It's rather hard to hunt & kill solo on a WL, no reliable way of knocking freeps off mounts, no slows/CC.
A reaver, for example, is very easy to hunt & kill solo on.
On my WL the soloing i've done has resulted in most of the freeps i've come across putting auto run on (obviously typing to OOC/raid) and calling in a zerg, as I don't have enough DPS to blow them up like a reaver/warg etc, and no slows to catch up.
You can't blame Dozer / WL's in general for rarely doing it.
Same thing happens to me on my warden. Start fighting a creep he runs away or does whatever he can to try and stay away from me. Shortly after that here comes the zerg. Even when a warg initiates the fight with me and he was perfectly safe staying in stealth. Runs away and calls in the zerg. But oh well I just know they fail so hardcore they have to call in the zerg. Many times though thats how I hunt for wargs stick out there and there is usually one that starts fighting me. There are a few that give me a good fight and beat me but the vast majority of wargs out there I crush. So when do we get to have another 1v1 on your reaver or maybe one on another class of yours? Was some good fights. And anyone who wants to 1v1 I'm always up for one.
I'll play with the dozer think it will be a long fight though :P and rusty I know you said once that you wanted to 1v1 my warden. I'm game whenever you want to. Though you'll probably win. I hate spiders but I'll fight them from time to time. Only class that can reliably beat me every time if played properly.
As for the BB, we're usually solo.
We usually group up when there is a big freep raid, or to do the delving.

There's zero reason to solo on this server (As I'm also finding out on Windfola) because the majority of the populace run like Kenyans and return with friends.

While I know this does happen the fact wardens hae more dps (traited spear) than a WL and hampering javelin makes it a lot easier.
I think alot of the zergs that happen on both sides from both sides "calling it in". I know most of the zergs that i've had happen to me, or that I've been accidently apart of are a separate creep for instance will say like "Solo ____ wandering around ____", then we go and see them and see 2 fighting, and soemone in the group attacks, and like dominoes a zerg happens.. I hate breaking up legit 1v1's...not 1v1 ghanks from a rez circle or outta grams, but if someone took the time to setup a nice 1v1, then they should get the 1v1

Freep B rides past, you crit a yell (praise the lord!) and knock him/her off his/her horse, they put on auto run in the direction of EC, and either call in more freeps to kill you while you're chasing them and can't possibly catch them or do enough damage to come close to killing them, or run into EC and be "safe"

Very true and I definitely see your point. I know it's not as rough in those situations as a warden. But yeah either way if the fight drags on longer than desired the raid comes in and kills you. God forbid anyone should actually be able to put up a fight solo right, and run away waiting for the raid to save them? :P

Oh I feel you mate, that's the benfit of bringing my reaver out for a whirl now days, destroy almost instantly or be destroyed, no time for this nonsense
LULL Thread....another one by farmja to stir up some drama....if you are this bored with the game, then you really need to find something else to do brother. I thought I would get a good laugh or some entertainment out of this, but alas it has failed.
I'm posting this as Anirien's raid is flipping the map blue.
There aren't enough creeps on to oppose him, so I'm sitting on my warg waiting to nail someone coming from GV.
A though occurred to me as I'm sitting here- the whole good soloing thing is a bit of a red herring. Who cares if you are good solo? It is only in a raid that you get things done. Grima is able to get his lemmings today to do some focus fire, and is able to take keeps. That is the moors today- raid v raid. I enjoy being in the BB because they know how to work together. We can focus fire, heal, and coordinate movement. So what if Spidey can't 1v1 to save his life? He can sure call targets, stun, root, and WTE to save the group. That seems to me to be more valuable than being able to take on someone 1v1. Being able to solo doesn't take keeps, doesn't earn the group infamy, and doesn't promote better PVP. I'm not knocking people who can solo any takers, I'm just saying it doesn't have much to do with winning in the moors, only in measuring e-peens.

Probably because there isn't always a raid/group readily available so in a PvP zone like the 'moors if you need your hand held you're probably better off spending your time doing other things?

I was referring to the efficacy of people in raids.
There is seldom only soloers in the moors.
Groups of freeps and groups of creeps abound, even if they are not in the same fellow. I've tried to 1v1, but the freeps usually ignore that and go for the kill anyway.

Truth be told, I think I'm improving my 1v1 skills. My problem now is they either run to NPC's or call in a raid. Still lose more than I win, but I learn something new each time.

How are spiders normally against champs? Does power drain kill a champ? Or is their base melee still high enough to spank a spider?
Champs have the highest ICPR of any class and if you use broodlings Champs have an on defeat power restore. Not saying not to power drain, just be aware.

Those who are good solo, tend to, but not in all cases, be great in small groups, and often in raids as well. This is because people who 1v1 well tend to have basic skills that help out in all situations, including Raid Vs. Raid. (turning, skill cycles, kiting).
Also, there are many times in which there are only soloers running about. Never during prime time, but in the hours after the masses log soloing can be immensely fun.
On a seperate note, 2 freeps can take a keep... unless a pesky weaver shows up.
Mediocre minds are always jealous, and inclined to surround themselves with persons of little ability, fearing the reputation of being led...

God i hate that. Every time we start to push i get rooted off the bat, then nobody touches me. I'm a noob and dont carry root/stun pots unless weaver is camping gv, so I end up showing up 30s late to the reknown party, and all the snacks are gone.
I was also referring to a time when me and Riv were 2-manning TA, and when the tyrant was down to 80k a bluey weaver (not anymore) showed up and foiled our attempts.
