I would buy a poster, or heck even desktop wallpaper versions, of some of the truly great artwork that's graced the launch pages and load pages (prior to character selection).
The one in Moria with the warden, etc is one of my favorites ... but, sadly, no where to be found
I would like to buy a 1/8 scale 3D print of my character, in an outfit and pose of my choosing, using high resolution stereo lithography. After that, I want items that reflect my experiences in the game. Let me buy a picture of my character, my kin family, or a scene of my choosing as a print, on a t-shirt, etc. Impersonal mouse pads and mugs advertising LOTRO just do not interest me.
Though it would break lore, how about adding an in game professional photographer? Walk over to the photographer in your outfit of choice, choose a backdrop, pose, and get high resolution pictures for use as desired. I envision a picture at much higher resolution and quality than a screen shot, as these vary in quality based on your computer setup and settings.
I really like the mugs. I've already ordered one of each.
In particular, I like that they are landscapes, rather than character portraits. If the one with the eye of Sauron had had the captain guy standing in front of the landscape, I wouldn't have bought it. And I love the Moria one.
I am very, very glad that Turbine finally sees the light and focusses on what is important to the players !
Who needs expansions, proper armor upgrades and a working LI system when you can have lmousepads and coffe cups !!!
Thank you soooooooo much for focussing on what really matters, Turbine !!!
"The players" have been asking for exactly this sort of thing at least since the first open beta. Nice of you to think that you speak for all of "the players," though.
As for me, I'd spend good money on a thermochromic coffee mug with the One Ring on it, so that when you fill it with coffee, the inscription shows up, and as the mug cools down, it* disappears.
SL
*The inscription disappears, that is. Not the mug; that would just be silly.
dont complain to Turbine about that...its not their bailiwick
that is WB's store...and its the WB's decision...got nothing to do with Turbine.
First: It is Turbine asking for feedback - the lack of international recognition is feedback so they get it.
Second: Turbine is owned by WB - so I am sure that the message can be passed along to the store folk.
Third: Other items (admittedly not all, but most) in the WB store ship overseas and yet all of the LOTRO stuff has been tagged as U.S/Canada only.
We must ask why coffee mugs and mousemats are restricted just because they have pictures of middle earth. Has that radical Hobbit society Al-Coffeeda threatened to declare a Javahad if these products are sent overseas? One for the conspiracy nuts to ponder.
The Jeweled Bell Key Chain and Cloth Faction Banners are all brilliant ideas that I would personally buy!
Another suggestion for "Official LOTRO Merchandise", although it may seem a little unorthodox, is the Elven Welcome Mats from the Festivals. I would give my second born child for one of these irl! (Sorry Inanna, but being traded to WB-Turbine is better than being sold to Gypsies.)
No one has mentioned Cloth Maps yet? The one in the Collector's Edition of MoM was great. I would like to have more like that...toute-suite!
As Comstrike mentioned, the "Official" Art of LOTRO would be nice, again a follow-up of what was already done for the Collector's Edition of MoM. Maybe even Coffee-table sized?
Personally I'm not a sucker for Mugs, and wouldn't be caught dead in a T-Shirt. I use a Trackball instead of a Mouse so no need for a Mousepad cluttering up my desk. I walk instead of drive, so Bumper-Stickers are useless to me. Besides, these kinds of merchandise are so overdone and tired, IMHO. LOTRO Merchandise should be as unique and creative as the game, rather than Same-O, Same-O as the next MMO Merchandise.

An all Elven Kinship, perfecting [Prized Pie] since the Dawn of the Second Age...only on Elendilmir. "It began with a leaf caught in the wind..."

These are really great comments and I go along with all of these ideas, especially the one about LOTRO merchandise being less common, and more desirable to LOTRO players.
LOTRO is a unique game in its own right. People are proud to play the game, and it is not uncommon for people to want a physical souvenir as a real life memento of the game. Authentic looking maps, game related artwork, and possibly even detailed figurines might go over very well.
It is nice to see some signs of prosperity for Turbine, for a change of pace I hope that you do well in the future and that the game sees a boom of expansion and developmental progression!
but:
1. is there a slight chance that the mugs or mousepads get "updated" to the isengard artwork? in my opinion it's the most heroic looking so far, and it would be nice to start the day with a heroic coffee, or make my game desk even more awesome xD
2. is there a slight chance for an expansion of the merchandise? i'm a merchandise-o-hollic, so be sure to have me on the customer list for alsmost every article that has lotro stamped on it xD
3. is there a chance we can get the lotro merchandise in europe? without increased taxing and the lower risk of damging the mug on it's long travel over the ocean?
(the same goes for turbine point cards being only availble at gamestops in germany - why not in austria too? but, to be honest, being able to pay with paysafecard for my TP is good alternative. but e.g. if i wanted to gift points to my girlfriend, it would look nicer if i could gift-wrap a turbine point card, rather than gifting a paysafe card coupon)

"International Shipping $20.00" I want a mouse pad but I won't pay over 30$ O.o
Oh and btw I'm not even able to ..."We are unable to continue checkout because this order contains items that cannot be requested from outside the USA." WB only likes americans :'(
Well, I can't say I'd use any of this unless they caught the moment that my kinship, with all the leaders and deputies as chickens, ran past me by Weathertop. True (trippy) story.
I want LOTRO pajamas. I spend enough time playing in my p.j's, I might as well do it right!!
This really made me laugh, because I just spent the best part of the day doing exactly that So...I agree! Give us some PJs with a Rivendell/Shire map design or something. I would totally buy that. Even just the maps on cloth, like someone else already said
Oh, and regarding the restrictions for international shipping: That just plain sucks, people! We're an international game community, we should all be able to access this stuff!
I would love to see the shirts I have been looking at on those videos of various trade shows! They look cool.
Also the link appears to be broken. Searching the WB store brings up nothing for Lord of the Rings Online or lotro or etc. Looking at the video game section does not reveal anything. Nor does looking at the Lord of the Rings area which seems to be filling up with new Hobbit movie stuff at the moment.
I was also trying to find any LotRO merch on the WB shop today while grabbing up my Black Friday deals on other stuff. Could not find it anywhere either. Did they just say "forget about it" after 2 years?
This is just the first batch of items. We are looking at adding more in the future so if you have something specific you're interested in seeing, please let us known and we'll pass it along to the merchandising team.
Lawn statues, beer kegs and other in-game housing-type items.
To many people, free will is a license to rebel not against what is unjust or hard in life but against what is best for them and true.
How about a t-shirt with Eomer grabbing his groin, over the caption "Open tap this!"
Seriously, though, if by "feedback" they want opinions of all kinds, I wouldn't spend one thin dime on LotRO swag. But of course that's just me. And, as noted, the link does not work.
