Thread: My Minstrel died when jumping up low obstacles

My apology if i posted in the wrong section.

And so i got my Hobbit Minstrel to level 7, leveled the Cooking and Farming to Expert. I visited Michel Delving crafting area and i jumped up to the Superior Oven. And I died ! The system said that i fell down a cliff or something, but i didn't I thought i jumped right inside the oven (got roasted), but i went back and try jumping in, but nothing happened.

Wanted to get my Minstrel to level 20 without dying, but i guess that's impossible now. The only regret now is i did not capture a screenshot.

Has anyone experience this before. I am now thinking twice before jumping over fence, rocks etc. Is this a bug? Has anyone died before when jumping?

I've died jumping off a cliff, drowning in raging rapids, being stomped on by a troll... but never falling to my death in an oven. I think its a Hobbit specialty.

I've busted many of my character's (horses included, BANG!) legs from jumping up/on 'stuff'.
Some strange physics will snag and you get rubberbanded (and visually you can't even really tell, till you hear the telling... Crrrrunch) and usually break a leg. I do know that death can occur from exploring stuff vertically. (In the Ettenmoors, I had a buddy who jumped off a medium rock, prolly no taller than her waist, and suddenly she collapsed from her injuries. The rest of us climbed on the rock and tried to duplicate it, and never could. So we chalked it up to her bein' a klutz. She probably remembers.)
It's not impossible, improbable, but not impossible.

PS. Fences are usually quite safe and very hobbit tested and approved. It's safer to stay on the fences than to jump off them.

Level 7? If you really wanted the undying title, I would re-roll. Level 7 is easily obtained in an hour or so.

You might want to file a ticket on it though. There might be some hidden spot that causes PCs to fall near the oven. There once was one such spot on the mountain path to the east part of the Misty Mountains. You would be going up the path, nowhere near the edge, and for no reason you fell to your death. It has since been fixed (as far as I know).

Are you quite sure you were at the crafting area and not in a house made of candy? I would be quite wary of that expert cook in the future - she may be an old hag in disguise. D:

happened to my level 12 hobbit too, died when i reached the oven & the message was the same, incapacitated from falling, i'd screenshot & submitted it in a ticket the same day, june 13, 2012 but nada, no reply whatsoever, its a bummer since my game is never to get killed.

there's another spot in the shire where i often get injured jumping over a fence, it's near the horse race area near shire homestead, i often exit shire homestead & run all the way up to michel delving, i cross the bridge & jump over the fence where the injury happens

it's glitches like this that i'm glad i didn't spend more than a 20$ turbine point card on the game
