Re: The Palantir Private Preview Program
I guess the program is as much as you put into it, is how much you get out of it. I.e by helping them with solid feedback will improve your own game on 'Live'. These chaps/Ladies do a good job and just want good folk to help improve the game.
Good Luck to anyone wishing to enter the program and make sure you do all your best to help them out!Unofficial Snowbourn Events Team Leader

Re: Invitations Have Been Sent!
There have been no further invitations since this time. Just keep watching this thread

/still hopeful he may be allowed to apply by Update 5 or 6.
Additionally. I would like to thank you and your team (both of professional testers and the folks in this program) for all the hard work they put into testing update 4, I had only a few minor problems doing every quest, and I think only one of those could be something one could remotely expect to notice without a fresh set of eyes after testing build after build). Well done.Last edited by Crell_1; Oct 01 2011 at 04:00 PM.

Re: The Palantir Private Preview Program
Hear hear! I'd say at least a little celebration is due for all the team's hard work on RoI.
Good news. Yay!.. So many things It could be, and I'm sure that anything would be wonderful to hear so we'll all be waiting with anticipation!,
:wild speculation follows:
If it's that a round of invites has gone out, Yay! to the successful applicants.
If its that everyone can apply regardless of subscription status, Yay! for an increased applicant pool
If it's that you guys have pushed through the tests on a implied patch or hotfix coming before update 5, Yay!.. (See various remarks to the effect of 'the latest this should be fixed is u5')
If it means that QA is getting ready to do something else spiffy (whether you have or haven't hinted at it yet) YAY!
:speculation ends:
Thanks for continuing to monitor and respond to this thread.

Re: The Palantir Private Preview Program
Can anyone from Turbine please confirm whether (as the above would seem to indicate) players who are on the former EU servers are excluded from the Palantir Program? I have three Lifetime Accounts and one VIP, but all of them are located on the Laurelin (ex-EU) Server.
Does this mean that *none* of my Accounts would be eligible for Palantir?
Incidentally, and whilst writing: having read the criteria on the first page of this thread, where I did not actually see anything excluding non-US subscribers, I sent in an application which almost literally "crossed in the post" with the last round of Palantir invites, which I learned (after applying!) had been sent out two days before I sent in my application.
If I am not already automatically excluded because I play on an ex-EU server, do I need to reapply, since my application was sent a *long* time ago - 29th July, to be precise?
Many thanks in advance for any official advice on these two questions.

Re: The Palantir Private Preview Program
That comment was made at a time when Turbine only had control over the U.S. service, and no control over the EU Service.
Everyone is now playing on the Turbine service, so even former EU players can apply.
If you have applied since the last batch of invites went out, you don't need to do anything.
If a batch of invites goes out, and you didn't get in, you can reapply in the next window.Leader, Rangers of Eriador - Snowbourn

Re: The Palantir Private Preview Program
From the first page:
Q: If I do not get accepted the first time I apply, should I bother to reapply? If my original explanation wasn't enough to get me in, maybe I could include additional information and be accepted later on?
A: Yes, we definitely encourage this. We have had several participants that applied more than once. If, upon hindsight, you think your application may have been lacking, by all means revise it and try again. What we don’t encourage is submitting the exact same application over and over. This isn’t a lottery – more attempts don’t make acceptance more likely.Ayrolen-Anikosi-Anfribur-Ametrine-Amari-Ayaneth-Asparagus-Anayalos-Alyradal-Aloe-Asiago-Altanoin

Re: The Palantir Private Preview Program
Interesting interpretation - I can see now how that can be read that way. I will reword it.
Given that, the way Ayrolen interprets that FAQ is the way it was intended. Submitting the same app every cycle is what we discourage. We don't just arbitrarily reject applications. There are reasons why we don't accept an application. Therefore, to continue to submit the same application just means the outcome will be the same.
Something like the definition of insanity...

Re: The Palantir Private Preview Program
Expansion betas are not run on Palantir. They're run on Bullroarer by OCR staff (Sapience, Celestrata, etc). And the last beta did not have any application. Testers were chosen by the OCR staff. I'm sure there will be an announcement sometime this Summer when they have more information on it.

Re: The Palantir Private Preview Program
I'm curious if I can participate in this program.
I've had a few forum infractions previously ( I got upset about a few things and made my unhappiness public a number of times) but that was quite a long time ago and I'm over it now ( stopped playing my burglar ) and any points or tickets I had have long since expired?
So, am I permanently out of any beta programs now? Or have I been forgiven?

Re: The Palantir Private Preview Program
its a really long thread to read:/ i want to join this too tbh cause i love bug checking and testing staff
But i dunno the requirements, i mean what i really have to do and how often i have to do what i wil be asked to do.I'm confused in other words hehe.
Well i had some post like rage posts before is there chance to get purified and join this?I was accepted since RoI beta and ive been to all of them and check, test staff but i just realised there is an even better way to express my thoughts to this game through Palantir.
So if someone can say 1-2 things about in a resume it would be really appriciated!

Re: The Palantir Private Preview Program
1. Read every post by Kehleyr at the beginning of the thread. It clearly describes the process for applying.
2. What you 'have to do' once accepted, will be clearly explained at that time.
3. If you cannot communicate well in and comprehend written English, you may not be a good fit for this program. I presume developers will want to be able to readily communicate with you about your feedback, tests, bug reports, and other things currently undergoing testing.

Re: The Palantir Private Preview Program
That is totally unfair. How do you expect to be a tester if you don't have access to all of the content? How do you think NDA would work with no accountability?
If you cared that much $15 a month, the most expensive way to subscribe, is what? A few less coffees, Big Macs, beers, whatever a month.

Re: The Palantir Private Preview Program
Considering that expansions aren't auto-granted to VIPs, it's quite possible for a Premium player to have access to more content than a VIP player. That does exclude Monster Play, but surely an unwillingness to participate in PvP won't immediately disqualify someone for Palantir?
