I was highly disappointed to find out my character could not finish her tasks deed with the current level cap as it is. But after reading through all the forums it is quite obvious the solution to allow higher level characters to finsih the deed is to just add task boards to Moria and beyond. This allows high level characters to continue on without hindering the lower level characters in any way. I have been a VIP player for one year now and have been quite satisfied with LOTRO and Turbine until this exclusion from completing something started simply by leveling. Being a MMO veteran from many other MMos and developers, I give kudos to Turbine for "getting it right" but, this needs to be addressed in my humble opinion.
Having 9 toons, 8 of them above 57 now. I got about 20 tasks done in Forochel with my champ before I couldn't do anymore due to the level limitations. I have no desire atm to start playing my warden just so I can do tasks when there is so much to do on the other 8 still. Are we ever going to get level 50+ tasks? Not that we really need XP while going through Moria, my champ is now 57 and hasn't even TOUCHED the 21st hall, Anazawhatever, Redhorn Lodes or Foundations. Give 50+ iXP for the tasks. After all the GS quests I'll hit 58 or 59, throw in Forges and I'll be nearly level 60 and about ready to leave Moria... Don't need to level faster, need to catch up on my ixp so I can get a weapon to cap...
Like some of the above posters I to ran out of tasks (currently on 70 something completed), and now have no possible way to progres or finish the deed as I was already lvl 40 odd when the tasks were introduced. I'm currently in Moria, going through the quests there, the last task I completed was back in Angmar over 4 levels ago.
It is really just mildly amusing that the drops I get in Moria say that they can be turned in for tasks, until you realise that there really isn't any task boards past the doors of Moria (I'm not even sure if Eregion has one).
If it weren't easy enough to level in this game, now you can turn in your vendor trash for xp. And the people complaining that you can only do 5 a day, can you imagine what it would be like if you could turn in tasks infinitely? No need for quests.

If it's so easy to level, why am I not at 65 after 3 years and 500 hours?
And beyond that, have you actually see how much (or rather, how little) xp you get for doing the tasks? It's like 1/5 the amount for a quest that level. So basically doing a day's worth is like one extra quest (at most). The only real reason to bother with them is for the rep...
My only concern over this system comes from them being level gated. High levels won't be able to go back and do earlier tasks for the deeds/cloaks/reputation?
The completionists will not be pleased with this development...
Other then that seems like a nice addition.
I agree. In fact, I *strenuously* agree
Ain't no mountain high enough...
Mis-adventure is better than no adventure at all!
I'm really disappointed with how few of the task system defects were fixed in the last update! Over a month ago, I reported 6 different defects that should have been quite simple to change, but all they did was a half-fix to Soft Skin at Tinnudir (it still has Soft Skin listed twice on the task board).
You'd think it would have been trivial to rename the task in Bree for Broken Wooden Hatchets to Broken Hatchets (which is what the task actually wants). I won't bother to describe them all here, but it shouldn't have taken more than a day to fix all 6 problems (and I'm a Systems Engineer with over 40 years of experience fixing software problems, so I know what's involved in these things).
While I really do like LOTRO as a whole, it really irritates me at times when so little effort is put into fixing minor defects like this that tarnish an otherwise great experience.
First of all excellent job on the tasks.
I really enjoyed being able to turn in vendor trash for xp and getting the cool cloaks, however:
After spending roughly 1500 Turbine points on raising my daily task limit only to find out that task boards haven't been continued in the new expansions Moria and ROI I am extremely disheartened and feel kind of ripped off.
Post level 50 the tasks boards would come in real handy while leveling in Moria and beyond.
When will you update the expansions with task boards to coincide with the extra money I spent on being able to use them?
There's a few. I managed to get my first 100 tasks done before hitting level 70. Haven't bothered since though. But definitely need more tasks in Moria and areas before RoI (to somewhere around level 55 I think).
I have been methodically running around Middle Earth and picking up tasks as I get to the appropriate level. According to the Lorebook, the following 4 should be available in Tinnudir, but at level 35, I do not see them available. Can anyone confirm that the Tinnudir task board has changed? Also, there are two seperate 'Soft-Skins' and one 'More Soft Skin'.
Name Min.Level
Task: Fine Fur 33
Task: Fine Skin 36
Task: Hardened Carapaces 36
Task: Shimmering Dust 37

I believe the Lorebook entries you're looking at are out of date. I think Tinnudir tasks were changed with the Evendim revamp, and now there's no tasks there above level 34. See lotro-wiki's list at http://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Task...els_25_-_38.29

Thanks! That link was great! It needed a couple of changes (which I made), but it's good now. It's the most accurate link of available tasks I can find at the moment.
