Hello fellow champions! For a long time now I have watched the Official Warden solo list http://community.codemasters.com/for...solo-list.html and I believe it is time for the Champions to Shine. Yes the wardens are the best Solo class in the game by far but a champion when geared correctly can change from a Squishy Champ to a Tough Monster Slayer. With the slow progress of new content I would like to submit a list with different ranks of difficulty to give fellow champions a little more endgame content. These challenges can be fun and also help your playing skills when facing the very difficult Mobs. I am going to stick with single strong enemies only, I find instance and hard skirmishes are a little too long of a challenge. Even though the Carn Dum bosses take awhile to get to. This is a level 65 list
1. No external help or buffs
2. Bring money for repair bills and try not to Die.
DEFINITIONS
BEGINNER- Requires basic playing ability If Solo Geared and Above Average playing Ability if Geared With Regular champion top radiance and jewellery. Virtues, traits, and gear can be lacking. Does not really require too many self buffs.
INTERMEDIATE- Requires more of the champion skills to defeat such as clobber, sudden defense, and adamant, ect. Requires Virtues, traits, and some reasonable Solo gear to defeat. Requires some self buffing. Also Skill level of the player is increased ( may require kiting, appropriate timing of skills).
VERY DIFFICULT- Requires Great Gear, Virtues at 10th level, and all the Traits requires for Solo Fights. Need all self Buffs you have available. You can only make a few mistakes or you would be near deaths door basically.
EXTREMELY DIFFICULT- No mistakes can be made here or death is the result. Because these are so difficult a movie clip is required to prove that it can be done, I don't want to waste fellow champs time if it is impossible.
I have also made a movie series to help people with these challenges that I have just completed. The series is called How to build a solid solo champ on youtube, Part 4 is the most important(gear). All of these challenges on this page have video proof of being defeated solo by the champion.

A friend challenge me to the hobbit skirmish solo t3. It was more difficult than I expected. I was wondering if any champs have completed this and if they traited a shield to do it? Also how long did it take and how many deaths? My ally is a maxed out herbalist btw.
Probably not worth much, but Barrows Skirm. Mostly depends on luck, but it's still neat to try. If you can run in a circle and get lucky with mob types/Lts I'd expect it's possible to last the full hour.
This was one of my first attempts, I wasn't traited properly. When I try now I trait out to Invincible with a Heavy Shield. My best was somewhere around 11 minutes. This is the only screenie I can find atm, I'll take more on my next attempt.
I did Coldbear solo... Bring lots of wound and health pots and a lot of patience...
Step 1: Kill the snow-bear babies.
Step 2: Kite like mad, throwing in the occasional Raging Blade for damage.
Step 3: Pop CB and DPS Coldbear until you drop under 3K-ish.
Step 4: Repeat steps 2 & 3 until the first set of adds comes out.
Step 5: Repeat step 4 for when the second set of adds appears.
Step 6: Repeat steps 2 & 3 until a health you feel safe DPS'ing Coldbear down the rest of the way toe-to-toe.
Step 7: ????? (Read: loot)
Step 8: Profit! (Hopefully...)
EDIT: This was my strat while traited 4 Zerker/3 AOE, I do not know if he could be (mostly) straight up tanked traited for Martial Champion/Invincible...

Some notes:
I never bothered to see how much I could solo in CD, I will have to try that one day.
If I put my mind to it, I might be able to get the arena boss (Gruglok?) down solo. Excluding him I have killed everything else in Uru solo at 65.
A LARGE number of these mobs were killed the famous champ "BA/HS/Kite/Repeat" method.
I probably couldn't solo all this stuff, the way i am set. Using shield would take too long for it to be fun for me, but even with my setup(DPS) most elites are cake, for 95% you don't need any buffs...Really nice job soloing all that stuff, your guide was really nice too.

