Solitary summit=lonely mountain
The answer is indeed the Lonely Mountain. Single and Solitary both refer to Lonely. Hexagon is a 6-sided object and Royal because it was/is home to the Kings of Durin's line. A Summit, is of course the top of a mountain. The ramp part of the clue actually refers to a geological term for a single mountain formed by a special or unusual process (at least special and unusual for non-geologists) .
Great job Andunion!

Since Master is capitalized, I'm thinking it's a title....so I'm going with the first Master of Brandy Hall, Gormadoc Brandybuck.

I'll take that, though it's not the master I meant!
I was thinking of a servant who abandoned his master, rather than one whose master was defeated. Good answer, though. Give us a riddle.

Because I don't yet have a serious answer, two silly ones:
1. Any dip made with barrow-brie.
2. What the dwarves took after I threw them into the Watcher's pool for being such idiots.

5 incorrect answers, in fact none are even on the right track. The correct answer has nothing to do with water, or swimming, diving or cracker/chip goop.

Well, if no one else cares to guess, I'll venture one.
Bilbo's attempt to pick William's pockets.
Well, I suppose you could always say "flame resistant sunglasses" if you prefer that to "shoes"

Maybe its Alzheimers or dejavus but I think I have used this one before, but anyway think Felarof and Snowmane for a clue.

This is a stab in the dark.
Bilbo's pocket? Pocket in the old sense where it was a little pouch tied to your belt? Object of much deliberation and curiosity for a certain riddler?

Valiant attempt, but it must be too dark. Your stab missed the mark.

That is so much closer to what I had in mind that I will take it. I pass the riddle stick to you!
I was thinking of the knife Merry took from Grishnákh's corpse which he used to free himself.
