Brood Queens and Daunting Spirit Sappers and other LTs you never see
Just for some background of how much skirmishing I have done:
I have completed 25 of the LT advanced slayer deeds.
Ever since I completed the 14 solo LT advanced slayer deeds, I have NOT solo'd.
If I have solo'd, I've done a duo in order to get different LTs.
YET, I have 2/5 Brood Queen kills and 1/50 Daunting Spirit Sapper kills. I have seen both of these rare LTs in the Barrow Downs skirmish and Stand of Amon Sul skirmish. Either I haven't or don't remember seeing them in any other skirmish.
I did a lvl 39 Stand at Amon Sul skirmish today at the fellowship level. In this one skirmish I met BOTH of these LTs (obviously not getting credit for the kills).
I have two questions.
1) I don't believe that the Brood-Queen is a duo+ LT. I don't think I've ever seen it in less than a fellowship skirmish. When has anyone seen it?
2) Related to the question above, per http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Skirmish_Lieutenants, LTs are separated into skirmish sizes. The Brood Queen is listed as duo and above but I don't believe it. My question is the following: Might LTs also be separated by level? I did a lvl 39 skirmish and met 2 of the rarest LTs in a span of 10 minutes!
Re: Brood Queens and Daunting Spirit Sappers and other LTs you never see
I've seen the Brood Queen in Dannenglor 6 man. I've never seen her in a duo or 3 man either, but I haven't run group skirms in dannenglor that much, but I've run barrow downs and amon sul 3 mans a decent number of times and have never seen a Brood Queen in there.
I've also seen daunting spirit sappers in Ford of Bruinen. I have a total of 6 of these on my champ, which seems to be in line with the other group lieutenant deeds.

Re: Brood Queens and Daunting Spirit Sappers and other LTs you never see
I have seen the Brood Queen in the Siege of G. skirmish in Duo/Small/Fellow/Raid.
I think Siege of G can be mind-numbing solo, but in groups the sheer variety of the Lts can make some fun skirmishes. I have seen every Lt in that skirmish.
Re: Brood Queens and Daunting Spirit Sappers and other LTs you never see
I've seen the Brood Queen in Duo skirmishes before. In fact in Amun Sul, I had 3 brood Queens in a row for LTs. That was on my RK.
I have rarely seen a Brood Queen on my champ, burg, or minstrel. I have noticed that certain toons tend to see more of one type than my other toons. On my champ, I think, I believe I have the advanced deed done for some of the LTs, but do not even have the basic deed done for other LTs.
Re: Brood Queens and Daunting Spirit Sappers and other LTs you never see
I had never seen a Brood Queen until today when I was doing a solo lvl 50 skirmish - Thievery and Mischief. I was on my minstrel and died 4 times trying to figure out how to kill the BQ. I finally decided it wasn't possible (9k morale and hatchlings kept interupting heals) and quit the instance. After reading this thread, can someone tell me how a BQ ended up in a solo skirm?
Re: Brood Queens and Daunting Spirit Sappers and other LTs you never see
It must not have been a solo skirm
So, The LT deeds finally make sense to me.
Did a raid Assault on the Ringwraiths just now. First capture point had a counter with 3 LTs. Second capture point had a counter with 4 LTs. Then the usual spread out LTs were always in groups of 2.
I think we had a total of four Daunting Spirit Sappers too!
I have done a lot of raid skirmishes but usually a few in the raid are unable to do the book skirmishes.
Well! If you can find 12 folks with them, I think you'll find a lot more lieutenants!
Anyone done a raid Rift, Breaching Necromancer's, or Battle in the Tower?
It may also have to do with it being an offense skirmish.
Still no Brood-Queens though, but I think I solved the missing Daunting Spirit-Sappers
Re: Brood Queens and Daunting Spirit Sappers and other LTs you never see
I know this is an older thread, but I do find that the Brood Queen is a recluse at times. I've been running a LOT of duos lately on my 65 champ and have most of the duo/small skirmish LT deeds done or very nearly done (reg & advanced). For the BQ, I've only got 6 kills.
The odd thing is that I've been running group skirmishes on my Warden (currently in the low 60s) and I am at least halfway done with the Advanced Deed. I know it could very well be the RNG, but once my Warden started doing L60+ skirmish, I have seen absolutely zero BQs compared to a steady amount of them previously. Ah well...RNG
Re: Brood Queens and Daunting Spirit Sappers and other LTs you never see
Suffering same problem, half way through my raid Lietenants, with most over 25/50 done, but Brood Queens I've only seen when duoing with my kids lower level alt, with skirms set to below lvl 65.
Please make the Brood Queens a bit more common. I've seem at Amon Sul, and Ford of Bruinen
Re: Brood Queens and Daunting Spirit Sappers and other LTs you never see
I was under the impression Brood Queens only spawn in level 60 and below skirmishes.
Does anyone know if this has been changed with Isengard or is that deed now impossible to complete for people who are max level? (I'm certain Brood Queens definitely don't spawn in level 75 skirmishes).
Re: Brood Queens and Daunting Spirit Sappers and other LTs you never see
The Brood Queen still only spawns at 60 and below. I was really surprised when I saw one on a level-60 Assault on the Ringwraiths' Lair run. That's when I remembered that it was high time to send a bug report on the matter. As you noted, it is now impossible for someone at level cap to complete the deed.

