Re: Known Issues for the LOTRO Community Site
I cannot post to the regular parts of the forums either.
I have two lifetime subscriptions on one account. I log in with my in-game login and password and it RECOGNIZES my old forum name.
I also have a DDO account (free one) with the same game login and password.
Needless to say, I am soooo not amused.
Also cannot customize my signature with fonts, colors, etc even though I have the WYSIWYG editor enabled and it works fine for this post.

Re: Known Issues for the LOTRO Community Site
Another bug: The "jump to page" dropdown appears over the clickable page numbers on the top of some pages, so instead of clicking "3", I had to type 3 into the box and hit go.

Re: Known Issues for the LOTRO Community Site
Please hurry! I need to tell people they are wrong and not being able to post only my normal forum name is getting in the way!!

I kid....mostly.
I hope this is a quick fix, but I'll be patient. It's just frustrating because I want to participate in some of the conversations going on and I can't. Otherwise the forums are working a lot better for me, and I'm getting used to them now.

Re: Known Issues for the LOTRO Community Site
i'd just like to mention that Itoo have seen some problems, the dev tracker isn't showing pictures for me for the navigation links, they seem to be using "/firstpost.gif" style links. which doesn't seem to mesh with media living on the content.turbine.com server. I've tested this in IE, Chrome and Opera.

Got something new today:
I've seen it a couple times now.Code:vBulletin datastore error caused by one or more of the following:
- You may have uploaded vBulletin files without also running the vBulletin upgrade script. If you have not run the upgrade script, do so now.
- The datastore cache may have been corrupted. Run Rebuild Bitfields from tools.php, which you can upload from the do_not_upload folder of the vBulletin package.

Re: Known Issues for the LOTRO Community Site
Yeah, whatever this is, it's happening to me too. If I remember correctly, when I tried to sign up for a forum account to link to my gaming login, "Niniane" was already taken, so I signed up with "Nyneve" instead. You can imagine my surprise when I got the "Hello, Niniane!" welcome screen upon signing in with my game login.
I'm guessing that somehow I actually created both accounts by double-clicking of a button or something, but I only ever used "Nyneve." Better yet, it now tells me that I don't have a subscription to the game, even when trying to /bug in-game. My MyLotro information and journals are also all empty. My forum access seems very limited.
EDIT: It's saying I have three posts now, which is strange... I really don't ever remember posting under this name. Still trying to figure out what's going on...
EDIT2: New theory -- I'm a lifetime founder. Is it possible that "Niniane" was my forum account name during some sort of beta, and I later registered as "Nyneve"? I think that might be it!Dernière modification par Niniane ; 10/09/2010 à 15h01. Motif: Adding additional information

Those two words together comprise a phrase you should probably condition yourself to avoid while interacting with customers. It's obvious you meant no harm, but a certain segment of society may be sensitive to the use of that phrase outisde discussions of its usual context in history.

Re: Known Issues for the LOTRO Community Site
I only pointed this out because a hapless former colleague of mine once pitched a multimillion dollar project to a client. In his sales presentation, my colleague used this particular phrase repeatedly and with emphasis. The client walked out of the room after about 10 minutes and never came back. It turns out he was a Holocaust survivor.
I can't really put myself in a survivor's shoes and understand the emotion involved in a seemingly inoffensive (and in many cases, perfectly appropriate) pair of words. However, I've conditioned myself not to use this phrase out of respect, anyway.Founder of the Better Biscuit Bureau, 4 Brookbank Street, Bannockbury, Brandywine.

Re: Known Issues for the LOTRO Community Site
Yep, that's it!!! I was in beta in 2007, I'm a founder and lifetimer as well. I distinctly remember we had to create a new name/account when the game launched in Apr 2007. I picked RC_Hammer; in beta I was C31ebrimbor. We were offered an option to revert back to our beta name/account and I took that option way back then. I've been C31ebrimbor on the forums ever since - all my characters are connected to C31ebrimbor.
With this forum update, that little switcheroo got lost. I don't have access to my characters, the system thinks I do not have an active subscription, I have only F2P access to the boards, no post count, etc. No problems ingame, thankfully, but haven't tried to file any bug reports yet - could be a problem if the system think I don't have an active subscription, we'll see.
Patience - This is truly good news. I'm hoping I can become whole once again. Bless you!

Re: Known Issues for the LOTRO Community Site
Hi Patience....
The featured blogger list is gone. Can we get it back?
My hubby has a lifetime account like I do. He cannot log into the community site at all. His account lists him as VIP. He can log into the game, but he gets an "Authentication Failure" notice if he tries to log into this site.
What should he do? He can't even bug it....

Re: Known Issues for the LOTRO Community Site
1. I clicked "Log Out" and was returned to the portal page where it still showed "Logged in as
".
2. All character-related boxes on the portal don't recognize me. I assume this is part of the multi-account/multi-sub issue:

p.s. I only have one LOTRO subscription on this account. I'm using Firefox 3.

Re: Known Issues for the LOTRO Community Site
Interesting side note (whether or not it will be useful is unknown):
I get many of the bugs mentioned as known issues. However, I found (by using /bug in-game, which I've had to make extensive use of since this patch rolled out) that the website bugs do not exist in the game.
When you type /bug in-game, you no longer get the the bug-reporting form; instead you get the home page of this forum. From there it is possible to get to the bug-reporting form (although this is a hassle).
The coding for the web pages when viewed in-game does not "appear" to have the issues noted in this thread. Menus, etc. display properly (although the font is damned small on a high resolution display, further shrunk by the in-game window).
A new bug I HAVE found, however, with the bug-reporting form on this website is that it doesn't like numbers in the character level field. I repeatedly get an error message that the digits "65" are not numeric... It will accept a blank field, however, as a work-around.ALTS: Schartestuffe - 65HNT/SMK Woodworker/SM Farmer || Maggae - 65MNS/SMK Jeweler/SM Cook || BilaeBaub - 65BRG/SMK Tailor || Ealkimme - 65LM/SMK Scholar/SM Weaponsmith || Koracion - 65RK/SMK Tailor || Ealmariah - 65WRD/SMK Weaponsmith || Ealdaebwen - 47CPT|| Kraeli - 39CHM || Kittenne - 26MNS

Forget it. Not worth the hassle. Back in a week, hopefully you'll hire someone that knows what they are doing to fix these screw ups by then.

