You don't need to read the whole thread, just the first post.

Basically, The Palantir Private Preview Program is LOTRO's private test server. If you feel you have the time and want to make LOTRO better, follow the instructions in the First Post and apply. As far as I can tell, they haven't done a selection for a while, so I'm not sure how often they add people.

guess im too used to everything being actually explained over a page or two as ppl ask questions to clarify, thanks for responding anyway.

Hope wave 3 goes out soon, been about 3 months sense the last wave of invites by the look of it. Is there a time when you guys hope you'll be able to send out invites? don't worry I won't hold it against you if something happens and it gets pushed back.

I for one am hoping that the LotrO global brings not only EU folk to the Palantir program, but also gives us an opportunity to join while premium!

With the announcement Turbine's acquisition of Codemasters accounts, this question is now moot.

Once the transition is finalized and Codemasters players have created their accounts on this side of the pond, VIP members will be able to apply to this program.

Details and conditions will be listed on the OP after June 1st.

The question probably wasn't raised because after June 1 the account differences will be moot, and the only issues related will be in regard to the legal requirements if any to sign and enforce the NDA. Any news on progress for other account types being able to apply? I'm encouraged by the merger, and can think of at least 2-3 EU players from the F2P beta I'd recommend applying to Palantir if it struck their interest.

NP, I understand. That's why I pointed it out and tried to give a little explanation. When it comes to Blue Name Stickys, Turbine people are pretty good about updating the OP. I have gotten in the habbit of reading the first post or 2, then jumping down to the bottom.

Did you guys send out the comfirmation letters allready? Because the only big reason i re-subsribed was for this..
Or i take it you were busy with the Migration to the US servers?

They will announce when they said a new batch of invites. Though, nice attention to the editing of the Codemasters stuff from the post! Here's to when they edit out the premium/f2p stuff too!

Do I need a permanent VIP Membership (Multi Month) or is an active subscription (30 Days GTC) sufficient?
And what if my sub becomes premium? Can i still log in to the Palantir-server?

As long as the subscription is considered VIP, then you are eligible to apply/participate on Palantir.

Should your subscription drop to Premium you will no longer be eligible to participate in the program and will no longer have access to the server.

Finally, a compelling reason to stay VIP!

Well things are looking up, if I'm lifetime that means that I will have a lifetime chance of participating in the program !!!

Seeing as F2P players are part of the game isn't that counter productive? How do you test for F2P specific bugs e.g. if F2P's can/can't access VIP content; to verify that new quest packs actually work?

Not an issue for me as both my accounts are lifers but why block maybe 40% of the community from helping.

Its an issue with the way the billing system works. They've expressed a desire to open it to all account types, but are unable due to technical implementation at the moment. When they can do so, they will and will discuss it here.

Presumably content gating bugs are checked for at QA, and again in Bullroarer. (Bullroarer will be closed beta this time, but all account types will be there)
When things slip up, they are reported and rapidly fixed.

What is the typical turnaround time when you request to be part of the program to get an answer? Or does no news mean no go?

We do not reply to the email applications. We simply don't have the resources for that.

We will post to this thread when a round of applications has been reviewed and invitations are sent.

Only those that are accepted to the program will get an email from us. So, if you applied, see a post saying we've sent invitations, and you did not get an email then you were not accepted to the program this time around, in which case you are free to reapply.

Yeah I got the jist when I looked back a page. Hopefully I didn't just "dumb" myself out of consideration

How true. One of my colleagues at work is a self-confessed "dumb user", and is probably my mst valuable tester.

Place I used to work hired people to write our software manuals, that had no computer experience at all. We'd hand 'em a package, and say "Play with it. Write a manual." :-)

Could someone elaborate, please, on what "A few hours a week" could mean? One session/week of N hours, X sessions/week of 1 hour, daily sessions for Y hours? I'm guessing there's a reasonable lower bound to the time one needs to invest in order to be able to supply feedback of sufficient quality.

Kehleyr, The dev tracker suggests changes to the post at the top of this page but I'm not seeing any. Can you tell us what if any information you're adding or modifying in this thread?
