. I will be posting reminders in Bree-land and Bree-town a few hours before hand to remind everyone. I will also come bearing extra fishing rods for those who show up and don't have them, so long as they already have the hobby skill.
Should be fun!
Looking forward to it! Is the meeting place at the PP as usual?
I would love to participate, role-playing i found quite enjoyable in some of my previous TBG's.
Depending on the day and time you start, i'll definitely attempt to be involved.
I live in Australia and have limited times when it's crossing over timezones, but it sounds like fun!
Cheers
As stated in the original post, the Finer Things in Life is every Saturday at 9PM EST. Not sure where you live in Oz, but it should be sometime during Sunday morning for you.

Cheers, will make the events as i find time for them.
It was fun to come along---nice to have met a lot of the attendees!
Got a write-up from my character's perspective linked below. I wasn't on top of things and unfortunately didn't grab a screenshot from the front-of-the-Pony gathering, but at least I got a shot or two of the fishing.
Last night I had only just gotten in from work and I thought, "I'll bring the hunter to FTiL this evening, she can get to Bree fast!" Then I got there...
I found no one at the PP or at the Mess Hall, and realized I was probably in a different layer.
I rode out of the city gate and back in, only to get stuck in an eternal loading screen.
After rebooting the game, I found I was still in the wrong layer.
I changed layers once more by leaving and re-entering Bree, this time I got it right!
So that's why Tanithanor was late for her first FTiL. It was rather embarrassing, but the event itself was well worth the effort. I had a fine time even with Mount Icantsee's icon in the corner of my screen.
One thing to avoid that- Send a tell to someone who's at the event, send them a fellow invite, and then click the layer button. You will get transfered to the same layer.
I did enjoy telling the story, but I hope the details didn't gross anyone out too much. I might be doing a write-up, but I've been away from my computer, and haven't had the time to do a full write-up.
Lyros the elf had a much needed respite from the long journey to Bree, and after the fun banquet with everyone, may stick around the area and look into the interesting things going on both in town and nearby in the Chetwood or Barrow-downs. The decision has nothing to do with not wanting to sneak by hulking trolls in the Trollshaws to make it to Rivendell, no sir!
I'm not sure, but I think I might talk about Caleneths death. I'm not making everyone too depressed now. I mean, the Finer Things in Life is like a group gathering where everyone has fun!
Tonight we heard not one or two, but THREE stories! Wow! That was pretty cool.
As we get more and more players (and newer players) to join us, I encourage everyone to look over this Role-player's Guide Book: A Set of Resources for Role-players that I put together. It has tips on everything from picking character name, to the finer more complicated etiquette of interacting with others.
Hope it helps!

Though Tanithanor ran late, I'm glad she was able to get there in time to hear our three fine tales. And I see that week by week more players are joining our little party.
Nooo I'll be backpacking this weekend. Well, my chars name is Siegfield Reinmar, so if you run into me, well, it's me!
Heh, don't worry about it. I may not be able to attend this weekend either.
To add to the resources for us, Kharrn has written up a very succinct Suggested Guidelines for RP Story Telling that may help people who are looking to tell stories at FTIL.
And of course I'll add it to the lorebook entry

Each week, in front of the Prancing Pony, then we amble off to the Mess Hall for songs, storytelling, and refreshments. So if you don't see us in front of the PP, try the Mess Hall.
Well, could i have some char names in case im on a different instance, please?
If you check the FTIL Lorebook Entry, I've got all my characters listed there (in case I end up being able to attend this weekend), as well as instructions for joining the global role playing channel. I know Bolo, Thoronmir, and Fronagon have that channel enabled and will be able to see if you talk in there.
Also, we usually announce in OOC for a time before the event starts and for a few minutes after it starts to make sure everyone has a chance to show up or get a fellow invite to the correct layer

Hello Everyone! I do not have a write-up... (We need more reviewers!) I will probably be there early, but won't be able to stay long. I might be able to bring along my brother, but no guarantees. I did enjoy hearing Kharrn's story and seeing everyone.
Sorry that I only caught the last minute or two of some of you!
This week I have something a bit different planned...
[Prompt]
You notice a small piece of paper nailed near the door of the Prancing Pony. It reads...
To Whosoever Enjoys the Drinking of Ales, Smoke of Pipe-weed and Spinning of Tales:
Meet me at the Golden Perch in the town of Stock in the Shire. It is a quaint hobbit pub I have recently come to enjoy and would like to meet any like-minded friends. Bring your stories and your pipe-weed, but don't worry yourself over the ale, the Golden Perch has plenty!
Meet me in the courtyard of the Golden Perch at the Usual Time.
Regards,
Cithryth, Diplomat of Rohan

I am sorry to have missed FTiL last night as well...just as I logged on a kinmate asked for my help in the North Downs, so I messaged Fron to let him know.
However, I definitely will make plans to be at the Golden Perch next weekend!
Well, my first event was fun. We also epically failed at killing that drake- when the hgihest level person of your band is two levels lower than a sig, things tend to not go well.
Write-up coming tomorrow. I had a great time! I even figured out how to use my gift as a pretty good prank before I left. I look forward to seeing you all next time.
I enjoyed what time I was able to spend with you all...when I saw a strobe light show outside my window I decided to call it. And I'm glad I did! After I everything down the hailstones started bouncing off the roof!
SO many people today! It was terribly chaotic the first 10-20 minutes and I was receiving many tells, so I'm sorry if I didn't respond to some people in a timely manner. To be honest I wasn't a fan of how chaotic things were, but eventually things calmed down. I took a few screen shots, that I'll add later.
I think next week I'll bring Sagewood.

Yes, that's definitely the most folks I've seen at FTiL. Hopefully next week I won't have an early workday looming the following morning, and will be able to remain through the whole event.
I wish I could have made it this week! Last week was my first time coming and I had a great time. Hope everyone had fun and I'll see you all next week! ^_^
Other Windfola characters: Corarose - Hobbit Burglar | Eodswith - Race of Man Minstrel | Luludaya - Hobbit Warden
I must have arrived either too early or too late...could find no one. But I'd been up since the wee hours and was falling asleep at the comp, so I just logged for the evening.
