Upto a point... say there's no chance in hell you can win a fight 1v1, yet, you continue the 1v1 20 times in a row... I consider that farming... now if the players are of equal skill and have an equal chance to 'kill' eachother well, that's just a good fight, IMHO.

Btw, that Polarbash is pretty good for a low rank... I think I've played against him before somewhere .

D'oh, yes, Polarbash. I knew it was something "cold" and I took a chance on the name. I really, really need to pay better attention to names. There are so many new creeps out there and I'd hate to embarrass myself again.

Yeah, he is really good for a low rank considering he doesn't have all the cool skills. I was running around with another minnie last night and we ran into him and the other minnie agreed, running into Polarbash 1v1 can be a deadly experience.

Anyway, going to edit my post to put in the correct name.

To beat a reaver 1v1 on minstrel:

1. Slot anthem of the wizards.
2. Tier up ballads while reaver charges.
3. Use anthem of the wizards.
4. Gain distance with piercing cry and call of the second age and kite until the reaver admits defeat or rage quits.

Yay for OP minstrel slow! About all the reaver can do is los behind trees or something, but even still if they're slowed they wont be able to do it very effectively.

P.S. Turine you suck! Losing to Sniffle is ...... lol

Good advice, thank you . But I always seem to start off with PC... it's like I can't help myself.

On an aside, I always find that I am traited "wrong." If I stay healing traited (usually my basic raid healing build), no one groups and it just plain isn't as much fun to be solo. If I retrait along skald lines... well then I end up in a group where I am asked to use fellowship heart or something . Sometimes I wish I could just "save" my builds and respec to them with the click of a button.

Well, if you're solo just trait WS... when a group forms up that isn't completely "out their damn mind" map to GV and retrait .

First off, I'll apologize to Griloin for having our little 1v1 a few days back at Lugz rez interrupted by an over zealous greenie defiler, I swear I didnt' know he was there. Although I would have won regardless, I owe him a rematch. Although perhaps the lesson in it all is that its not good for a RNK (other than one named Cannotthinkofnames)to engage a reaver 1v1, but I digress.

Hehe 1v1 askir...he is lvl 60 but can prolly take you out. Anc should be up to par in the next few weeks...take some shots at him. I had a r7 reaver and after charge goes up could never touch em...that was pre OMG9KMORALE though

In other news, in true Team F fashion, I stormed TR solo last night with all the creeps inside the doorway . Some of the freeps followed me. I was just sick of us staring at each other (and I hoped to get a kill). I think you are rubbing off on people.

Oh forum ban... so tempting... so many potential infractions ... you're always welcome Jilla (in fact everyone is since that pisses off Slin D:<)... just lemme know, and you can be in W/S or not... don't matter, just bring a willingness to die tons and have fun dying in the most 'fail' way possible .

To Polarbash and Devstrike... nice job on the 1v1s on SRGTS and Candy Mountain... looks like I'm gonna need alot more practice aoe kiting... props to the strafing movement as usual bash... and great skill execution Dev... also, now I know I can't interrupt ravage with horn, which sux... why can't my Brutal/Feral be the same way! /bow

Big thanks to Sniffle for all the 1v1's today by TR rez!

I had some fun 1v1s last night in all the chaos... I completely suck at remembering names, but I know Redshirt provided a fun fight (and it was close). I appreciate that he didn't call in the rest of the raid even though I think he was part of it and they were close by. It was good sportsmanship all around in my book. And there was a spider that I found near TR hotspot that put up a good fight. I apologize for not remembering the name

There was also some poor, greenie warg (unranked) that pounced me (he didn't stand a chance, but I have to give him credit for trying). Most other potential 1v1s ended up not being so, but I think the creeps in question were in groups. And at one point I picked on a bluerim killing bears near TR (I originally thought I was taking on a group of 3 and hoped to take out the weakest one first, but since no one came to help him, I think everyone was solo. After I killed him the rest moved in and killed me).

And not really a 1v1 but I have to give props to Mashedtata and friends. I tried 1v1ing all of them at some point until I realized they were in a group (they killed me every time except the time they tried to fight me and another freep at the steps of GV). While not really a 1v1, and even though I mostly lost to them, at least I felt like I might stand a chance.

I really enjoy fighting creeps 1v1... it gives me a better sense of how well (or how poorly) I fight. And when I lose in a 1v1, it at least feels like I stood a chance. I think 1v1s are helping me improve.

I guess I can credit Roland for getting me out of that camp. He asked me to help with some book quest and I mapped to the Shire only to find out that they didn't need me, so I came right back

I loved it when you guys tried to attack me at the GV steps though, luckily I tagged all of you before you got to the one shotters. Does this mean I've officially farmed my rank like everyone else? Or at least a few hundred renown of it?

good thing I mapped to good isen and didn't run into the 1 shots like Slin and Superninja!

Hehe, yeah, I have the knowledge it's implementing it that's my problem. I was trying to kind of work that out when fighting you. I even tried going in without warspeech at one point (that's when I did my worst ).

Ahhh... I like you! I mean, who else can I count on for a reliable, quick trip to a rez circle?

I am getting better against reavers in general (and 1v1s in general too). I've gotten a lot of good advice from other minstrels and reavers alike. Like I said, it's just a matter of implementation and practice. Which is why I can't resist a 1v1 against a reaver anymore, even if it means probably doom . I almost beat a red-rimmed/mid ranked reaver in a 1v1 a few days ago, but I had NPCs on me too... if I didn't have them, I am sure I would have won it was that close.

And the day I win against a ranked reaver and /cheer and such, please don't take it personally, I won't be cheering your loss so much as my victory... finally.
