    "Select a subscription to play"

    Hi there,
I have what is probably a simple question. I think I have it figured out, and want to confirm:

Long ago I tried LotRO, at launch (just a trial account, never subscribed). Now, having heard that the game has been made free to play, I came back to try it again.

I went to the LotRO site and, using the old username and password I created at launch, signed up for a free subscription. Downloaded client, updated, everything fine.

When I log in to the game, I get a window asking me to choose a subscription. My options: "Lotr subscription" and "LotrO Free to Play." Both are listed as Active. The two subscriptions don't share characters; i.e. I created a character on a server with subscription A, then logged out and switched to subscription B, and couldn't see that character.

I looked at the subscription info on Turbine's account management. The difference between the two seems to be that one was created in March 2007, the other was created this month. I am guessing that I didn't need to sign up for the Free to Play subscription, and that my old trial account would now be as fully playable as a "Free to Play" subscription.

So, is this correct? No difference whatsoever whether I choose subscription A or B?
    Thanks for your insight!

Re: "Select a subscription to play"

    Mostly correct.

As you've already discovered, characters are specific to the subscription you create them on. Turbine points are also subscription specific.

If you'd like one of them gone, you can contact the Account Management department and they can make the one you don't use "disappear."
