You have no appreciation for accomplishments in the game.

When people hit goals that I know they have worked hard to achiece, I will make one. Creeps and Freeps alike need a little "kudos" from time to time.

Comments like these are what happens when people that have no idea what they are talking about are let on the forums. I solo'd all the way to this rank. So unless you are simply referring to me being a spider as easy mode, you can retract the comment.

The entire point of this thread is not, who is solo who isn't. This is landroval, people get involved with one another and become really great friends or enemies. They will show the pride through threads, who cares really. Its not really making your life much more difficult or less by seeing the titles, are they?

This one time, I was moving towards the quatermaster in Grams to resupply when Funspoiler sent me a tell and said to wait because he was going there first.... Solo.

But seriously, I can't recall a time where I've seen him grouped up... I see Luc grouped up way more than him.

On a side note, nice fight yesterday Luc, I couldn't get my heal/fear/tenderize timings right or maybe I could have scooted of with the W. Always enjoy running into you solo.

Because I don't think it's right for Angel or Luc to stab at people. Their posts were nothing short of rude and inflammatory. If you can't see that then I have some real estate you can buy.

Firstly, I went to go re-read that PM that you were waiting for a response from. It didn't need a response, I said what I had to say, and you did the same.

You can't justify yourself by saying other people are doing it. You can't use that kind of strike to then say I, was stabbing at you. Come on. Don't twist my intention. I don't dislike Angel, nor would I consider him a true friend. That isn't to say I don't enjoy grouping with him!

Now, can't you just admit that it was childish to say, 'oh well you don't solo as much as HE does!'

But whatever, you're the one suggesting players hitting R10, 11, 12 and getting the Battlemaster title aren't worthy of some recognition. And you want to talk about having no idea about what you're talking about.

Try imagining 6Xs the infamy you got "solo" and we'll discuss the merits of congratulatory threads then.

You have zero clue what it's like to fight out there for YEARS all for nothing. I personally think those threads are the LEAST people deserve.

And I stand by my assertion. One who can't appreciate those achievements clearly hasn't had to work for them.

My point is anyone who can't recognize the importance of hitting R10, 11, or a MILLION renown is clearly not slogging through the points like the people I see being congratulated. And CERTAINLY not like I have.

And yeah, I get upset at the assertion that those achievements (for which we get NOTHING in game) are not worthy of a stupid thread.

And for the record, Funspoiler has consistantly (IN MY EXPERIENCE--again I can only speak for myself) lived up to his name. This isn't a player that consistantly squares off with me solo, particularly if he's supposedly solo all the time.

Ranked defilers are the most "difficult" fight in the moors. Reavers are the most dangerous oppontent. But I either win quick, or die quick. Bugs can be VERY dangerous as well, but again, it's a much faster death for one of us or the other. Wargs are all about the Cjs...either they stun me enough to kill me with claws or they don't.

Defilers, I pretty much kill myself, 39 points at a time, or manage to out damage the heals over time. And it's a painful process.

One of these days I need to log the combat vs one of you guys, becuase I'm willing to bet I deal 20-40k damage in some of those fights.

I didn't say that I 1v1'd all the way to my rank. I said I was solo, meaning I was not in a group or tribe. I just don't understand exactly how what I did was 'easy mode' as you claim. I never thought that things could get any more silly then they have been on Landroval. To even for a moment suggest that it is a waste of time to stop and congratulate a person for their in game work is petty.

You do not have to like the person on the other side to understand the time and work they put into ranking, or completing deeds in the moors. I really do not care if they do this in Raids, small groups or solo.

Civility in this game is suffering greatly under the drive to one up everyone else. Name calling, exploiting, and cheap play seem to be more preferred by some over hard work. And many of us have forgotten how to just have fun while playing a game.

Sign a petition to stop congrats threads? No freaking way. It is one of the few ways left that we come together to tell one another well done. Or nice fight. If we continue to poo poo the work and accomplishments of one another, then for me, and many others, Moors play will soon become a thing of the past.

If you made your rank killing greenies in the slug pits he would start a thread for you himself...probably a few days early just to let everyone know that "something special" was about to happen.

I tried in the past to create a mass thread where everyone could post grats to people, but it just never took off. People are too interested in being the one to start the thread or they feel this particular accomplishment is too important to not highlight with it's own thread.

Personally I like the threads because I'm one of those people that like to make others feel good about themselves, but my OCD side really wishes we had a sub-forum for them where we can spam through and make sure we don't miss anyone but not take over the discussion boards for them.

No, that's what happens when every accomplishment from rank 1 and on to KB deeds to renown milestones not even associated with ranks to multiple stars warrants a new thread. It's what happens when people want personal recognition and by an extention either the recognition of their friends or (this next one is my favorite) the personal recognition of simply acknowledging someone else.

