I played this game for a few months after it was released (ended my subscription for Xbox live and HBO). I found out much of this game is now free, so I come back and realize my account is listed as "premium". What is premium? I've googled and what not, and I'm getting mixed answers.
simply put, a premium account is one who has paid real dollars on the game at some point in the past - either as a former subscriber (which are now called VIP) or by buying turbine points.
There are comparison charts showing what premium accounts have access to over in the F2P forum.
The access levels are slightly different if premium account is an upgrade from F2P, or a downgrade from VIP.

Premium is the middle tier account class for Lotro. The chart explaining the differences can be found here . Welcome aboard!
but wich features have a premium? and i'm not looking the famous Turbine table of VIP/Premium/Free, i'm looking for a quick answer like "5g cap, sell on AH 5 items at same time... etc", because i'm premium but i think i missed something.

Well, the "famous Turbine table" is actually the best place to see what the differences are. Any other answer is likelyto be wordier and potentially wrong!
The only thing to bear in mind is that it describes the base-level SoA comparison. If you have MoM and SoM your level cap will be higher, you will have the corresponding zones, and you will have the Warden and Rune-keeper.
If you have been a subscriber in the past, your premium status will also include exemption from the gold cap, all trait slots unlocked, and 5 inventory bags for those characters that were logged in while you were a subscriber.
5 char of 7 as well (I'm assuming that's with MoM cuz that's what my son has and his acct went Premium)

I want to point out, as much as the official answer is there aren't two types of premium, there are. If you are F2P and spend some money you become premium, and you get a 5 gold cap instead of 2, but you have to pay to unlock things.
If you subscribe (VIP) and lapse to premium, you retain most of the things you had while subscribing (no gold cap, trait slots, five inventory bags, but NOT quest pack content).
I wish they had different terms so there was less confusion.
Also in the /advice channel a staff member came on weeks ago asking where info was coming from, as if you google, the old beta chart comes up instead of the new one. (F2P may have two characters per server, not just one.)
I see that is still the case.

Here's a link to a place on the turbine website that clearly shows all the differences. Hope this helps anyone that is still unsure about what it means)
First a 2 year old dead thread not the best place to post this Unnrelated question.
Oh I don't know... when you search 'Premium account' this is one of the first threads that comes up, so I don't think it's unrelated.
Secondly, I have been a f2p for almost a year, since I've started, and only recently purchased Moria expansion. Now my account status is 'premium' even though I've never subscribed/purchased point cards. I also received an extra character slot.... so unless the purchase of Moria expansion upgraded my account, someone better check it out, because if I'm not entitled to premium, then it needs to be changed. I don't wish to be accused of 'taking advantage' of this if it's an error.

Did you buy the boxed copy of Moria for real money? If so then premium is correct.
If you bought moria with TP then I have no idea what is going on for you.

If you purchase anything LOTRO related from Turbine, including expansions, points in the store or point cards you become a premium account and get the various upgrades from F2P.
When you applied the Mines of Moria code to your account you became premium.
