Thread: Stuck at "Examine Game Data"

I started updating the game when the patch servers first came up. I got through updating the programs and part way through updating game data. Then I got an update error and the launcher closed. I started the launcher again but now it seems to be stuck on the "Examine Game Data" part. It's been on the "waiting" stage for well over 20 minutes now. It did not take this long when things were working before the update error. Anyone know how to resolve this problem.

Restart the client again if you are stuck in "examine game data" for too long. Repeat as many times is required. After I restarted the examine phase was really fast.


extra note:
- 1st batch download (0/24ish) files is to update the launcher only
- 2nd batch (update game data) is the big one with 6854 files about 1G size.

I just closed and re-tried the launcher a few times and it was able to move forward.

Totally cheap programming perhaps.

Close launcher completely (no ring icon in taskbar or by windows system clock).

Right Click LoTRO Icon --> Run as Administrator.

I am having same problem. Previously run LOTRO for four years or so on XP and had no problems at all. Just installed windows 7 and reinstalling LOTRO online via Shadows of Angmar CD and am not able to get past Examine Game Data.

Restarted launcher several times, restarted computer several times
Reinstalled the game itself...SEVERAL times - including the whole re-downloading of the programs several times.

and nothing.

I am at my wits end with this and cant understand why its not installing. It is a fresh windows 7, this is pretty much the first program I have installed on the computer.

If anyone can help me with this to get it past this stage you will be my hero.
