The first batch of invitations to the Palantir Private Preview Program just went out!

So if someone didn't get an invite, do they have to apply again? Or do you hold any applications for future invites?

We do not hold on to applications from cycle to cycle. You will need to apply again.

They're still taking applications, they only just sent out the first batch of invites.

We very rarely 'close' applications. You can apply any time unless the OP of this thread states they are closed.

Sorry if I'm being slow then; but if we have applied and not received an invitation, then does that mean that we have not got a place and our application has been rejected?

If so then the trigger for re-applying would be you saying a round of invitations had gone out?

Suggestion, those accepted to the program may get their log-in flaged, so we can again see/access the tester forums, or mayby the account section has Plantir access indicated.

especially for those that are so busy playing / helping in game, who has time to read normal emails, except weekly...

I would guess, as often as they have time to review applications, in between the millions of other things the QA dept is working on.

Yeah I figured that much, just thought there was no harm in asking.

Ive reported numerous bugs (in the operational game itself) in the past under another user and they took years to fix many of them.....

I test software for a living and can take GETTING PAID to have my bugs ignored/low-prioritized.

I kinda dont feel like doing their QA for free when they have a low priority on game quality and make us play an eternal beta test.

So don't apply? I fail to see the point you're trying to make.

I hope to still make it into this. Having to reapply after testing since August '06 is a bit annoying, but hopefully not a problem.

I have been in a couple betas, and posted bugs I encountered in game, but do not post a lot on forums. What can you do to improve your chances of getting selected?

About every month. Best bet is to watch this thread. Kehleyr tries to announce when the next batch goes out. Her last announcement was Oct. 18th, so you should be good for the next one. It should be real soon. Keep your eyes here...I know I am.

Just so you can give your email refreshing fingers a break, with the Thanksgiving Holiday coming up and our Beta Coordinator moving on to new and exciting lands, processing of applications is going to be waived for this month.

Hopefully early December we can pick up the process again. No need to apply again, though. If you sent your application in on 10/08 or later, it's safe in a special folder to be reviewed.

Does this mean you are looking for a new Beta Coordinator? or has the vacancy been filled

It probably got pushed until the beginning of the year, due to lots of people cramming in all of their vacation hours at the end of the year.

I assume there was not a December invite sent out and it got pushed to Jan 2011?

Do folks need to reapply?

For the people above this post wondering if they need to reapply. See Kehleyr's comment.

I think it's safe to say that early December went out the window and is now more of a January time frame for additional invites.

As most of you have already ascertained, our hopes of sending out invitations in December did not come to fruition. Which is why I was careful to use the word 'hope'.

The program is alive and we are working on getting more invites out. As I have mentioned before, any applications sent after 10/08 are safe - there is no reason to reapply.