A bit of a late post, but I've done T3 Tuckborough with an herbalist and no shield. I primarily focused on Controlled Fury taking me through the instance and just plowing everything over as fast as possible with cooldowns like Great Cleave, 10s horn, Fight On, Adamant, Sudden Defense, etc.
I did it in just under 17m back when the tournament was on.
Thanks Rhino-Man for the positive comment. I remade this video with the 300 soundtrack and is now blocked to alot of countries I will be remaking soon with different sound and a change from the help of fey that is an increase to survivability in certain Fights. Hopefully I can get to it tonight. thanks for letting me know.
Nice Job The Frank! I have wanted to add Lagmas to the list for a bit but don't have on video which I am a little strict about. Hopefully this week ill add him though. I always like the proof of defeat and the video to help others. As far as Rothlug and a few other Dps race style fights I will be posting a few videos on strat in the future.

If I am reading that right, that means that you have done your list already? If yes, VERY impressive! I would like to see strats for the "Extreme" ones as those stupid trolls get VERY deadly VERY fast and because you can not stun them there is no way to remove their buff. The other 'problem' with them is that there are usually a few mobs near by limiting your ability to HS+Kite.

If you go to one of Athelious's you tube video links, there are 69 videos by him, many of which are video's of these solo feats! I haven't perused them all, but he does show those nasty trolls that you are talking about (Crushing Force trolls). Interestingly, it seems he does not have to do much kiting at all (if any).
Very interesting to watch his "How to Make a Solo Champ" series (6 parts so far).... especially part 2 as the first 30 seconds demonstrates that you actually CAN build your champ so as NOT to watch his morale drop precipitously. He lets himself be attacked by 5 crows/flies outside of Ost Galadh and stands there and his morale stays at 100% indefinitely. Very interesting!
EDIT: Actually his part 3 vidoe demonstrates this survivability even better.

The changes coming should help with some of your setup as well. We now get a fear (self) removal. Rend will stack (you appear to use rend quite alot in your solo videos)!!! And you could increase every stat by +50 (including Fate which you focus a lot on!!!).
Exciting new changes for the solo champ? I'd say so...
Have you tried some of the delving mobs yet Athelious? I went in there the other day and knocked out munlug the eggkeeper, was an interesting fight because of the worms re spawning, also tried some of the wights and got destroyed.....not enough disease pots heh.
it is kinda funny you should mention that delving. I actually almost had the worm down on video twice and got jumped both times. I have been very unlucky it seems with that place so I kind of gave up for awhile. I am not sure what other mobs would be soloable in the Delving other than the worm. I have tested a couple other guys in there and they deal shadow or Fire damage so you do not get the negate common gear.

