Correct. For those who have not played DDO, the store is a UI window much like your character sheet or inventory. Or even more accurately, much like accessing the Lorebook in game. It does not pop up of its own accord.
Thanks; I added this to the FAQ.
Canyouaddcolour, Thanks so much for the rep!
Gedachtnis, I don't know yet, but I'll keep researching.
Bump! I think there's a lot of things that will change when all this goes live - but I'm going to stay on the optimistic side of things; it sounds like there will be some good benefits to go along with the masses of newbs
Really great thread Eluros! I'm breaking my sticky rule for it.
Much appreciated; thanks so much.
This should really help saving me from keeping the thread at the top, so I can continue adding information. Heck, I'd even like to order the questions into categories at some point.
No details have been announced, but most likely...
1. They'll have a sale.
2. Your current subscription plans will be honored.
I'm really trying to find the thread so it can be referenced here (these forums are moving SO fast) but a blue post specifically answered it: if you're on the $9.99/mo. subscription plan and you keep it active, then you'll have a VIP account at your current subscription rate. I'm going to assume that includes all the VIP perks (like the 500 store tokens).

Belisana, thanks! I'm a bit overwhelmed at the moment, but I'll look too. If you find it, do let me know, please.

According to the FAQ and charts, yes, you'll be a VIP and get all of the perks.
From what I can tell, little will change (as far as your access to stuff goes) for continuing subscribers aside from getting those extra 500 points.

For whatever system being used for F2P, Premium, and VIP players to EARN points just by playing (mentioned at top of VIP/Premium/F2P chart under "Turbine Points" as "can earn through gameplay"), will those earnings be granted retroactively to those players that have already completed the quests/deeds/grind/etc. required to get them? (Ex. Say you get 10 TP for completing Volume 1, Book 1. Since I've completed it on 9 characters do I get 90 TP once I log in that character?)
Thanks so much! Added to the main post, and credited your input. Anything else interesting you find, feel free to link it here. I repped you for the help, as well.

Yep, it's retroactive. I'll find the post and cite it for you.
Wardrobe? O.o I wonder what this refers to. This sounds like one of the few additions that VIP users would be able to upgrade.

There will be a dev diary on this feature, but I'll give you the quick version. Wardrobe is a special storage for your cosmetic items. That way they don't take up inventory, bank, vault, or housing storage. There's more to it, which I won't spoil, but it's a pretty cool system!
Are servers being upgraded,or can we just expect the mass influx of players to make the lag virtually unplayable for those of us playing for our accounts.
I have 2 subscriptions on 1 account. Will points be based on account or subscription? I'm assuming it's based per subscription. One subscription is monthly and one is lifetime, so I'd guess they'd each be handled point-wise individually? Can anyone clarify that? Thanks. Great sticky btw!
Is there a list of what items are available? Seriously. Thats what makes or breaks it for me.

Another good argument for paid and F2P servers.

On my list of things to do; work calls, though (I'm on the clock), and I have to go right now. Hopefully be back soon-- about an hour!

Per subscription.

If free to play people can earn Turbine Points for free, and all they have to do is spend them to become premium, then not a whole lot are gonna be still free to play....so how does this help bring in money for Turbine...because those who can simply just earn the points and not pay a dime?
Wouldn't it be better if free to play meant that they cannot earn Turbine points, but must pay for them, and therefore create a better feeling of loyalty to everyone who has already paid/subscribed? A little bit more of a boost to encourage people to subscribe if they are free to play, because they'd perhaps get frustrated with the points thing and paying for everything.
Is there going to be any effort at server balancing? Currently, Brandywine has the majority of players, allowing new F2P players onto already overloaded servers isn't going to help. Not that I really want a crapload of F2Pers on Nimrodel, but I do think F2Pers should be funneled to low pop servers instead of getting a full choice.
6. Will there be Free-2-Play and Pay-2-Pay servers?
NO. Tarrance: "There won't be a server merge, and there won't be separate free-to-play only servers. All the servers will remain as they are, and the new population will pick from them just as you once did."
I have a question about quests. I took a mosey over to the DDO website and saw that there are certain quests that are only available for purchase. Will this feature be implemented in LotRO?
Unfortunately, most of the new questions here aren't ones I have answers to. I have gone through the main post, though, and cleaned it up, as well as added structure. I'll continue working on improving that structure and adding questions/answers now.

i dont think there would be so many questions if people would of just read the FAQ to begin with :P
Added 2 new questions, concerning "back pay" and whether Creeps will get a zone to level up. See "Account" and "Expansion" sections, the bottom of each.
I see that monster play is 'not available' to premium and free players. Does that mean players that let their subs run out will lose access to their monster players?
They'd have to actually purchase points (or a sub) to become premium.
This makes it seem like free to play people earn points and dont have to buy them:
