Hi there all! Hope this is a good place to stick this...
As the Recent Posts thing is currently borked for My.Lotro I thought I'd start up a thread for it in the meantime to tide us over until it works again. The premise is simple, when you post a new post on your my.lotro blog just mosey over here and make a little announcement on this thread so others can find it!
It's my hope that this will function as a sort of Global Posts Feed in place of the broken one for the time being.
Obviously this will become defunct once the New Posts is fixed but I hope it will keep people blogging in the meantime. See you all on My.Lotro!

The Mad Scribbler Original fiction, poetry, poorly drawn sketches and ramblings by yours truly Updates every Saturday!
Hey everyone, it's Thrungol- I just found this link from Battlemaiden, so hopefully it falls into some good use. Atm I'm too down to write anything- Turbine's backstabbing has really hurt my spirit. I'll try to continue my story soon- until then, gl, and hopefully we get our myLOTRO back soon... afterall, the icon in the corner says "Community BETA"
Ah, excellent idea! I've found that the individual blog feeds, one per blogger, still are working and fortunately I had added many of those to my reader in addition to the global posts one - partly as a backup and partly so I would catch their posts even when I didn't have time to read everyone's across the board - so yay, I saw your post about this post. :-)
As for me, I'm hesitant to post anything new on my blog until my old posts reappear from the void. Sounds like they are still out there somewhere and just lost their connection to my account, but I'm afraid if I post something or mess with the widgets or anything like that, it could prevent getting things back in the right place. So until that's fixed I'm setting up a temporary home at: http://linettslore.wordpress.com/ . I've reposted last week's Ales and Tales writeup there since it wasn't up long on My.LOTRO before the community sites went down for maintenance. Going to try to recollect some of the old posts from the RSS feed and repost them on wordpress, too...so far so good!

I hadn't added that many since I had just started using a feed reader right before the info about Global Posts became known. Plus I'm hoping that this will encourage others (hopefully too ones that I am not familiar with, I'm greedy like that!) to keep blogging so I can find them!
That's so sad about your posts! I was mad enough about all my widgets but if my posts had disappeared as well.../cry I added your wordpress blog though to my reader so I can keep up on what you do 'till they get things straightened up around here.

I'm glad to see this, and glad to see you and Thrungol posting! Thought I'd say I have posted 2 things since the new site launched before seeing this thread (I also posted a prologue to a new story shortly before it did, but after F2P launched...). Go here.

I sent a message to Turbine, but it is filed under website bugs... I made it clear I believe having no "Recent Post"s is considered a bug in my mind, and I intend to make my point on this. I suggest everyone contact them to some degree.
I don't necessarily want Turbine to change everything back the way it was, just to add a Recent Post list, as well as fix any bugs with our blogs. Berethron(myfreezr2) and I are wondering about moving to another website as well, and currently he is posting under "myfreezr" due to the fact Turbine doesn't think he IS myfreezr2... sigh for bugs...

Thrungol, technically there is a Recent Post widget on Home called Blog Feed. The correct way to file a report would be to say that Blog Feed is not working correctly.
I actually like that Turbine implemented that. Giving us a Home page where I can see the latest Blog posts (and expand how many recent posts it shows) AND latest forum posts is wonderful... in theory. One problem: the Blog Feed widget is not working because of some bug so its only displaying the posts that happened before the new site launched, not after.
I see Travisimo, I will try to figure that out soon then. Btw, if it's not inappropriate to ask it here, where have you been ingame? Are you playing on Riddermark or something?
Great thread, Battlemaiden! I've been quite busy with work and haven't been able to post as much as I'd like, and that was before these... changes... *grumbles*. Until I can get some issues I have with my blog page resolved and can actually spend time to figure out the changes it may be some time before I post... I'll check here often as I can to try to at least keep up with everyone elses blogs.
I refuse to have a battle of wits with an un-armed person...
This is a nice idea. I have a feedreader gadget for my Win7 but it is buggy and basic so I can't adjust it as well as I'd like. I've bookmarked this thread. Keep it going, guys!
This may technically not be a new post (although I am busy struggling with a new poem that is refusing to cooperate with my desire for it to write itself), but just before the Great Disaster, I created a widget to link to my new Falathlorn Day Page, and that widget has now boarded a ship and sailed into the West. So for those still planning to brave the terrors of Dynamic Layering and join with me in the fun of Falathlorn Day, this page has all the information you need (and more!): http://my.lotro.com/user-1027520/a-b...-neighborhood/
I put together a short post this morning, viewable HERE.
A lot of people are running loose on the forums trying to rain on the parade. I do not want to be one of those people, which is why I chose to express my misgivings in my blog instead. Here's hoping that I'm wrong about what I'm seeing.
Great idea Battlemaiden! I have been really discouraged from posting on my blog since the update. Maybe now that I have an outlet to inform people of new posts I might actually get back to writing.
Finally found this thread! Thanks, Battlemaiden, for setting it up for us.
Earlier this year someone on my.lotro blogged about a great artsy, crafty tutorial on how to make a Mallorn leaf wrap out of craft foam along with a recipe for Lembas bread. It struck my fancy and I made the leaf wrapper to hold little square notepapers (instead of waybread). I posted pictures of it up on my.lotro along with a link to the original tutorial.
I couldn't get the spaces I wanted between paragraphs so I made my own by taking a screenshot of the blog page and cropping a little line, and saving it as a jpg. It works pretty well so if you want to borrow it - it's on my photobucket. I don't think it's the right size, kind of sticks off the border a bit so feel free to manipulate it if you have the time/energy/inclination. EDIT: Hmm, never-mind - looks like spacing/padding is back on the blogs?
Also, if anyone knows who posted that mention of the tutorial please point me in the right direction because I'd like to give credit! Battlemaiden said she thought it may have been A Casual Stroll To Mordor?

