Is it possible to subscribe for a month only to unlock the content? Or must i subscribe to a 12 months VIP to do that?
Which content do you mean? If you're referring to Ettenmoors access I mentioned in the previous post it cannot be "unlocked" - it is available during your VIP period only. So purchasing a month of VIP will get you a month of Ettenmoors access.
My partner and I are considering moving one character each from Brandywine to Dwarrowdelf - as lag was less (until recently) and our kinship there is active.
However if we pay for the transfer what exactly moves with the character? Presumably all the bound items like armour, weapons, horses, etc., but what about gold and non-bound items like scrolls, potions, house decorations that are in bags or in the character's vault?
Should we be moving everything that won't get moved onto our other characters so it isn't destroyed?
Many thanks
UPDATE: Found answer to some of this via another fan website that led onto Turbine's iinfo on World Transfers - still wasn't sure about the gold. Anyway went for the Transfer and took a mix of bound items plus non-bound including cosmetic, house decorations, crafting items, scrolls, potions, food, armour, weapons, recipes etc as well as money BUT not anything on Turbine list of can't transfer items. 24 hrs after requesting Transfer I was online when Support contacted me to say ready to proceed. Within 5-10 mins my character was on Dwarrowdelf with everything intact - brilliant.
24 hrs later got invited to a kinship who has house at same street no., as old kin - weird but strangely emotional walking up same drive...

I'm at a loss where to go next for my character. I'm level 48 and cleared early Angmar but now there's only fellowship/group required quests left which are pretty much impossible for my Captain to solo. I got the benefits of 1 month of VIP in the past, have the Mithril/steam starter packs, and Angmar QP. I also have nearly 4k TP sitting for sales and when I need to next Expansion to progress. Seems a bit frustrating that where ever I go the solo quests just suddenly end and are replaced with a ton of fellowship/group quest which is a hindrance when you can't just grab anyone to do said quests.
hi there.
2 years ago I bought MoM boxed version. now, with free to play account, I'd like to use my MoM but my account page says that the code isn't right. is there a problem between new lotro client free to play and the old MoM boxed?
thanks for your reply mate
If it's a Codemasters box it's no longer valid as Codemasters no longer runs any part of LoTRO. So if it's an old box and it's Codies, you're sadly out of luck.
If it's a Turbine box and the code isn't working for some reason, I'd give Turbine a call and see if they can fix it.
...I purchase a Shadows of Angmar retail box/code and apply the code.
- This ONLY works if you have NOT applied a Shadows of Angmar OR Mines of Moria code yet.
- You gain a month of VIP access (or extend your existing subscription by a month) and all of the benefits that entails (including the 500TP stipend)
- Your account is permanently elevated to Premium as you have 'spent real money'
Does anyone know for a fact whether this is still the case, and would work for an existing VIP account (with no expansions as yet)? Nobody on amazon purchasing the retail box mentions it and one reviewer even says that the code didn't work on his F2P account and forced him to make a new one, though it's entirely possible he did it wrong.
I'm in a 3-month VIP sub right now, but having not bought an expansion yet I was thinking about buying the SoA retail box just for the cheap month of VIP before I pick up Mines of Moria, but it almost sounds like the retail box's sole use is starting a fresh account or something.
By the way, thank you for the single most useful OP I have ever read on any topic, anywhere. Navigating the lotro payment system is crazy confusing and this was a gigantic help.
EDIT: Sorry for the megapost but this may be of interest to others. I just heard back from Turbine Customer Support, who I'd asked about using the SoA product key on an existing account (and mentioned my plan to do the same with Mines of Moria) and they seemed to shoot BOTH plans down. When asked for clarification however they say Mines of Moria complete edition would work. I'm not really sure what they would consider a non complete edition, I've only seen "Standard" and "Collector's".

No. Both of the product keys are intended for use on newly created accounts. You cannot apply the keys to already active accounts.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please respond to this email and we will be happy to assist you. Please do not update the default subject line in your reply.

We apologize for the confusion, the Complete edition of Mines of Moria can be applied to an already active account. Additionally, you would receive a month of VIP time included.

I don't know if its Turbine or Codemaster because there are both logos on the box....
The two of you are probably in different instances of the Intro area. Form a Fellowship between the two of you, and one of you can be pulled into the same instance as the other.
Regarding this question:
20. If I purchase Rise of Isengard, does that include all previous content, too?
It's stated that none of the older content is included. Is this because you're mentioning the basic version of RoI? If so, this wouldn't apply to the legendary version, and the older content is included?
Just making clear in case someone else wonders the same thing.
Amazing list of questions nonetheless. Definitely helped answer a lot of questions I had.

