I just started a character on firefoot yesterday. I'm a first timer to this game and now after reading this board is seem the server is terribly underpopulated and unpopular.
Also it sounds like people on this server don't like noobs.
So what should I do? Which server should I join? I do prefer a more active environment.
I love Firefoot, especially my kinmates (What Ring?). But I also enjoy the occasional RP session, thus my (slow) move to Landroval. Either server will be very enjoyable for you. Plus, picking on noobs is just plain fun, and LOTRO users way of saying glad your here!

It's not as busy but on the plus side you won't get lost in the numbers and if are polite and helpful, join a kin you will have no issues on the server unless you need weird play times then other servers might be better.
honestly you should stay, despite our forum antics and occasional public channel antics we've got a helpful community with a lot of different kins that would be glad to have you in them

I would run away fast a I could and never look back if I was you. I would not recommend this server to any one. (would ask around on other servers forums they can fill you in on what it is like here)
Frankly I love this server. The are hardly any spambots, there's a tighter knit community, people always seem to be helpful solely to be helpful (can't say the same with some other server peeps >.>(But everyone, including me, seems to have awful timing -_-)), and the chance of server lag is low thanks to the lower pop ^.^
Spend some time, both pvp (if you can handle the jokes) and pve, "listening" to gLFF and OOC, join a kin (reputable can get you even further into the social sphere but go with the flow), run content, make friends, go to whatever level that you're comfortable with and assess whether you like this server or not.
I got a crash course on this server thanks to a friend who's been playing since beta and I'm infinitely glad that I took his advice to stay here.

Everyone can admit the fact that, at one point in time, Firefoot was drama central everywhere you went. Many people got angry, many people left. A majority of the people managed to stay out of the drama so had no reason to leave. This is the community that is left on Firefoot. The drama has been gone for a long time and the rest of us are wonderful, helpful people. Numbers are low, but not too low. There are people on in most areas most of the time. Stick around, give it a shot, and make your own informed decision on whether or not to stay. Chances are, you will.

But Firefoot still has the best name for a server.
I'm back after being gone for 3 years because F2P is coming.
Prepare for the influx!
Well welcome back then!
I was just chatting w/ a kinnie yesterday trying to decide if Firefoot's influx will consist mainly of returning players or new players.. The addition of new server(s) might put a dent in the new population that servers like us would otherwise be getting.
I'd expect more new players but the ration between new and returning will probably be closer than I would have initially expected.

Yeah I hadn't thought of that. I guess it will depend on how many new servers they add and how many new people come in. The only bad thing is the quality of players does drop in F2P. But there will be numbers for sure.

i bet a lot of people who join in f2p are actually friends of someone who plays. i have a few friends who would play but just cant seem to pull the trigger in actually downloading the game and play longer then the week free trial. being able to play the early stuff free is a good way to get people to atleast try the game.
something ive said to a friend of mine..."you should atleast try it, its not like you have anything to lose"

Get them to get a paid subscription before the f2p though so they get grandfathered in to the VIP and don't have to pay to leave Breeland.
I thought it was my understanding that anyone could 'subscribe' to the monthly fee and be automatically upgraded to VIP even after F2P starts. That isn't true?

Isn't that what I just told them to do?

this is what will happen yo will stay lvl a toon your friends will leave and go to elendilmir and leave you here all alone the server is underpoupolated and the people in it are clicky they will talk smack about you and make lame little comments any time you ask for anything i was there for 2 years the pvp is lack and there is no pve take some good advise deleat your toon and go to elendilmir its the best server for the usual all around player there is almost always a full raid if creep and freep and people pug things that only one or two kins on firefoot have done
Our server is proud of what we are. We are skilled and I am sorry who was it that had the First kill on the LT in NORTH AMERICA? Oh yeah, Rev's... On FIREFOOT.
Good job being so negative and being wrong... You just put your Firefoot in your mouth.
Please go back to the E forums. Haters are not welcome... at least those of us who remain are not petty rude and outwardly insulting.

exactally firefoot is full of people that turn on you as soon as you disagree with them like i said they are clicky and not a good server at all you will be happier going to brandy or elendilmir leave firefoot as soon as possable or you will regreat it try the other servers before making a decision

it's difficult not to disagree with someone who comes in and directly attacks your home and community.
you sound quite bitter about Firefoot for some reason, but evidently you enjoy the big E. I suggest you stay there and no longer worry yourself with the ongoings and happenings in these parts.
there are *plenty* of people who quite enjoy Firefoot. it's unfortunate that you ran into a few that made you feel out of place, but that can happen just as easily elsewhere as it can here.

Thats one of farmburglars ruffians (children) -- you can't win against that family. They are too large and between the 8 of them. Make up quite a bit of the lotro population. VETO power is large and the force is with them.
Firefoot is great...if you want to be a big fish in a small pool of stagnant fetid water

This is funny because they have closed all Server Transfers to E, soo this is impossible unless they decide at a very low level to go to E and start a new toon. Yes firefoot has a smaller poplulation, which will never grow if the select few who had bad experiances continue to bad mouth the server. On the same note, E is over populated, this is why they cut off server transfers. pick the server you want but dont listen to idiots who go on forums saying oh this server sucks cz of this so on. Large or small all servers have their problems but small ones dont become large if people on the large servers give them unnecissary bad rep.

sorry firefoot does have that small family feeling and its great for a while but if ya live in a small house and have a argument with somone in it its hard to get away from that person or persons..freedom in large numbers but if ya decide to stay more power to you happy hunting ..
Gotta love how the couple of people that are trashing Firefoot are people from other servers with apparently nothing better to do but troll our forums. And tell people to go to a server that is already pushing pop limits and will be suffering from login queues and other issues when the f2p floods come in. Yep, great source there.
Been on Firefoot for 3 years now. Seen the drama (and Firefoot is far from alone on that), noticed that the biggest troublemakers moved on to other servers, and in many cases moved again after that because they caused more drama at their new homes (or fit right into the morass that is Brandywhine, er, wine). The people here now are a great group of people, we are certainly not underpopulated (though quiet during weekdays when school is in session) and we're more than ready for a big influx of players when we go F2P. Other servers can't say that.
It's funny how many people go looking for the "server with all the people" then a while later complain about how crowded it is, node ninjas, rude people, and bad server performance/ lag. Gee, you reap the consequences of your choices.
