I've been playing a little and have a functioning up-to-date version of LOTRO and a new copy of Moria. Should I install the now old Moria disks over my LOTRO, and then have to update it, or is there a way to unlock the Moria content by entering my Product Key somewhere? Trying to avoid breaking something that works just fine.
Using a magnifying glass, I don't see this issue addressed in the microscopic font of the instructions.
I got the Moria box, installed it via auto-play, did a 40ish minute update via the launcher (it may restart the update a couple times, don't freak out). There is a link to register your expansion code, click on it, log in to your turbine account and enter your code (make sure you have the right account if you have multiples, my friend accidentally applied the moria code to his way old DDO account and had to call customer service to get it rectified), and voila, should be good to go. By the way, there's a point where it asks for a credit card, you don;t need to put one in, there's an option for "game card" and "Ill do it later". Just mentioning it because it through me for a loop first time I saw it.
When you log back into the game for the first time you should now have your month of VIP and all the additional benefits that come with it. Just make sure that you log into any characters you have during your month of VIP to register the additional bags and such with them if you plan on reverting to premium. Also, you'll want to grind any characters to 20 and quest the riding skill if you don't want to spend TP down the road unlocking it for them later.
