So I was talking to some friends while grinding out the new quest lines and the thought about what PvMp would look like in such a huge zone, AND such a cool zone terrain wise.
Although I'm not suggesting Enedwaith specifically be a PvMP zone, I thought it'd be nice to talk over what types of aspects would play well for PvMP. So here's my list of thoughts.
Size: I think the sheer size of space would add a NICE complexity to gameplay, particularly from the viewpoint of a soloer. It'd be easier to avoid the zerg and still find people IF there were proper motivations and incentives for players of both sides to move about the map in smaller groups. (I can talk to this point at length if anyone wants to go down that path...but I'll stay succinct for now)
Terrain; Gloomglens: How awesome would holding those passes, and the high ground be? I can see groups of ranged forming up on the higher tiers while melees hold the ramps to prevent their opponents from getting up. WHole killing zones could be set up and would pose some pretty cool/challenging fights.
Terrain; Mourshaws: just cool. Lots of trees in the way, density of terrain and lots of potential ambushing on the small and large level.
Terrain; Thror's Coomb: OMG!! How amazing would holding the dwarf outpost be??? All the switchbacks and narrow path all the way to the top. GOOD stuff.
Terrain; Middle of the zone: Big expansive open fields....perfect for huge "zergy" fights. Open field at it's best.
Anyhow the whole time I was in the zone I kept thinking just how cool it'd be with less NPCs and creeps.
Obviously not going to happen, but I hope that IF we ever see a new PvMP "zone" some of the zone design we see in Enedwaith would be applied.
Thoughts?

I think an endenwaith-like place would be a great pvp map. The place I've always enjoyed pvping the most is by LC/Isen where theres lots of terrain obstacles to use and alot less npcs then STAB/TA/OC/WTAB have.
If turbine could somehow mix servers for pvp for this map a huge size would be excellent, but if it's a server only basis I'd have to say smaller map because from my POV(im from windfola..so tiny) if there isn't a TA/STAB type area where people will always gather then it will be hard to find the other side, and not in the hmm where are they omg we are flanked kind of way, in the 5 hours later omg freeps/creeps kind of way.
Also I'm not a big lover of the zerg ball(hence why I'm still on tiny windfola) so maybe a medium sized map thats as big as the moors is currently but is more concentrated in areas(other then just one area) or EACH part of the map has value and not just 5 keeps and however many outposts.
Anyways, my "ideal" pvp zone would be an open field/castleesque(sp) place. There are 2 bases, a huge open area preferabbly forested with lots of hills and cliffs etc and then in the middle a keep. This map would have no npcs except at the main bases, the rezes, and specific areas within the castle/dungeon/keep. The way to fight within the keep would be to do quests and fortify certain areas with traps or to have areas where people can hide and ambush etc.
Probably won't happen, but its always nice to dream xP

Hmm? Why? Thought you liked soloing? Either way Im sure its just a typo or simply you mean that people should be more spread out over the map.
Which leads me to my points. Although I definatly dont mind some new map with cool terrain or such, one thing that cant be forgotten is how the dynamics of the map should be. Take the moors now for instance. Due to bad Freep rewards Freeps usually never care about Outposts. These are a great incentive to spread the fights out more in smaller groups. Some better "PvE" quests would also make it more likely to run into each other solo a lot more often.
Just saying, before they scrap the moors and create a new visually stunning map, it would be nice to see Turbine fixing the flaws in the current map dynamic to show us that they actually know how

I do like soloing. And I see the advantages as a soloer of having a bigger map, WITH proper incentives to move around the map that is. Right now there are virtually no solo fights. They mostly end up being many vs 1 real fast due to the size of the map, the relative unuse of much of the map, and the creep tendencies to call out solos and map to them.
I agree 100% we NEED proper incentivization for the Ettenmoors. Currently 95% of the player base seems happily incentivized to just go to EC/STAB and zerg for points.
I'd be SUPER excited if more freeps AND creeps would be incentivized to move around the map more.
