Can anyone own those now? I am shopping for Delux houses next to each other and when I find them I plan on abanding my current houses - which are not next to each other.
I see a a house for 17.250 for sale next to a 7 gold one. Thinking that would be dang nice and the sign does not mention that it is kin only or anything.
But I don't want to abandone my current houses to buy it only to find after I abandone them that when I go to buy the two of them I can't buy the 17 gold one because I'm not a kin.
Yes. Kin only, which is why half of them remain empty, like the one next to my house that has been empty since the day housing became available.
But then most houses are empty, left by people who quit the game and will never return. Just in case there is an outside chance they could be coaxed back into playing again.
But they seem to care more about the people who left the game than the ones who remained loyal and would love to have those houses, so that neighborhoods became neighborhoods, not ghost towns.
If they want to preserve a house for a quitter, they could easily freeze the stuff inside the house and return it to the .0008% who come back to the game, but give them a NEW house someplace else, opening up the one they abandoned so active players can have active neighborhoods.

But, if you have a lot of alts, or a few friends with a few alts, you can create a kinship and in 3 months, the house can be yours.
A friend and I are both part of different kins on Elendilmir, but we wanted to buy a kin house next to our houses for extra storage and trophy display. So we each created a few alts and then made a kinship.
Then we waited.
Now we each have deluxe houses and a kin house to share.
Alternatively, start a trial account and make a few alts, then create a kinship with one of your main characters and invite the trial alts. Once the trial lapses, the characters still exist and are part of the kin.
** If trial players can not join kins, please tell me and I will edit this.

You're right. I have so many cosmetics that I have two storage kins. Friends lowbies + a trial account and I have 6 extra storage boxes.
The only downside is on a paid account you can skip the intro. On the trial, you have to go through it.