A Turbine U.S. edition retail box will ONLY HAVE a Turbine logo/icon on the box. Codemasters logo/icon will not be on it. If you go to the link below, at the botom of the page you can see the different box versions (US vs UK). http://www.collecttolkien.com/GamesVideoPostMovies.htm
Codemasters editions of ANY of the LOTRO game products are completely useless at this point. Do not buy them unless you are possibly a collector and just want it for nostalgic value.
Is there a way to see what content i have access to? is there a way in game and out of game to check?
I've been gone a long while and i remember that i purchased a few things, trying to remember what i got is tough...
If you are Free/Premium, the only way to check is to compare what is and is not available for you to purchase via the ingame store. As far as Quest Packs goes, if it's not available for you to purchase, then most likely you already have it.
If you are VIP, that method only works for QPs from the expansions. You will not know about "free content zones" until you drop to Premium and check then.
Dear all. Is there a way to see the amount of damage your team mate is doing to what ever he is attacking?
Thanks in advance.

Presumably, Turbine didn't want raid leaders having DPS checks on other players.
While you can't track their DPS, there is an option to see damage being done by other players, although I forget where (UI panel or Combat panel, I believe). Your teammates' damage will show up as grey numbers over the mob's head.

About free Turbine Points:
I started a 3-month VIP subscription (resumed from 2010) just last Thursday 06/28. I received my first batch of 500 Tpoints the next day. Then at the end of the month (06/30) I received another 500 Tpoints.
I originally assumed for 3 months I would receive 1500 points, in 500 increments as each month passes. Does this extra 500 I got prematurely mean I will receive 2000 total after September rolls around?
I'm not sure if this has been asked/answered already, but I just want to be clear on this...
I'm trying to deal with some computer problems, and there's a chance I may need to uninstall LOTRO (temporarily). When I reinstall, will my characters still be there, and will they still have all their gear, mounts and legendary stuff? And will my account remain at its current status as a Premium account when I reinstall?
I think these might have been answered already (point me in the right direction if they are!), but I just need to make absolutely sure I won't lose anything that I've worked hard for.

Since your items and characters are bound to your account rather than your computer, you shouldn't lose anything. You can also play from another computer if you get a new one. Just don't forget your password ;-)
Ameldun: [Level 85 Hunter]
Akkhal: [Rank 4 Warleader] Mozkhal: [Rank 4 reaver]
And a bunch more... On gladden of course

Also, keep track of which server(s) you use. The game remembers which you last logged into and puts it at the top of the list. A reinstall may remove that flag and the servers will be in default order with the current recommended on top.

As far as your account, characters, and things like that, your computer is meaningless, believe it or not. All of that information is actually stored on Turbine's servers, not your computer. That is why you can walk over to any other computer with lotro installed on it, sign in to your account, and start playing your characters.
There are a couple of things stored on your computer- namely plugins and skins, if you use them. Also any screenshots you may have taken. But as far as the real data, that's all on Turbine's side, not yours.
You may also want to post what computer problems you are having in the tech forum. It's likely completely unrelated to lotro, and uninstalling it isn't likely to do anything to fix it.

I am currently Premium status and want to purchase A Monster character class from the LOTRO Store, particularly the "WARG" class. If I purchase the additional Monster Class Warg, will it become permanently unlocked for me, or does the 795 TP only last for a 30 day period?

Purchased classes are yours permanently.
VIP includes rental access to Monster Classes while a VIP. Any characters of monster classes you don't own will be locked when you end your VIP until you resubscribe or purchase that monster class.
I purchased the Mithril upgrade, but in the account management I wrongly choose for a new subscription instead of upgrading the f2p subscription.
I was totally unaware of being able to have multiple subscriptions onto the same account, until it was too late. (I'm new to LOTRO, I was doing the upgrade for my son.)
Now the existing character of the f2p account is stuck there, while the 'Mithril' subscription has no characters and my son has to begin anew.
I bought this Mithril upgrade as a surprise, and I messed up, so I feel bad aboout it. Any possibility to correct this (without having to buy the Mithril upgrade again) ?

Hopefully they should be able to sort it out if you submit a ticket or call them.
It would be much quicker to call them and explain what happened

I started a 3-month VIP subscription (resumed from 2010) just last Thursday 06/28 (**snip**)
Your original assumption is how it is intended to work; 500TP on payment day and thereafter at the beginning of each (paid-for) VIP month, give or take 48 hours. Your situation sounds like an error in your favor, though I'd wait till the sub runs out before counting your chickens.
As far as I know, we have the option to change our character's name at the expense of TP.
Is there a way we could change our gender as well?
The problem is that I'm losing the contact with my champ, as a woman doesn't seem heroic enough for the superb 2nd age hammer I'm planning to equip.

Wow... no disrespect intended, but that sounds bizarrely sexist. Yeek.
At any rate, I'm not aware of any way to change your gender, no.
EDIT: Update to 20.6; fixed question 32 concerning Escrow per Shriya's recommendation.