Re: Known Issues for the LOTRO Community Site
YaY! Thank you for restoring the custom title - it has a lot of sentimental value to me
. And the logging back out/in does help in seeing the correct image the second time around - but my point was that it doesn't work like it seems it should.
Somehow, magically, today my avatar looks right on the forums. Hope it stays that way... Thanks for all the work trying to track down everything and rolling out fixes so fast!Lyriell, Elf Guardian of Carpe Jugulum

Re: Known Issues for the LOTRO Community Site
I'm glad it's fixed for you Technogeek and, as I saw in another forum here today, for another person. I hope I can get the fix myself soon - I posted a ticket reporting it three days ago and so far, no response

I can't post to any forum except the FTP ones, even though I've got a VIP (lifetime sub) account for LOTRO. I also was in LOTRO Beta and in DDO and one (or more) of those things is causing the problem I guess.
In any event, thank you, Patience, for noting this problem and for explaining the kind of fix you all are working on. It means a lot to get that kind of information!

Re: Known Issues for the LOTRO Community Site
Quick question...
Are free players intentionally not allowed to post on server forums and other forums or is this a glitch? If so, does one require an active subscription to be able to post on other forums? Is there a certain account level required? The forums seem a large part of the community and depriving free players of them is rather cruel...Not all those who wonder are lost.

Re: Known Issues for the LOTRO Community Site
It is not fixed for me either. It is like I have been handed the ultimate forum ban. There seams to be a lot of us vip (lifetime sub) folks who have this problem, the wife also being in the same boat. There is another thread about this that has not recieved one reply from any blue name. There seams to be a lot of us that have this issue.

Re: Known Issues for the LOTRO Community Site
When I log into the site, in the area where the tab for "My LOTRO" is, a big white box always pops up with the word "false" inside it. It takes up the entire left top corner of the page.

Re: Known Issues for the LOTRO Community Site
I get this on my desktop but not on my laptop.
Wondering if his has something to do with the Nvidia drivers. My desktop has the latest version of the drivers while my laptop is older and has a card not compatible with them so they are an older version.
On the laptop I dont get this issue but I do on the desktop.

Re: Known Issues for the LOTRO Community Site
Indeed. There are several different threads on this, and they keep cropping up. I've been checking them for blue posts, but so far complete silence on Turbine's part. I've also submitted a ticket, and... nothing. It's enough to make me consider quitting the game... of course, Turbine's already got my money since I'm a lifer, so it's not as if I matter.
Glad to see that people are getting their custom titles fixed though.

Re: Known Issues for the LOTRO Community Site
I haven't posted on the forums forever so I was a little confused and tried to login with my forum ID. Ok so I got the message that I have to login with my game login ID, but that the old forum name would still be my identity. However, it looks like my new forum identity is my main character's name....
I looked under My Preferences and it seems to be the place to specify whether you want your game character to be your forum ID, but it doesn't list any of my character names! So now I'm totally confused.
Don't see this under your list of known issues though so I thought I'd bring it up.
EDIT: btw, I hope there's still a way for me to use my old forum ID because I am sorta attached to it.

Re: Known Issues for the LOTRO Community Site
Here's a forums issue to add. For threads I had subscribed to w/email updates before the switch, I still get the email updates. However, when I get something like this:
...When I click on the link for the specific new post (the one that ends with #post4960525 in the example here), it doesn't take me to the new post, but rather to the first post in the thread. For long threads that is making it difficult to find the right place to read the new stuff. You are subscribed to the thread "A Hobbit's Tale - Back There Again..." by Elessar2007, there have been 2 post(s) to this thread, the last poster was Elessar2007.

Re: Known Issues for the LOTRO Community Site
In the very first post in this thread, the Known Issues, it's stated that those with multiple subscriptions on one account may not be able to post on the "correct" account and we're working on a fix. I also posted it here. I know it's frustrating, but please sit tight while we get the fix together - it will likely be Monday or Tuesday, as QA will need to test it before we implement it!

Re: Known Issues for the LOTRO Community Site
I understand the known issues, however, my problem doesn't seem to fall within it. I am a lifetime member who has only ever had one subscription tied to this particular account. I do have a second account, with another subscription, however I have always kept them separate (different user names, etc). The problem then is that I cannot post anywhere but in the F2P forums, keeping in mind that my account has always been paid for either by subscription or eventually via a lifetime purchase. Any ideas?

Re: Known Issues for the LOTRO Community Site
These two tabs don't do anything when I click them, even though they show the "hand" icon indicating that they are active. The mouse-over menus don't stay active very long, and it's a challenge to get them clicked before they disappear. Besides which, I don't want to click a character, I want a page that shows all my characters, on all servers. Important stuff for the lotteries!

I can get to these pages in a round-about way by clicking on a character from that mouse-over menu (quickly!
), then clicking my user name from that page, which takes me to the page with all my user info, including characters on it, which is where I expected the tab "My Characters" to take me. Until these tabs get fixed, my work-around was to bookmark that page.
Glad to hear it's all being worked on!
