Don't shoot the messenger and that's meeee! and I'm in no way that n00b tehStormking cuz I r a girl!!1! The jury's still out on what TSK is...we're about 75% sure he's a boy...maybe...(we hope). o.O
But I digress! TSK would like you to know that he still can't properly 'hate this game' if he doesn't have his forum name to post with (ie - forum names innit fixed yet and he's still showing the wrong name!). I'm jus' passin' the word along since he can't, cuz of forum name weirdness.
Any ETA on when the forum borkage will be remedied, folks?

I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that apparently QA ixnay'd the fix for the multiple subscriptions issue, so it did not go into today's deployment. The good news is that they are trying to get it into a hotfix for this week; it's at the very top of the priority list for remaining website issues.
We're really sorry for the inconvenience in the meantime. I know it's no fun being your evil twins!
The issue with some VIPs only having "Free" access ties back to their actual game accounts and I know CS is fixing them (folks with this problem should file tickets with Account Support and/or post in the Account Support forum). In the meantime the community team has been stealth-fixing people as we come across them, with the caveat that if the game account is not also fixed, it might revert until that's straightened out!

Problem is Patience, while I can't speak for others, as a VIP with only 1 account in LOTRO (unless you count f2p DDO) I can't file a report of any kind. The only place I can access to post are the free forums and that doesn't include filing bug/ticket reports or the account support forum. Any suggestions for us (I'm assuming it's more than just me).

Patience, I don't know how else to post these bugs (really, access to the fourms isn't critical, but I consider filing bug reports an important part of the game to make it better).
Since I don't have access to the other section, but I'll put it here and maybe they can be moved by you to the bug section.
Thusfar bugs I have encountered:
Ost Galadh - A vital message (NPC finishing the quest is no longer at the Haunted Inn). Chain for the Forest Patrol iirc, this means the whole Forest Patrol daily is broken.
Ost Galadh - The Grim Tower chain is broken (can't gain access to the tower to finish Relics of Old or Corrupted Memories).
Haunted Inn - A peculiar tomb - NPC to finish the quest is no longer at the Haunted Inn. The whole ''History of Aughaim' chain is broken just outside of the Haunted Inn.

Has QA given any possible reasons for why a forum account would, suddenly, jump from the forum handle of a VIP subscription to a Premium? I was fine and dandy for a few days after F2P went live, using my forum account tied to my VIP subscription, then it jumped to my Premium account and has only my premium characters, etc.
I didn't have any other issues (such as only being able to post in Free forums or getting "Free" status).

Yep, having the same issue and I can't post anywhere but here and F2P forums. Account Support Forums don't like me either . I have one VIP account and my forum login name b4 F2p was different from my game login name so I guess that's what FUBAR'ed my forum access.

Well I tried to post in the Account support forum and guess what I got for my trouble. So my VIP account is one of the ones that need stealth fixed or whatever.
I got this cute little message
Hi *********, thank you for your interest in The Lord of the Rings Online™ !
You must have an active LOTRO subscription to post on our forums or use other members-only features. You may also receive this message if you do not have access to the forum or feature you are attempting to use. Don't have a LOTRO account? Sign up at http://www.lotro.com and start playing for free!
--- Pulls hair out ----- If there was such an emote.
I am a founder and a lifer. I have two lifetime subscriptions on the one account.
I was broken (couldn't post, no characters etc) but now my community login appears to have been associated with my main subscription. I can post again and I can see all of the characters created on that main lifetime subscription.
Unfortunately I cannot see any of the characters created on the other lifetime subscription. This appears to be my only remaining account related problem now.
There is one other My.LOTRO issue that I have found but haven't seen mentioned in this thread. The PvMP leaderboards do no allow you to sort by class for monster players. The class drop down list still has Freep classes even after selecting servants of the eye in the type drop down box.
Statistics are not being updated properly. This includes the skirmish log and activity log for each character. I checked the statistics for both the characters I have been using since the last update and they state that the characters haven't done anything since Labor Day.
I also have this problem, not sure if it's common to everyone. My character log ends on Sept 7. Nothing I've done since Book 2 launched is in my character log. Similarly, in my "My Characters" list is a level 3 Man Lore-master. I deleted him on Saturday, Sept 11. I rolled a new Elf Lore-Master, who is now level 8. He is not appearing in my list of characters.
As far as I can tell, all data is stale. New gear I've earned on my main isn't showing up, either.
Assuming this stale data gets fixed, I do have a request:
On the front page of the Player Portal, I added the Character Log widget. The only option it has is to select which character I want to show. But I want to show *all* characters. That's not a choice. I'd also like to be able to control how many log entries it shows, as the current length is a little excessive.

Hey Patience, hate to bug you as the account access problems are certainly bigger than issues with Avatars, but since it appears you're monitoring this thread I have to jump in. I've noticed there's been some edits to the Known Issues list and yet problems with uploading Avatars is still not there despite multiple posts by multiple users. Just saying that if it can't be fixed this instant it's certainly understandable, but it should at least be listed as a known issue so that we know you guys are looking into it and so that we can reference it when someone else asks why their Avatar uploads aren't working.
I think I'm in the same situation he is, and at least I can now post in various forums (including Account Support). Thank you! However, I'm still posting as my evil twin, MyLOTRO still thinks I have no characters on this account, and I'd really like to post as me (Khafar) . Since I've already submitted tickets on this, there's nothing to do but wait until the hotfix arrives... and play the game.
Lol, go figure - I submitted the ticket for not having access to the forums. Just after I submitted it, I then went back to the main forums suddenly I have full access. Ah well, somebody in accounting will be wondering why I posted the ticket I guess.
Last issue will be to get my characters in my.lotro to be listed.
Thank you to the Turbine gods (Patience?) for fixing my access to the full forums - hopefully it's not just my squeaky little wheel but everybody that got/gets fixed-up.
Same boat here. This account (bx9) is my original beta account. There are no characters associated to this account. And no posting history. I'd rather have my previous forum account linked to my game account, not this one. My old forum account was Rossi.
Is there a global fix for this particular issue, or is it case by case?
At least I can post some place other than FTP free support. Geez, that was frustrating.
"We are raised to honor all the wrong explorers and discoverers - thieves planting flags, murderers carrying crosses.
Let us at last praise the colonizers of dreams." - Peter S. Beagle on J.R.R. Tolkien -
Well we can at least post in all the forums again which is a start. They are working on a fix to give us our identities back and hopefully that will happen soon.

