    Re: [Plugin] Alt Inventory

Version 2.09 is mostly bug fixes, most notably the 0 quantity currency bug reported by Bill Magill.

There are a few Known Recipe fixes and I added the Festival Item category and fireworks recipes.

There is one minor new feature - the plugin will now store multiple snapshots or the character inventory for easy inventory tracking in case of hacked accounts or other questions. It defaults to 10 snapshots before rolling over and overwriting - you can change that from 0 (turns snapshots off) to 9999. The snapshots are saved in the "My Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\PluginData\username\servername\charactername" folder with the name "AltInventorySnapShot_xxxx.plu gindata" where xxxx is the index. Note that after the index rolls over the most recent file may not have the highest index, be sure to sort by date when looking for the latest snapshot.

    Re: [Plugin] Alt Inventory

Version 2.10 has been uploaded and should be available shortly. This version has the long awaited update to handle Vault and Shared Storage. There is not yet a unified search of Bags, Vault and Shared Storage but that will be coming in the next update.

There is one minor glitch that I did not get a chance to track down - it is possible for the display to stay blank after accessing the Vault or Shared Storage for the first time on a character. It only occurred once for me but I'm fairly certain the bug still exists and may happen to others. Currently, you can get around this by simply clicking on any of the display layout buttons (the ones that change the layout between labels and icons). It should be a fairly easy bug to track down once I have a dev box up and running again.

There is a slightly longer load time (about three seconds for me) now that it has more data to process when loading but if you have it loaded automatically you will not notice this. It is currently supporting both the old format for the bag inventory as well as the new format just in case there are any bugs that I missed and that duplication accounts for some of the load delay and will go away in a future version.

I was able to run with the plug-in loaded quite a while on Bullroarer with no indication of problematic behaviour such as client crashes so we can keep our fingers crossed that this update (game client update that is) will be more stable than prior client updates. I did have one client crash shortly after the update was released to the live servers but I am attributing that to the imminent demise of my graphics card and power supply - I have not suffered any similar crashes on my other boxes in the day and a half of testing since but they are running (or crawling) with much lower graphics settings as they are severly outdated or laptops (in once case, both ).

    Re: [Plugin] Alt Inventory

Version 2.11 is strictly bug fixes, most notably, the initialization bug when loading with the Turbine Plugin Manager. This also fixes the related bug originally reported by RJFerret with Load Minimized option not initializing.

The only reliable workaround that didn't impact performance that I was able to implement for the Plugin Manager initialization bug required the use of timed periodic checks of the backpack. Since there is no indication (without user intervention) of when the backpack is fully initialized and it can be accessed by Lua when either not initialized or only partially initialized (so testing for a single item existance was not sufficient) it was necessary to poll the backpack every few seconds for the first few minutes. I finally settled on every 5 seconds as it gave a resonable opportunity for the plugin to initialize without significantly impacting frame rate. I let the Update poll continue for up to 10 minutes but disable it as soon as any user inventory interaction occurs (such as looting, buying, selling, moving items, etc.) since the backpack is always initialized by the time the user can interact with it. While it is still possible for the user to be on a login screen for more than 10 minutes, this should be an extremely rare exception and if that happens, you will simply have to unload and reload the plugin and it will fix itself.

Obviously the correct fix for this is for Turbine to either delay loading plugins until the backpack and barter wallet (the barter wallet has the same problem) objects are actually initialized or to add an event which plugins can respond to when those object become initialized. Until such time as Turbine does fix this, the workaround should be sufficient without negatively impacting performance.

Great plugin. Been waiting on this for awhile.

One question. When going thru the listed crafting recipes in the plugin, the single-use recipes seem to appear in duplicate, at least under Tailor. Is this intended or a bug?

This is because there are actually two (or more) versions of some of the recipes in game and it is possible for a character to know one or the other or in some cases both (I have several characters with multiple versions of some weapon recipes) versions of the recipe. Mostly these are recipes that used the old trophy components prior to Turbine implementing the shard system. Oddly, Turbine changed the recipe requirements but left both recipe versions in game. They could have resolved this by converting them to "limited use" recipes instead of "single use" recipes and letting anyone that knew both versions simply get 2 uses instead of 1 each. This would also have allowed people with multiple copies of single use recipes to memorize all of their copies and just track the number of uses, saving a bunch of storage space. I'm hoping Turbine will eventually implement such a system. Until then, there are two versions of many recipes.

FWIW, it is even worse for Jewellers as there are multiple versions of the LM pet trinkets that are sometimes even on different tiers but yield the same crafted item.

    Ver 3.0

Version 3.0 is now available at lotrointerface.com

This version is the second portion of the split-up of AltInventory ver 2.x. The first part was ItemTracker which implemented the item tracking as a separate plugin. This portion covers the inventory portion of the plugin and merges the Bag view, Vault view and Shared Storage view into a single view panel which can also display all inventories in a single view for easy searching/sorting.

This version also extends case-insensitive searching capabilities to DE and FR clients. You can search using accented characters or use the un-accented characters and the search will still match regarless of case. For instance, "é" will match "e" or "É". The only oddity is the "ß" character which is automatically converted to "ss" by the input control but will still match "ß" in item names.

    Ver 3.02

The biggest change in ver 3.02 is that the plugin can again be used as a bag replacement if desired. When using as a bag replacement make sure that the "Replace Bags" option is selected and that the "Current bags display totals" is NOT selected. This will suppress the built-in bags and will display the actual stacks of items instead of just a single entry with the total quantity for multiple stacks. This is required for the items to actually be "activated" when clicked in the plugin.
