Ahh, thanks for the correction. I downloaded the high res version. personally, unless I was running a really low end machine, I wouldn't consider anything but the high-res client, which is why I hadn't thought about the smaller size. Sorry.

Its also worth noting you can download the high res client and then select not to install the high-res textures. Lets me have one installer to hold on to for my friends and other pcs.

This is a good point. I personally keep a recent copy of the install files on a USB key for such occasions. It makes re-installs, adding the client to a notebook, replacing a dead HDD, or passing it along to a friend, much easier.

Any chance the fresh live installer will be up on places like Fileplanet at headstart so we can grab them before the launch on the 10th? It wasn't too painful updating their current build during this weeks downtime, but I'd still like a fresh installer when F2P launches. This will make showing off F2P to all my friends while I'm on the road much easier, plug stick in, install. Pull out laptop, and we're both playing in the starter areas.

I doubt this is the right place for me to ask this, but, will they wipe after the f2p beta?

Nothing on beta gets carried over to live. The beta server will pretty much cease to exist, along with everything on it. it's a completely separate system from the live servers and can't comingle with them in any way.

Go look at the stickies on the beta forum if you have access to it. They explain in detail. But in short, what happens in beta stays in beta.