Hopefully soon ill get another chance.
Have a good one

One trick you can pull with the shadow damage mobs is to slip your rift set on, pop the gloves then switch back to shadow defense gear and try to dps them down before they kill you with disease and other nasty effects.
Added another video to help people with multiple enemies. This is geared towards new players and is most likely common knowledge to alot of seasoned champs.
Fought Lagmas out of Urugarth last night for the first serious time(Fought him before with all cooldowns gone). Had all my heals this time and barely made it. I did leave one idol remaining so I do not know how much easier that would have made it. As far as I'm concerned I was going to put it under extreme Difficulty I totally underestimated that fight. I was at deaths door about three times. Anyone know about the idols? Ill try and post the video tonight .
cool dude and grts, i havnt made a serious solo attempt at lagmas in awhile so i'm due to try again. So what are the idos for this fight? and definitely totally retraiting to try this again, and big ups/grts again
Man, wow, this makes me realize how much I suck. Most of the stuff on the "Beginner" list I'd rate somewhere between "Impossible" and "Chuck Norris." ;_;
Athelious - You have created quite a stir on Landroval at least....
I asked in GLFF last night, "Does anyone know where the shard droppers are in Imlad Balchorth?" and an astout champ replied, "Testing your solo build, Radian?" LOL
Then I ran GS twice last night (got second diamond stud and jubut-rud!), and another champ in the group uncharacteristically said, "Sweet, I've been wanting that shield" when Wall of Resolute Guardian dropped! Too funny! How often do you hear champs saying that?
Anyways, thanks again for giving me/us something to do besides grind SG for the 1,000 time.
Solo'd a bunch of stuff over the weekend, some easy ones, but also Bogbereth, Rothlug, and first boss from SH (then ran out of time IRL). Was loads of fun!
Am going to try Urugarth tonight - was able to get to Lagmas when I was 60 (didn't try Grugluk though), so am looking forward to tonight's challenge.
Thanks,
Radian
P.S. LOL - you should bold your warning about repair bills! I've been loading up my bags with lots and lots of armour, different sets and different abilities. Died twice, and came back to a 1.5G repair bil! Zoiks! I quickly put lots of it back in the vault...
Athelious, man, your videos are gems. I watched all the tutorials. I've been playing for 3+ years but now I realize I haven't been doing anything other than playing around. I'm in a group DPS build (almost identical to yours) but seeing how you can survive with the true solo build, the enormous difference it makes... I'm sold. I'm going to forget everything I know about Championing (Alt-1, Alt-2, Alt-1, Alt-3) and being creating this survivalist build tonight. >:3 I want to take down some of these bosses solo... or at least do a T3 skirmish in less than an hour and a half.
Also%u2014I notice you're using the spear. I don't see that often. Does the DOT outweigh the racial 2%u0025 from a sword, plus that innate to-hit chance?
hey guys thanks for the awesome comments. My modem went down with a storm last night so ill give the upload for the lagmas video a try again, looks like its the only solo vid on youtube if I get it on there. As for the spear its for pure cosmetic I kinda like the spartan look, I wish I could get a second age lv 65 spear.
Finally youtube stopped rejecting my video. I really under estimated this fight because everything else in Urugarth did not seem to difficult. Here is the Lagmas video I promised.
Yes I thought of the nerf bat for sure. Champions are actually middle of the road for solo ability. I know for sure that the warden, Guard, Burglar, beat the champ for solo ability, possibly a couple more. This strength does not come from the champion himself but the gear setup, stats, and skill. I have seen a burglar solo Rothlug and barely crack a sweat, A guard defeat all of Sh without kiting. Wardens have Soloed Grand Stair. Every other class also has the ability to do great things solo.
I just posted this because everyone was bored with no content and gave them something to do. This is the new endgame for a fair amount of people at this point. I think it also brings a double role to every class actually providing an out of typical class experience. I know in the past Turbine has tried to stop the ability to solo things. I think they are shooting themselves in the foot. Do you know how many hours of nonstop action trying to solo something has provided me? I would be embarassed to say. Now you have two sets of goody gear to try and achieve as well which also provides alot more gameplay hours.
If I could design a skirmish you would be thrown into an enemy controlled colosseum with easy to moderate to crazy difficult bosses only increasing in level as you slayed them. Dropping better loot as you go until all are slain and the orcs chanting around you flee in fear before they are slain as well(ill keep dreaming).
Anyway I was very hesitant to post this list but was convinced by other players its not the class its how ya gear and play it. Which is true. I pray that no nerfs are coming are way since we have had our fair share.
Incredibly well done thread and videos Athelious. I had no idea most of this was attempt-able prior to reading through this last week. My new armour set is almost complete, and I'll be slowly working down your list. Very admirable. You're truly a spartan among champions.

When it comes down to soloing EMs and stuff, I think Champs might have nearly the shortest end of the stick here. Most other classes have better heals and debuffs and all kinds of neat tricks but we, as far as I've ever experienced, just do some damage, take more and die. :P
If they're gonna nerf champs because one can solo Bogbereth, they'd better remove Wardens entirely then. 9_9 Solo easy mode.
Anyway, last night I bought a bunch of cheap Gloaming and Greenwood armor and jewellery, and retraited for Invincible, and saw the difference immediately. It turned T3 Tuckborough (only had time to try the first pull though) from "omg I need to burn every cooldown AUGH this is impossible I'll just drop one add, die and come back **** can't even do that" to "oh, well, this is just going to take a couple minutes... hum, I might have to 'burn' Bracing Attack." It was like night and day. :3 Now, once I got the money for the critted versions, or get me some Diamond Studs...