The whole "well deserved" and "I was there!" and "I helped you!" and "Awww, I wasn't there!" things are what's really make me want them to go away. It's changed from being a simple "I'm happy for you! Congrats!" to people trying to assess value on someone's worth and more than anything, turned into a way for people to praise themselves when they weren't even the ones to rank.

As for me and my ranks? I'd rather there never be a thread created to congratulate me on anything. I hate recognition and praise and think it takes away my efforts to be a team player by singling me out. Your theory is weak to say the least.

I don't have an opinion on the coversation regarding Luc's reply in this thread.

I sincerely hope you aren't suggesting I made the threads I did today to draw attention to myself. Whether it made me feel good about myself is irrelevant, since doing nice things for people is one thing we often do for ourselves

I personally thought that both Nandir and Leekae's achievements deserved attention. One is a rank 11 captain, not an easy class to play these days, and the other is for like 92 million KBs. I haven't ever spit on other threads or knocked those that were made, regardless of how I felt about it.


I can see if you were generalizing but I personally I just wanted to respond. I like the "single-thread" idea to say grats, or the sticky or sub-forum.

This thread started off really bad and got a lot worse.

I really don't see anything wrong with telling someone good job when they reach a milestone.

Definitely not. This thread was the first thread I've read since the last time I was on the forums several days ago so I have no idea what else is even there. And since the forums have been down off and on since I have posted the first post, I've still yet to read anything else.

Seriously, i read the forum post and thought of it as silly and laughed a bit. I come back a few hours later to see fussing over something that is simple as this


Rank 1 - For a new greenie (someone who has never played a creep or freep in the moors is a BIG deal to that person...) However, It's really not a big deal to other people.

The forums are here for a way to communicate and talk to each other across enemy lines. It only takes ONE negative post to turn something innocent (like this thread) into more than it really is.

Servers are down, go eat pie...or bacon...or bacon pie, that's awesome...

Stop taking things so serious and personal.

Everyone has the right to dislike or like a forum...but stop complaining so much that it starts a flame throwing cage match on the danged forums.


That being said, I have known funspoiler for awhile, I know he didn't join WH till after his rank, and I know for a long time he run solo. Does it matter? No not really. People play how they want to play and do what makes the game fun for them. Just because someone has a cranky day doesn't give them the right to take it out on other people who are just trying to have fun.

Nothing I said was slanderous. It is my opinion that someone who believes that R12 is not an accomplishment in this game deserving of some recognition has a VERY low value placed on how long and the amount of effort that requires. PARTICULARLY freepside where there is NO carrot at the end of the stick.

The current batch of players with grats threads aren't out there for their epeen. They're out there for what WAS a love of the game. And the fact that they're still out there is admirable.

I'm about 2 seconds from never playing again. It disgusts me what passes for competative gameplay out there these days. And I for one congratulate anyone who can put up with it and slog through it enough to reach those ranks.

If you want sufficient data, there is none. It's my opinion of your gameplay and more importantly my opinion of the attitude of someone who believes grats threads shouldn't exist.

Honestly 99.999% of my problem right now, is not with ANYTHING to do with your gameplay. It's the complete and utter garbage idea that we can't even have a congrats thread for people we feel did a good job.

That to me is the ultimate testiment to your mindset and to the mindset of a LOT of players both creep and freep currently. And frankly I don't like it. I think it's destructive to the game. I think it's destructive to mutual respect. And I think it's just not cool.

You're feeling slandered because I put down your accomplishments.

You put down the accomplishments of EACH AND EVERY person with a grats thread on the boards right now.

Try to see it from that perspective.

You are so wrapped up in some non-existant personal drama that you can't even see straight. I've been disagreeing with you on topic after topic after topic for years. It's only recently that those topics have broadened to include more than game mechanics because it's only been recently that you've had such venem and back-handed comments in your posts.

So I guess if you're indirectly telling me that you're going to maintain your blatent disregard for tact in your essays, then yeah... you're probably right that I'll never agree with a single thing you post. Here's the thing. You don't know Funspoiler. His post was so short and so vague that you jumping to the conclusion you did (that his post was meant as nothing but disrespect to you and yours) makes you the fool in this instance.

You were personally offended? It's understandable when things are vague and you don't know the individual posting, but to take it to the level you did with your response was actually offensive when his post just seemed offensive to you.

To me? It said what I've been wanting to say for an eternity now. It has nothing to do with not wanting to acknowledge people for their accomplishments and has everything to do with the fact that 13 of the 25 threads on the front page are some form of yay you/us! thread. That's MORE THAN HALF of our discussion board content saying the EXACT SAME THING over and over and over again!

I love chocolate, but make me eat it for 2 out of my 3 meals a day for a week straight and I'll tell you to shove it where the sun don't shine. It doesn't make chocolate any less tasty, but too much of a good thing can most definitely become a very, very bad thing.
