Devil is in the details....Lifers (and other "VIPs") read this

All you have to do is keep playing the game and visit the LOTRO Store to spend your free Turbine Points.
I'm hoping someone will just tell me that my tinfoil hat is not fitting well today (hopefull Sapience) but this particular sentence regarding Lifers (VIPs) worries me.

I completely understand the need to "keep playing" although logging in once a month is completely stupid for a VIP (it sure helps inflate Turbine's MAUs though - monthly active users), but okay fine. However, the second part of the sentence seems to imply we have to spend our points, as in there may be a cap as to how many you can have or even worse it's part of the "activity" requirement.

    Any thoughts?

It just a badly worded sentence. Turbine Points don't have an expiration or cap (at least not in DDO).

you only need to log in once a month from what i gather to receive your free points and i dont think there is anything to it about spending your points, they were just saying as i read it

I think your hat's a little tight. The second half of the comment is sort of like giving you an allowance and they telling you to go spend it. You can save your monthly allotment until you find something you want. Or save them up for a big purchase like an entire expansion or something similar. Points don't expire.

No they don't... At least not in DDO, I assume they will use the same set up... why would you stop people from buying insane amounts of points... I know a guy dropped almost a 1k over there in points (he has no life BTW)...

I'm not as concerned about spending points I know if I am given them each month I'll probably spend them.

I'm still trying to find out exactly how long a Play session is and if a 'Play Session' is per character or per account.

But is there a point cap? Will I have to spend points at some point to keep from reaching a set cap?

I think it's just the wording that sounds odd.

It's the same store as over in DDO, and you can horde your turbine points as long as you want. You just have to log in at least once a month to earth the monthly allowance.

    This.

A play session is logging in to play. If you log in, that's a session.

I don't have any idea how this stuff works, since I don't play DDO or any other game that works like that.

But logic would tell me that if you pay money for points (which is a revenue stream for the company), why would said company care whether you ever use them or not? They've got your money, the points would be of no concern to them.

Since points are given to your account and not specific characters I'd have to guess that it's any toon, not every toon.

I will periodically take breaks from the game. If I don't log in for a couple of months, do I lose my lifetime subscription or just not get the free points.

If it works like I am understanding, you just forfeit the points for that month.