Looks like I have permission to post again, although its still with my alternate forum name. Works for me for the meantime until the real fix comes in. Thanks for the help!
I am one of those who's user name corresponds with my old Beta name. I've filed tickets with the web site support but have not received anything confirming they have received them. Now it seems maybe I should send another ticket to the account support place?
My Characters and My Kinships doesn't reflect the new servers. Hard to build community when the new communities are left out of the social networking infrastructure...!

I've read through the entire post and can't remember if I saw another post regarding the issue I am having. Basically, when I click on the My Blog link to go to my My.Lotro page, everything looks fine... well, except for the friends and activity panels being empty...
However, when I just mouse over the My Lotro, News, Forums, whatever else buttons, it greys out all the panels and I have to reload the page to get the information back. This only appears to happen on my My Blog page.

I can post now from what I can see, however I am still my evil twin with my forum stats and counts set to current. But Hey Oh well I think I can live with that for now, I would still like to be my former self but life goes on at least I can get to the important conversations now.
Thanks.
Now to finish class prep and get ready for my second block students.
Ironically, it seems if you use the color-change box while you're not logged in, the changes are remembered. Its only when you log in that it ignores it.
And I'm still waiting for my characters and friends... guess I just need more Patience
I cant make account on lotro.com...im trying to make one for 3 days, with Mozilla Firefox v2,and always get some dumb error that says:
Your submission contained an error. Please try again.Code:#FTxTZ5R5INC.
Countless fkin times!!
Beside that a lot of forum pages and posts cant be opened, also some freakin error, some of them are fixed by reloading the page, but most are not,so..i cant make account and cant find posts about it,cool...I could use some help!!!
I have not seen this issue mentioned here before. I cannot get the forums to load on Firefox 3.6.9. All of the other items listed in the top menue (My.LOTRO, News &Articles, Lorebook, etc.) load just fine with the execption of My Kinships, which I see another user has just reported. None of the individual forum posts shown on My. LOTRO or any other item on the other main pages that links with the fourms will load either. I get a message at the bottom left of my brower that says "waiting for forums.lotro.com....". This message just stays there, the page I am trying to load from does not change, and eventually after 5 minutes or so, the process times out.
PLEASE NOTE: I do not have this problem with IE 8, but I prefer to use Firefox. I hoped it was just one of those temporary things that would go away, but it has been days now and no improvement. I do not have this problem with Firefox on any other website I use. I was using Firefox for reading the LOTRO forums without any problems before the overhaul to the site. Can someone please help.
Maybe I'm just missing the update, but even though I can post anywhere, it is still under my beta name and not my real forum name. It's not that I'm upset or trying to push anyone - just wondering if there was any ETA or update.

I know it's not much help but I'm using 3.6.9 on a few different computers with no issues at all
One thing though - you wouldn't happen to have an overzealous ad blocking extension or security suite? I've had issues before where web safety plugins or ad blocking firefox extensions have made whole sections of sites disappear.

Same here. I got an e-mail from Turbine customer support which said this:
We currently have an issue where if you have more than one subscription on your account you can only access one of the subscriptions. We can not swap the names as it may cause issues with your posting history. However, we do have a fix in testing that will allow you to chose which subscription you wish to log into the community site with. We will be pushing this update as soon as possible. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing you and thank you for your continued patience.
I suppose it's at least possible that the "rename" they did during alpha/beta was really a move from one subscription to another, and if so... then I'll be able to choose to post as "me" instead of as my alpha account.
No word on just when that was going to arrive. Hopefully Soon™.
At least you got a response from Customer support about the login name issue. Mine is still listing my beta name also, and I wouldn't mind if it stayed that way, except that it is not associated with my account, so all my characters are missing and as far as Turbine is concerned I don't have a subscription with this beta name. I have sent support tickets and posted on the forums and I have received absolutely no response from anybody. Very irritating that this is a problem that they didn't anticipate when they moved to the new system. Why is it so important to record how many posts you've made. Isn't it rather more important that there is an actual account matching the name? I don't understand Turbine's position and really I'd like a simple response.

Khafar
My problem will be somewhat easy to fix because I never used this sub to post - only my other sub. If they switch it to the other one I'll be happy. But what if someone had 2 subs on one account and used them to post equally? They would be out of luck, no?
This is where I have a problem with this whole mess up, not that I can't post under my name until the fix is applied, but rather that nobody thought about this or tested it. No, wait. I can't believe that. There is no possible way that multiple subs were not thought of and tested. But they said their QA tests were fine and showed no issues. If that is the case - what DID happen?
I work in IT and routinely have to implement things that affect many users (though not nearly as many as Turbine, I admit). There are almost ALWAYS things that you can't plan for and so in that sense I side with Turbine. However, there are some things that should just be basic and if not accounted for - would result in me being reprimanded for not catching an obvious issue.

I have no doubt they are working on it - I would just like to see another update of sorts. I can now post to the forums, but my display name is wrong - they obviously changed SOMETHING.
Just as I finished writing this I kind of remember reading something yesterday about fixing it this weekend. That would make me happy