Re: Brood Queens and Daunting Spirit Sappers and other LTs you never see
I didn't even know a lieutenant called "Brood Queen" existed. What is the point of it being sub-60 exclusive? Or if it is a bug, how has something like this remained unfixed for 2 years?

It is almost certainly a bug and probably tied to the "tiers" of the skirmishes (i.e Recruit, Footman/1st, Recruit/2nd, Guardsman/3rd, SaA/4th). Up until RoI, they just did not spawn in the Guardsman/3rd level band of skirmishes. SaA/4th was probably just an extension of the prior tier so the bug probably just propagated to the new tier. Unfortunately, it took some time for us to figure out what was happening as a player base, but there hasn't been a confirmation and it's very hard to prove something random such as this. I've bugged it at least once when it became clear what was happening.
Maybe it was grouped in with other bug reports such as "LT x is not spawning in Trouble in Tuck". It would be nice to see it fixed.
Re: Brood Queens and Daunting Spirit Sappers and other LTs you never see
Is there a meta-deed for doing all the LT deeds? I'm not seeing it in my logs.
Anyhow, my lowest count is 4, for Enraged Snappers. Others I see only in raids are as high as 12 or perhaps 14. (I think -- it could also be the case that all the ones that high already appear in duos.) A lot are bunched at 5-7.

Hi guys, I read this topic and I have some questions:

Why won't they just fix it and make the Brood Queen spawn in skirmishes past level 60 or whatever it is they stop.
1) Has anybody reported about this bug?
2) I'm compeeting now skirmish deeds and have a problem with one lieutenant. I've done 31/41 deeds and other 9 are about 35/50 progression, but the only problem is with Flesh Gorger - I have 6/50, is it so rare?

Yes, on several occasions.

Yes. It only appears in very few skirmishes. Siege of Gondamon, Ford of Bruinen and Battle in the Tower are the only places I saw him in.

Flesh Gorgers are also in Rescue in Nurz Gashu, and they are a 2+ person LT. For some reason, this skirm has a much more limited LT list, but the Flesh Gorgers ARE one of them. In fact, you'd have the best chance of grinding Flesh Gorgers by simply running this skirm over and over, on DUO setting, at level 67 (or level 75, it's not that hard). You can maximize your number of LTs by skipping the FMs on the giant fumeroles - I think you get 16 LT encounters this way. I think there are about 18 LTs that show up on DUO setting, so your chances are 1/18, which is MUCh better than any other skirmish (there are 27 kinds of solo and duo LTs combined, so some skirms you'd have 1/27 chance of seeing them on DUO setting). This suggestion, of course, is for Flesh Gorger grinding only, as the lack of other types of LTs in the Rift skirm is not good for grinding many of the other LT deeds.