So apparently the Featured Players thing is working on Mylotro... the bad news is that it is not the Featured Bloggers that we had before, just the featured players Turbine wrote about and interviewed.
I'll get back to posting soon, so hopefully it will be viewed. Nice to see everyone hasn't given up hope like I had done last week.
Featured Players were always seperate from Featured Bloggers (don't ask me why the players were displayed so prominantly on M.L while Scribes were not...). Only a few players who were featured were also bloggers and even then they never asked them about their blogs. I have a feeling that M.L is kinda getting the cold shoulder at least for awhile. They haven't had any new Featured Bloggers or Scribes of the Ages in forever But that's all right, we support each other and that's what counts! As shown I think in part at least by this thread, everyone banding together to support other's blogs and efforts even when things look a tad bleak. We're an awesome little blogging community and we can survive this!
But I don't want to derail this thread...
Thanks again for using this thread everyone, I'm loving the ability to continue to read your blogs! Let's keep it up, it doesn't matter that some things are wonky at the moment, at least we can still blog

Reason: Rephrasing some...I need to stop posting in the middle of the night, especially when I'm sick! ;)

Okay, I finally made a new post, my first since the apocalypse. I discovered you can't save as a character or in any of the categories that define my blog... Alas! But, I did solve the space between things issue. Just make a paragraph that contains a non-breaking space: Use the paragraph tag (p) and code for the space (ampersand-nbsp-semi-colon) to do it.
LOL. Barely looked at this today! Anyway, this is a really good idea while the kinks get worked out! I just posted, but am unfamiliar with links, so I'll put this in. http://my.lotro.com/user-974187/2010...white-stag-c1/ (Hooray it worked!) This is my first post of my new storyline and really wouldn't want it going to waste! Thanks again Battlemaiden! I think we'll survive with the new MyLotro! (If they fix it soon )
I'm hoping that once we figure out an easier way to be in contact with each other, we'll get even better turnouts at future events. Until then, thanks Battlemaiden for giving us a means of sticking together! The great response today has given me some inspiration, so I may be back to writing soon.
I just finally got back to internety things after several weeks of packing, moving cross-country, unpacking, starting renovations on the new house, etc.... wow, what a surprise. The MyLotro I knew vanished!
I am really happy to see my fellow bloggers continuing on with their writing, and I'll add my old favorites to my bookmarks as you share them. Please continue the awesome work! I have always loved the supportive nature of this blogger community and really enjoy the personalities of some of my fellow longtimers.
For myself, I currently am stretched far too thin to start and maintain a fresh blogsite.
See you in Middle-earth, lovelies!

Sounds like quite an adventure!
I've subscribed via RSS feed to many M.L bloggers here and unfortunately some of the ones I visit frequently have sort of either given up blogging altogether and/or are just waiting till normality has been restored here. I've hope in the CMs though, they're trying their best and things should be fixed soon.
I've also found quite a few bloggers plugging away at their own .com/WP sites in the meantime, and I've been somewhat tempted to do the same on mine. Though I'm not sure it would be the same happy feeling for me if I moved my short stories elsewhere. :/

Thanks to Bracket, et all who made that happen! And thank you to all of you who used this little thread and found it useful. I'm glad it worked for some of you! I look forward to seeing all your posts once more

Well, I will flood this post with announcements of my Falathlorn Day posts for a couple of days. I apologize! The first of these posts is a poem I recited for the event in Quenya. My first! Be gentle!
Thanks Gaiagil! An amazing poem! One of these days I need to work on my Quenya. I did receive your message, but the site will only let me read messages--reply button does nothing anymore (sigh).
Apparently this thread is still the only way I can contact people or find out about new posts, so I know it's extra work, but I'd love for people to continue posting their links here at least for a little while!
Well, for those of you who missed it yesterday, Pumyra's RP Prompts made its triumphant return after a month off due to work and my vacation. Be sure to stop by!
For those interested in creating new blogs, I'm pretty much everywhere on the internet. I use a cross-posting service called Posterous (http://www.posterous.com) that cross-posts between Wordpress, Tumblr, Blogspot, Twitter, Facebook... and over 22 other different services! I can't recommend it enough for the die-hard blogger.
So, I can be found almost anywhere. RP Prompts can also be found in any of these journals, though they're usually listed there with a "character development" banner.
Aiya,
My write up on Falathlorn Day is finally up. Sorry for the delay. It has been a busy and stressful week, and making lovely pictures does take time!