Still have not seen any Brood Queens in level 67+ skirmishes. Has anyone else?
I really hope that they change them so that they show up in any level skirm.
Or if a Dev would comment that this is WAI or not, that would be helpful. However, I don't see why they would make just 1 LT not available at level cap.
Also, I'm hoping that they will fix this before implementing a meta-deed for completing all LT slayer deeds; seeing as they added a meta-deed for all Skirmish Encounter deeds, I'm hoping they will add a slayer meta-deed as well!
Re: Brood Queens and Daunting Spirit Sappers and other LTs you never see
Do you really thing that, at 65, Brood Queens NOT showing in lvl 61+ was WAI?
I seriously doubt they did that on purpose or have any intention of fixing it if they didn't even fix it at 65.
/shrug.
And I've been waiting almost 2 years for a skirmish LT slayer meta-deed! =p
I remember back when I was investigating Brood Queens, I talked to this lvl 63 or so hunter that joined one of my skirmish raid runs (before they were cool). She told me she levelled on skirmishes and had killed 30 Brood Queens. Of course, I did not believe her. I think I chat logged our conversation and laughed at her to myself. "Sure, this new hunter has killed more Brood Queens than ME!"
I wish I could go back and apologize and tell her she was right.

There is an Encounter during the first wave of Counter-attacks in the new skirmish, Storm on Methedras, that does the same thing as the Brood Queen.
Honestly, the first time I got this encounter, amid the mess of AoE, and I saw his poison, I FREAKED OUT. I yelled, 'BROOD QUEEN YAY!!!!!!!'
The poison, if not cleared and upon expiration, spawns a little spider. The exact same poison as the Brood Queen gives out. The fact this encounter does it was so cruel!!!!
We had a Brood Queen pop in 85 Ford the other night, it was a nice surprise. We had a couple of Kinnies who had never seen one.

With ROR expac on 15th October, all LTS can now spawn in 1/3/6/12 man skirms. Previous some LTs only spawned in certain size skirmishes, but now you can get any LT on any grouping size.
This may make problems for people leveling chars if a bad LT spawns e,g Leadfoot and ur a mini/hunter or even worse Brothers of destrotion if ur a squishey class
Glad Brood-queens are back! That deed has actually progressed faster than my Flesh-gorger deed. Those guys are rare, but I do see them more often in Rift than anywhere else.

Can someone else confirm this? I've done quite a bit of solo skirmishing since RoR was released and I haven't see any lieutenant changes on any of the skirms.
That being said, I am daunted with encountering blood rooks solo with 4 additional mobs during the counterattack near the third banner in Icy Crevasse. It's happened to me twice already in the last week or so. +130% melee damage is bad for my health. The only way I was able to do it was to run around constantly, using Battle Shout on the lesser mobs as it came up, charging into the wave with Pressing Attack, and praying that I get a critical so that I can run to the vent and use Rallying Cry. Fortunately, it worked. It's ironic, though, that the most difficult lieutenants to me are usually the ones that I can encounter on solo+. I'd take a Priest of Vengeance or Priestess of Flame any day if they were on solo.

Sounds like junk info to me.
As for your rook problem, I think I remember a bit of dividing and conquering with my herald/bannerguard or my archer/archer (depending on what I felt like running that day). If you had a rook and 3 mobs, you could tell your soldier to attack one, your herald to attack another, while you pull the rook and the 3rd mob and burn down that 3rd mob, rendering the Rook impotent. That kinda maneuver is about the only reason to run with both herald and soldier too, except for lols (I named mine Patsy and Concorde).

Thanks for the strategy. I really need to start retraiting before I run solo skirms. I have Improved Herald of Victory, which is really handy on duo/trio skirms, but not really needed on solo skirms. My archer herald would be more useful.
